  1. Hey guys, first post here. I've been following this thread for quite some time now. Have to thank everyone for the pics and the updates of this beautiful ship...

Booked on the transatlantic in April, first balcony cabin...can't wait although a bit nervous (never done a transatlantic before). Have a few questions if that's ok? (If posting in the wrong thread please remove) ;)

Although my third NCL cruise how will the maiden voyage differ than the other cruises? Can't book shows or dining yet, do we need to call like other people are saying in this thread, or will everything be subject to change as it's all new etc?

Anyone ever done maiden voyages before?

Sorry for the long post! Thanks in advance!!

CALL CALL CALL to make your reservations for dining, shows, thermal Spa, excursions, nothing was working as of yesterday, Those on the First Panama have had to do the same.

Transatlantics I have done, Bring a favorite game, like LCR, Cards, there should be games and books in the Library too. Bring a kindle.

Find the Cruise Critic Roll call see if someone has started a Meet and Greet with the crew, and other events, slot pull, cabin Crawls, pub crawls, sailaway party meeting spots after Muster.

If you are solo find the other solos, The Solo lounge will have meetups, go to the meetups even if not in a studio, its on the dailies

Bring a highlighter, the dailies have TOO Much to do, you will never be bored.

Pretty sure there will be special events for the innagural. My Friend Mary a Casino geust and a few other I know will be onboard

Norwegian Night Out, dress up or not night. The Captain may be about on this night for photo ops , that will be listed in the Dailies

Glow night, the big party night where White, and tie dye do best, Ultraviolet party lights, glow sticks and Music. Weather permitting at Spice H2O most likely. Hit the party store or dollar stores for Glow sticks, and glow jewelry

And you thought your post was long!

I am on June 2 first Alsaka, we have about 140 for the Meet and greet

also on Nov 3 2018 2nd Panama, over 135 already for that (expect well over 300 by Nov)

  2. ok NCL any day now please activate dining reservations and show for the Panama Canal cruising in MAY. I have been checking each day for two weeks now. I did get thermal SPA but I had to call.

I have been told that everything is slowing day in regards to Bliss.

But of course just as I post this I am thinking magically it will be fixed. who knows right.

But do call if you want Thermal Pass. Don't wait

Those on the Inaugural had to call in dining reservations, after 90 day window. I would call on Dining now, Get reservations in For Q Steakhouse early, heard it might be popular.

  3. I received the 3 night meal plan as part of my booking. I bought another plan for around $83 for my grown children. The wording online is not clear. Having paid for the plan upfront, am I responsible for any additional taxes/tipping/service charges or other costs? Or is this all inclusive (cost)?

    Thank you!

No additional cost unless you want to add a tip

If you got to Ocean blue, which is worth it, there is a small upcharge. Think it was Just over $15, it has lobster and Crab Legs as well as other great seafood. Ala Carte could run up a tab to well over $50 per person

  4. I am booked on the Panama Canal cruise this May, and I also just booked the LA - NYC Panama Canal, November 2019. So I hope I like this ship. I really like the pool deck layout compared to Getaway and Breakaway.

Any news about Bayamo/Pincho Tapas Bar on the Bliss?

I am also booked on the Bliss for the 21 day with 15 other solos!!!

Food republic is one I am looking forward too.

The Addition of Los Lobos replacing Moderno gives us Mexican fare. I thing the Guac at Los Lobos that I had on the Dawn was one of my favorite treats.

    Steph

  5. So, I am wondering...we do not have the dining package as a perk and will not be purchasing it but want to try Los Lobos. The way I am understanding the website is we pay the specialty dining fee (say it's $30 pp) PLUS 18% gratuity PLUS each items price ala carte???? We still will try it, but if that's the way it works that is really not cool. That's like double charging IMO. Am I interpreting this incorrectly?

if you have Dining, your bill will be ZERO, many of the restaurants have ala carte pricing for those that do not have dining perk or buy it

  6. I've searched every way I know how, but I cannot find an Itinerary for Bliss leaving LA after they finish their 15 day PC cruise on May 25 up to Seattle ready to start her AK itineraries. Does anyone have info on this? is there just not a public sailing?

