  1. Thanks for the answers!! This cruise will be for our 5th wedding anniversary. I agree that I wouldn't dump our daughter at the club, and I couldn't imagine not bringing her with us on the trip. But we would like to do a couples massage or maybe elegant night on our own to celebrate. It's rare we get a date night worth a toddler!

I think we're on the last sailing before dry dock for the major upgrades. I'm glad to hear the ship is kept clean and toddy. That is more important than outdated.

  2. We're taking a carnival cruise to Half Moon Cay and Nassau. I had originally planned to do an Atlantis walking tour and beach day, buuuut I got talked into booking a cabana on Half Moon Cay, so there goes the excursion money I had budgeted.

Would you try to walk around Atlantis on your own and go to Cabbage Beach? Or would you pay for a private beach? Or are there other free/super cheap options? We'd like to have some beach time and would love to see the aquarium at Atlantis and will have a 3yr old.

  3. I'm leaning towards booking some treatments ahead of time for DH and I at the spa on the Elation but can't find any info. Ideally we'd wait until we're cruising for a deal, but I want to make sure we can work it around when DD will be at camp carnival.

Can anyone describe the spa? Is it large? Are there areas with the tile lounge chairs to relax together if going for separate treatments? Does the couples massage room have the whirlpool I've seen on other ship videos?

    Any info is appreciated, thanks!

  4. I'm looking for suggestions on an excursion in Nassau. We'll be at Half Moon Cay the day before and just lounging on the beach. It will be my husband, myself and our 3yr old daughter. Right now I'm thinking the walking guided tour of Atlantis (dd loves aquariums), and then walk over to the free beach next to Atlantis to hang out, maybe get a massage (I think on Cabbage Beach?). I'm open to suggestions!

  5. I've been on and off eating a ketogenic diet since July 4th. It works when I work it. I have had too many cheat days/weekends lately. Now that I've booked a cruise for August, I am more motivated to start again. I just made a vision wall for the next 100 days that will take me to our Disney vacation in January that includes diet, meditation and exercise. I've lost about 24lbs so far and am looking to lose another 25-35. I gained a bunch before being diagnosed hypothyroid and it has been extremely difficult to lose. Eating keto is the only thing that has touched it. I would love to be comfortable in a bathing suit again!

  6. I've been doing keto since July 4th. I lost 24 lbs in the first 2 months, and have held steady since then due to too many cheat days/weekends. Now that I've booked a cruise for next August, I'm ready to drop my 2nd 24lbs. It is super hard not to have fruit. But once I get in the groove after a week or so, I don't have the cravings. My biggest tip is to get sodium and potassium tablets and take those when eating keto. It's a diuretic diet and you lose your electrolytes when you're peeing that much which causes headaches and carb cravings and dizziness etc.

I think on my vacations (Disney in January, cruise in August) I will pick the low carb options when available, but I'm going to have dessert or mashed potatoes if I want. From my experience in the past few months, I feel really good on keto. When I cheat, I'm tired, get headaches, am cranky etc. I don't want to feel like that all vacation, so I'm trying to find a balance.

  7. I've been browsing a few days and haven't seen these answers so I figured I'd ask :p

    1. Is Suess at Sea and specifically the Suess breakfast available on the Elation now?

    2. With Your Time Dining, is there a long wait to get a table usually? Do you still sit with others? Do they give you a buzzer when you check in so you can wander around the area?

    3. If I can upgrade from our current 6th level to the (7th) Empress, is it worth it? Our current category classification is 6D, Oceanview.

Additionally, any details on Camp Ocean and how that works are welcome. I'd like to book us some spa time, but I'm a little hesitant as I can't find consistent times on when the kid's club (for a 3yr old) is open. Should I wait to book something until we get on board to get a better deal?

    Thanks so much!
