  1. I'm from Australia and I would be insulted if a houseguest bought there own groceries, shampoo etc. I have never heard of such a thing.

As mentioned earlier if going to an informal BBQ by all means bring some meat and personal drinks but side dishes are usually supplied, however if from out of town or overseas then everything would be provided.

Chinese takeaway food usually costs around $16 - $19 and not very often delivered. It is very easy to get a pizza delivered which ranges from $10 up.

Also confirming above about tipping, round up your cab fare but only to the nearest $5 is acceptable, tip at a restaurant what ever you think 10 per cent is fine but generally no one is looking or expecting a tip anywhere.

  2. Thanks for all the replies. I'm trying to shorten my shortlist but I think I'll keep the TA near the top it sounds like my sort of cruise.

I've been on two other cruises, the last one a couple of years ago was on the Dawn Princess and we had two sea days in a row which I thought were great for all the reasons listed here and it sounds like a couple more are no problem

  3. Hi everyone, I'm considering a transatlantic cruise on the Royal Princess on the 9th Sept 2018 and was wondering what other peoples experiences have been on a cruise with a few sea days in a row.

It must be hard to keep everyone entertained for so long or do most people just sit around the bars or pool?

I was also going to ask about the Royal Princess handling rough weather but I guess it is all subjective but if anyone wants to comment go ahead.

    Thanks for any replies.

  4. Hi everyone, I'm doing some research on a cruise next year and slowly getting a shortlist. On my list there are two similar itinerary's with a reasonable price difference, I was hoping someone might be able to tell me if the cheaper one would be just as good or is it you get what you pay for.

  5. Hi guys, I'm not a real experienced cruiser, only done 2 South Pacific sailings but now the kids are older I'm having a bit more time on my hands so I'm in the middle of planning a 14+ night cruise for the second half of next year.

I was looking through Regal Princesses intinerary and there is a large gap. It goes from April 15 2018 to August 28 2018.

What would be the reason for such a large gap?
