We have taken our kids on boats since they were little and they had vests for all sizes. The little kid ones have straps that go between their legs. 

How was the snorkeling and how many people does it take?

Belize is difficult as there. We did kids cave tubing and the youngest stayed with grandma on the ship.

Cozumel has so many options for beach breaks and day passes which are a nie option

thank you rayal8 . was there any younger kids on board as we do have a 3 year old in our group?   Its says they are free but just wondering if it seemed safe enough for young kids

We did Lamanai with https://belizecruiseexcursions.com/ . LOVED this tour. The boat ride on the new river is incredible and the ruins were amazing. Not sure if you still can climb the main temple or not but we did when we went and there were howler monkeys in the trees overhead. Definitely recommend this!

RIU is on Cabbage Beach on Paradise Island and Breezes is on Cable Beach.  Both are easy and safe to get to.  I prefer Cabbage Beach but it can be rough sometimes so if you want to swim or do watersports, go with Breezes. 

We have also done this and I agree, the Riu day pass was great
