So do I need detailed directions or just head N, W, S, or E from pier?
-
If we do take a water taxi (if its hot that day), where would we do this, at the same pier as the cruise ship?
-
We are on a Celebrity Summit cruise soon and was wondering if we could walk from where the cruise ship docks to the downtown area of Charlotte Amalie.

We are on a Celebrity Summit soon and was wondering if we could walk from where the cruise ship docks to the downtown area of Philipsburg.

When at the beach bars/restaurants on Maho Beach, is it better to pay in cash (do they accept US$) or pay by credit card.

We are on the Celebrity Summit. Can we walk from the cruise ship pier to Bridgetown, I had read that it was only a 1 mile walk. Is it doable?

My wife and I are very interested in taking this tour, Scenic Barbados Tour Cruise Line 4 hour tour and was wondering if any one has ever taken this excursion. Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks.

We are also considering going with scenicbarbadostours.net They have a Cruise Line Visitor 4 hour tour (2 hours sightseeing 2 hours beach time). The price is very reasonable, the only problem is emails from them are very slow in getting to me.

Got an email back from Sarah of Glory Tours, all is well, she will refund the money and confirmed cancelation. But when I tried to reply back to her, it still came back as "undeliverable". So still can't figure it out, weird. I guess I will just do an excursion through Celebrity on Barbados. Happy Cruising!

Okay, so my continuing saga with Glory Tours......I finally received my documentation today via email from them and Sarah asked me to reply back stating I got the "Activity Pass"......so I did and the email that I sent (which I just clicked "reply" on the email) came back as undeliverable......so they must have a huge glitch in their email address....I guess. So now debating whether I "stay the course" and hope everything will work out with this excursion, it is the "Explore & Discover Barbados" or keep with the cancelation??? Was wondering if anyone else is having trouble with Glory Tours email addresses?

WARNING ABOUT GLORY TOURS!!!!!! We booked an excursion through Glory Tours on Feb. 12 for an upcoming cruise. Here is what they stated in their email to us on Feb. 12 ""Within minutes of you submitting your order you will receive a purchase confirmation confirming the amount charged to your card. Following that Glory Tours will email you a activity pass within 24-48 hours of your purchase. Your tour pass is an important document and confirms that you are scheduled for the tour. You must have this document with you to join your activity ." Well we were supposed to receive our "Activity Pass" within 24 - 48 hours after we made payment, that was on Feb. 13, nothing from them yet so I emailed them....all 3 of their contact emails came back as undeliverable.....YIKES!!!! So I had to contact my credit card company to cancel this payment.

We are only going to Maho Beach while in port. So we are taking SMXdotcom Maho Beach Break Tour very reasonable price.

What I have been reading is that there are some good things to see on land.....so trying to find a "Land & Sea" tour. Found one through glory tours called "Explore & Discover Barbados" all day $75pp. Any advice would be appreciated, thanks!
-
Thanks Krooz, we are definitely booking this excursion!
-
Has anyone taken this tour "See Antigua by Sea"? It looked pretty good. Just wanting some feed back. Thanks.

Jacks gal,
Please keep us posted if you find a tour, this is on my "bucket List" too.

My wife and I are taking a Sunny Liston tour on Easter Sunday 2015 (that is when our RCCL cruise is in port) and have the option of taking the 9a.m., 10a.m. or 11a.m. pickup for shopping in Charlotte Amalie before the 12p.m. sightseeing portion of the tour begins. I was just wondering if there will be any shops open on Easter Sunday or will everything be closed down. We are not shoppers but would pick up a few trinkets or just look around the area, just didn't know if anything would be open and what time to choose for pickup. Thanks for any advice

hmm....I noticed Sarna has posted to a lot of cruisecritic posts for Fiji....with exactly the same reply about contacting her/him through email. I'm thinking that this is a ploy to self promote a business.

We have checked into Blue Lagoon cruise and also Captain Cook Cruise and chose Capt. Cook 7 night Yasawa Island cruise. The prices were about the same, our deciding factor was the staterooms. Blue Lagoon has small windows/portholes with the entry door on the inside hallway of the boat. Capt. Cook has two larger windows and a door going out to the outside rail, so it is like kind of having a small balcony.

Sarna, please post all your ideas and suggestions on this board. It is great information for all of us looking at things to do in Fiji, if we are staying near Nadi.

Been following this post too and wondering the same question....we will be in Fiji next summer.

We will be in port @ St. Thomas on Easter Sunday....was wondering if we take the ships excursion to St. John, self explore, how easy it will be to get a taxi back to the ferry from the beaches since it is a holiday. We were going to stay on St. Thomas and take an off-ship tour but so many of them will be closed on Easter Sunday. Any suggestions?

Is there an operator that offers both a spice Island tour & snorkel?
-
bluewater, are taxis readily available from Cinnamon Bay to get back to the ferry on Sundays?

Thanks for the directions. Is there a sidewalk or are you actually walking on the road/highway?
