  1. Let's try this again! My last live review was kind of a disaster so I thought I would try again!!

We originally booked this cruise through Club Royale a few weeks ago to sail out on Oasis on 4/30. Last week, we found the Allure at a similar price and because we have sailed on Oasis 3 times in the last few years and found out through our roll call that there was going to be a big group on the Oasis sailing, we decided to call Club Royale to see how much it would cost to cancel Oasis and switch to Allure

They were so nice and let us change without a penalty. We even kept the same booking #. We booked an interior guarantee that was actually $10 less than our interior on the Oasis was supposed to be. They told us there would be no refund of the difference which of course we would not have expected.

We did not get our assignment until Friday morning 4/28. We got assigned a Central Park Balcony on deck 11. I'm excited to try Giovanni's for lunch and I am planning on giving the wine away to a fellow roll call member as we are on drink packages and do not drink red wine.

We got an email that there was a coast guard inspection and not to arrive until noon. We got to the port at around 11am because we had to Return our rental car at 10:30. We ended up boarding at approximately 11:30.

Speaking of rental cars, we often use Alamo when cruising out of Port Everglades. We have always dropped off/picked up at our car at FLL and taken a shuttle to the port. The shuttle is no longer available. Apparently they have opened a new location at the port. When we dropped off a car today and ended up having to take a cab to the port. It was an extra $20 expense we were not expecting. If you have rentals booked you may want to switch to the new location which does offer a shuttle. Our return reservation is from Alamo at the airport but they said we will be able to pick it up at the new location with no issue

I think I just saw a video on FB of the "big group" you were speaking of. Holy moly! You made the right choice in going on Allure!

  2. We booked a guarantee room last month on Oasis and were giving a connecting room. When I spoke to RC they told me there would be a chance we'd be moved if someone needed a connecting room but they would call us and let us know what room we would be getting along with "other things" (I assume OBC) We have since moved cabins so we should be ok.

  3. This is the first Cruise we've taken without booking last minute (I'm talking booking more than a month or so before sailing)

I've called twice, once for about a $100 difference ($50 drop between us and also included some on board credit) and the second was when that had that few hour sale a few weeks back where our cruise price dropped from about 1200 per person to 598 per person for a guarantee. We waited on hold for over 2 hours but were determined and they finally answered. I obsessively checked daily but now I'm pretty sure the deal we got can't be beat. I even called yesterday and got our original room we booked back once thanks to some awesome people here! I never would have known you could change a guarantee booking for another room in the same category!

  4. Got our deck 13 guarantee... Looks like we're in one of the large interiors directly under the "H20 Zone".

Have to admit, I'm not liking this idea. What are we in for?

Call and ask and see what they can do for you. The RC rep was very helpful and gave me a list of rooms available and let me have my pick. There were more available by RC on phone than what showed online too!

  5. That would scare the heck out of me...

How did you tag your luggage? Check in is after luggage drop...

We booked way last minute (like a week or two in advance) We checked them at the curb and told them we booked Gty. They tagged our bags, I don't know if they were special tags to designate Gty or not. I do remember having to make sure our names were visible from outside the bag (luggage tag)

They were also super late to be delivered to our room on day one.

  6. I'd be mortified too and would probably have let it ruin my vacation. As far as what I'd do, I'd write royal just stating how it made you feel. I feel like if they really thought it was you, they would have banished you to your room for the remainder of your trip. I'm sorry this happened to you but I don't think you have anything to worry about if they just let you go!

  7. We booked a Gty a few weeks ago (changed due to a huge price diff) and had our room assigned about two days later. Think we booked on a Saturday and it was assigned Monday.

A few years ago we booked a Gty and were not assigned until we checked in to the port the day of the cruise
