Heya!
You can wear whatever you want in the day (just not at afternoon tea).
Afternoon tea is 100% necessary! So good. No charge you just show up :-) There is a dress code but I think it's just no shorts.
I had the same table every evening. Make sure you don't miss out on the free room service!!
I took my first Cunard cruise and here are the things I wish I knew beforehand... http://cruisingisntjustforoldpeople.co.uk/2016/11/06/8-things-you-should-know-before-cruising-with-cunard/
There is a review of afternoon tea there too and a guide to the dress code. Hopefully that'll be helpful.
Have an amazing time!!

Hey hey! I haven't cruised at Christmas on Carnival but have cruised on NCL and MSC at Christmas. I love it so so much. I've always had a Christmas dinner/decorations etc.
Here's my favourite things about cruising at Christmas and what to expect on the big day. http://cruisingisntjustforoldpeople.co.uk/?s=Christmas
Hope that helps! :-)

NCL NCL!!
I used to cruise with NCL when I was a child and I absolutely loved it. I made so many friends some of whom I still know...
The Royal Caribbean ships are also pretty good, although it wasn't all of the 'bells and whistles' that I enjoyed about cruising as a child. It was the freedom!
I've written here about why I loved cruising as a child, may be interesting to think about it from a child's perspective. http://cruisingisntjustforoldpeople.co.uk/2016/12/17/7-things-i-loved-about-cruising-as-a-child/
Hope that helps! :-)

Heya! I went on my first Cunard cruise last year and there were so many things that surprised me.. free room service for example!
Cunard is like nothing else. Here's the things I wish I knew before choosing Cunard (not sure that I would choose them again). Maybe... http://cruisingisntjustforoldpeople.co.uk/2016/11/06/8-things-you-should-know-before-cruising-with-cunard/
Hope that helps!

I've never had a problem! I ordered a rum and Coke on my last NCL cruise and it was 90% rum 10% coke. Blehh!! Haha

I've been cruising since I was 11 with NCL, throughout my teenage years. I really love NCL, the pearl is a slightly smaller than most of their fleet still lovely!
I always used to make friends on my cruises as a teenager (still know them now!) The teen club and meet ups/events are really cool, I used to love them.
Incase you want to chat to young cruisers we've made a little young cruisers community at http://www.cruisingisntjustforoldpeople.co.uk lots of lovely people to help you decide :-)
Both sound like fabulous options to me!

Heya! Here are my top 'first time NCL' tips. (Could never fit them all in this box)
Most important thing being... book the shows early! You do not want to miss out!!

Hope that helps :-)

I've managed it before, 2 adults 2 teenagers!
Just a bit of a faff getting changed/showing etc but it's totally doable.

Nope, such a shame that the drinks package doesn't include those either!

Heya! Realistically all you need is ID. The first page with the barcode would help though. Just to speed things up.
There will be people there to put tags on your bags but sometimes the queue can be long. I would definitely avoid it if possible!
They'll also probably want a credit card too.
As this is first NCL cruise this post may be useful, it just lists the things I think you should know before your first NCL cruise. http://cruisingisntjustforoldpeople.co.uk/2016/12/04/8-things-ncl/
Hope that helps!

Hell, I don't care if people want to come naked even if 99% of naked people look much better clothed :p
Ha ha!!! I would agree but some sights might put me off my dinner...

Really interesting one! I think realistically you'll be fine :-)
Luckily you're not going on Cunard or I wouldn't risk it at all! Haha... the people on Cunard love their dress code.
If you fancy a laugh check out this article on the topic... http://cruisingisntjustforoldpeople.co.uk/2017/05/04/guest-post-wearing-shorts-mdr/
Such controversy!!

Heya! Completely agree that Cunard passengers take the dress code EXTREMELY seriously.
It's worth noting that the dress code is ship wide after 6pm, it isn't just in the dining room, it's everywhere.
Here's what I wore on formal/informal nights: http://cruisingisntjustforoldpeople.co.uk/2016/11/08/cunard-dress-code/
Hope that helps! I found the informal nights almost as formal as the formal nights...

Heya, I am sure they'll have more than that closer to the time! Usually have 5 or so in each port at least...

I very rarely spend a lot onboard. Things that I would think about budgeting for would be things like:
Room service,
Gym classes,
Laundry,
Buying photos,
Internet,
Special shows
Maybe a few other things! (List from http://cruisingisntjustforoldpeople.co.uk/2016/12/27/infographic-the-hidden-costs-of-cruising/)

Ha ha! I like the eat (scoff) half diet.
I honestly think it's easier to maintain a weight when on a cruise than on land, it's much easier when somebody else can cook you lovely healthy food! It's a great opportunity to try new foods too. Also the things I tend to snack on at home (biscuits crisps) etc aren't really around on a cruise ship.
Youlll end up doing way more exercise than you realise too with little walks and climbing the stairs!
I've never put on weight on a cruise and I've talked about why I believe that is here; http://cruisingisntjustforoldpeople.co.uk/2016/10/10/you-dont-have-to-put-on-weight/
Hope that helps! :-)

I used to stay 4 in an inside cabin when I was a teenager ;D

Find it strange that people say that the suite will be tight. When I was a teenager I would stay in an inside cabin with my brother and parents!!
The epic is a funky ship, a lot of people don't like her bathroom set up but that's the same on all cabins :)
Currency is dollars. Right about the 3rd:4th passengers.
The epic is pretty big it shouldn't feel crowded!
I have my first time NCL tips here along with a Norwegian epic gallery: http://cruisingisntjustforoldpeople.co.uk/2016/12/04/8-things-ncl/
Hope that helps!
