  1. Yes, you are right. And in fact Googling directly is one of the best ways to avoid the frustration on many websites.

I agree! I have been through the same frustration on the Hal website until my son said—just google it! By joe there it was. It is crazy that you cannot find the deck plans with ease.

  2. When we booked our 29-day-cruise on Noordam in 2017 we were assured that a face lift was scheduled for spring 2018 . This has been cancelled - we are rather disappointed ... Now Holland America Europe has confirmed to us that the drydock is now scheduled from April 28th to May 12th, 2019.

Now - that is the ultimate question for us : sail this year or re-book later in the year and wait to cruise until after refurbishment? Decisions, decisions... Prices will most certainly be higher next year but 29 days is quite a long time if the cabins are really as shabby and run-down as some reviews seem to suggest.

    Very interesting!!!

I am scheduled to cruise April 7-May 12, 2019 on the Noordam.

No one has informed me of a change in the schedule.

    Hum----

  3. I am scheduled for a 36 day Aus, NZ to San Diego on the Noordam cruise in March of 2019. I confirmed with the cruise consultant aboard the Kongingsdam (when I reserved the Noordam cruise) that the Noordam would be refurbished prior to the March 2019 cruise. That has all changed

I was notified that the cruise I reserved has been changed from March to April 2019 but my PCC still states that no reburbishment is scheduled. There is a two week period at the end of March that nothing is scheduled for the Noordam.

I am rethinking the cruise at this point.

  4. Looking at a Fall trip on the Veendam. Could someone explain the Oasis area. I understand it is for teens but doubt there would be teens on a cruise through New England during late September. Would that area be closed or open to others?

Good (and bad) on the Veendam for those who have sailed on her recently.

  5. I have also been waiting for the update. I called the Mariner office number and was told--after a long wait on hold--that something is going on with our cruise and it could be another week or two before the computer problem is resolved. The Mariner office was very nice and gave me an estimate only. Hope the official numbers are out soon

  6. Save room for their chocolate cake with coffee ice cream and caramel popcorn. So YUMMY!

I noticed the Pinnacle was not open for lunch when at port in the Caribbean but it is different for every ship, I believe.

    Only about 80 more days!

  7. I really enjoyed the thermal suite--especially the loungers. It was cold and rainy for my cruise! The hot tub did have jets and the water is suppose to have minerals but I have no idea if it did. Maybe room for 6 people. I loved the windows looking out over the front of the ship and the small outdoor veranda to the side. There were also really nice multi-head showers in the suite also

  8. We loved the PS veranda and I personally could have lived there. The whirlpool tub was OK but the large table was perfect for dinner during sail-away. Consult with the NL concierge and arrange for dinner delivered from the MDR. You can eat inside or out.

You will definitely be spoiled when you return home.

  9. Thanks again for the live report. So fun to be on the cruise with you! Tasting the sangria now

I noticed Crocs worn by the HAL staff at both pools on the Eurodam in March. I also remember the Pinnacle Grill staff and Neptune Lounge staff had new uniforms with a unique collar.

Thanks for the flower pics. They were incredible. It reminded me to find the collapsible vase! I

    Enjoy today