Like the NYC to Miami gap, it might be for Travel agents etc.

They cannot go US port to US port without having another country on the itinerary.

    Steph

  7. Love the changes as compared to the Escape. I'm booked on the first Alaska sailing June 2, 2018......booked an outside overlooking the bow on deck 13. Now that I have seen the changes in the layout which I think are great, thought a warm Caribbean cruise would be in order. So I called NCL and booked a second cruise on Jan 12, 2019 an eastern Caribbean cruise...in a solo cabin. I need to buy stock in NCL

    Tom

I am on solo June 2 2018 with a bunch of solos.

    Steph

  8. Hopefully, the volume of the music will be background mood so we can still talk at dinner. Nightclub loud would ruin the experience. BTW, I don't see a separate space for the Prohibition Musical Happy Hour, but perhaps the Q TX BBQ stage for music with dinner will be where the show is held. It would explain why Q is in the same place as Illusionarium/Supper Club of the sister ships, as well as why Prohibition is a daytime tasting, not a dinner show. Anybody have insight?

I believe the Prohibition Happy hour was to be in Alibi comedy club as a scheduled show. From the original press relief on that and Jersey boys

    Steph

  9. Curious, how do you ensure they charge you instead of taking away a meal on your plan? I will be on the Dawn in January for ten days.

Sent from my iPhone using Forums

Most likely talk to the hostess when getting seated, as the first step. If they cannot arrange, after the fact go to the service desk.

  10. Now waiting For the 'Ncl Bliss June 2 2018 1st Alaska Sailing' will be so difficult!

I knew it wouldn't be enough of the new Ship smell, So I booked the 'Norwegian Bliss November 3, 2018 Panama Crossing LA to MIA'

We already have a Meet and greet count of 78 and 2 pub crawls planned for the Crossing. For Alaska 30 for the meet and greet.

The first day they came up for sale I booked solo on both, the pricing had sky-rocketed, Panama was $500+ more in a solo when one came up for sale last week.

    Steph

  11. LOL. Last month we booked a H9 Spa cabin for our party of three. It was the greatest Haven level value as it is on most ships we have checked out.

Today our TA called to inform us that NCL has reconfigured all the H9 cabins to only hold two.

They appear to be accommodating by offering us an upgrade to H8 with a couple of weekly Spa passes, but while roomier the balcony is much smaller.

Only 8 months from launch and they are just now figuring how many people a cabin can hold? No wonder they do not want their deck plans published, they do not know if they are accurate themselves.

The spa haven on most ships has only been two as far as I have ever seen. They were considered Romance suites, with the soaker tub right in the cabin proper, meant for just two. on most ships the Haven spa suite is 309 -322sq feet. HavenSpaSuiteDetails.jpg

Like mentioned before, it seems the Escape has a Category called Haven Deluxe spa quite, that other ships may not have. This is the Bliss rendition, enormous with 430 sq feet Bliss_H9_Bedroom_881x400.jpg

  12. Yes! We loved Los Lobos. Nice that they tried her out on the Dawn and recognized it's a winner!

The news that it will be on the Bliss is making me think we will be booking more than one cruise on her. Alaska? Mexican Riviera? Eastern Caribbean?? Multiple choices:D

I am on 1st Alaska June 2!!!. a group of solos that I organized in an NCL direct Group. At 12:01 at the 90 day mark I will be booking a table for 8 with my dining package for Los Lobos, Ocean Blue and maybe the new Texas Roadhouse if thats what it is, a restaurant.

The Nov 3 2018 Panama Canal.

Then 2019 the Bliss Summer Alaska I will be booing wth the hubby! when the dates come avail

    Steph
