Celebrity has now cancelled all the diving excursions for my upcoming Nov 13th Western Caribbean sailing. I had booked through the cruise line for dives in Belize, Cozumel and Grand Cayman. The GC stop was cancelled entirely by the Cayman Islands government, so I can't fault them for that. Cozumel, I'm not too worried about because I should be able to find a dive shop with a seat on a boat somewhere. I'm bummed about Belize, though. I've only been able to find a single dive shop in Belize City, and they will only send out a boat if it's full.

I'm wondering if there are some COVID liability concerns at play here. It is a bit odd that both my diving bookings were entirely cancelled.

Anyways, just letting the community know. If diving is in your plans for your cruise, have a plan B!

Maybe follow( Bilge Rat 2) postings same week on the CCL Pride. Answer 4 legged Question Pictures are on postings.       from The Bilge Rat!

Unless something has changed, (some things always change), your cruise just has to be a Caribbean cruise, port doesn't matter.  I booked a cruise out of Puerto Rico specifically because it was less expensive,  then L&S'd 10 minutes later to Harmony out of Port Canaveral.

They are looking for You oh MCS 19 Sept Roll Call

  3. You are correct. I have found roll calls on HAL very good especially on VoV & South Pacific cruises. Celebrity is where people are reluctant to discuss the cruise. On a recent Celebrity cruise there were over 3000 posts, mostly about people's personnel lives. I actually found reading the posts very humorous; especially what people are willing to give up or expose about themselves.

Disclaimer: I don't have Facebook, tweet, snapchat, or smart phone. I do have a dumb phone with rotary dial. :)

Redneck Bob, Bilge Rat, need you on Eurodam Roll call the week after your sailing(26 Nov 17) The humor is missing and many one post wonders. Phone? I am still flashing light from the Bridge! G&G aka Ricky Bobdam gave you up for reference, a question he was unwilling to give. He is sailing B to B with you.

Being redneck bob, you know all about back doors. Right?

  4. Monthly update: Received same email last night at 7:01PM. I am hoping something positive, not another hurtle, fence to jump over, or weasel clause. Sailing on the Glory next month. Originally have to sign up 2 weeks before sailing. Now, have to register 3 weeks before sailing. Dynamics of meet & mingle - moving target? The positive part is asking for room number. Already have my name, email address, & roll call handle. Does NOT show up on roll call. Have to go to Community, or boards to register. There they ask for a booking number.

What do you think? 130 plus cruises, less than 2 years on Cruise Critic, disappointed! I'll keep depending on myself. Update next month after cruise.

Read: Post 130,Better how?Sounds like hit or miss!

  5. Sailing on the Jade this month and would like to get some feedback. Are there any things that you learned after getting on the ship that you wish you knew before hand. Any surprises good or bad? Anything unique about this ship as compared to other jewel class ships?

Every ship is different, every cruise is different....but there are always good to know items.....

    Thanks in advance

Keep a watchful eye out for bilge rats, & mr. bubbles bouncing around the ship, in his kilt. And the 101 things that may go wrong. Harvest Caye or other itinerary & menu changes. Remember: dare to be different from your 4 legged friends. Jade in port 12MN to 7:30PM Sunday. 19-1/2 hours problems? Not mentioned on roll call by anyone!

  6. I was wondering if anyone on this board sailed on Costa way before Carnival bought the line?

My first was on the Carla C, before her refit and renaming to Carla Costa. The crew sang a song....Carla C C C Carla C C C.......

Almost sailed the Flavia but she left Florida before I could book. Regret not sailing the Marina and the Alegra when they first started sailing. Anyone out there have memories of these ships?

Back in the day when the crew was Italian......

Bilge Rat on deck. You can run passage ways of past with Bilge! My first cruise ship was SS Flavia 1971, sailed on Carla C C C 1987. Have been in swimming pool of SS Bianca C on the bottom (Grenada) 100+ depth.

See you on the Jade, 3 weeks.

    Nexttimeclub & Bilge
