  1. My wife and I did the coffee excursion back in 2021. I agree with everything Wehwalt (above) says. It's basically a demonstration of how coffee was brewed in the old days along with traditional Dominican stew for lunch, but you'll never see a coffee plantation. We did, however; enjoy the (covered) truck ride. In 2022 we did the trip to Christ the Redeemer at the top of the mountain which to me is a better choice. Either tour is a long ride but you do get to see the city as well as the countryside whichever one you take.
  2. My wife and I were on the Rotterdam in December. Whether you are using your HIA dining credit or not, there is no difference between portions or anything else. You can use your HIA dining credit at any of the three restaurants (Pinnacle, Tamarind or Canaletto). As far as the Pinnacle, we have never received a bad meal or skimpy portions but I will say that post Covid, all of the restaurants have fewer and smaller offerings than in the past. At the Pinnacle, the my favorite ribeye has gotten smaller and the meat quality is not what it used to be. For that reason I've switched to the tenderloin with lobster dumplings which was wonderful. Our favorite restaurant is the Tamarind but everyone has their favorite, although I think most people would rate Canaletto third. Over the years I've tried just about every item on the Tamarind menu. You can't go wrong with the wasabi crusted tenderloin or the lamb chops and I always order the Thai salad and Mongolian rib appetizer. In any event, if you feel you're getting short changed on what you're being served, you need to speak up.
