Solo mi!  How good to hear from you!  I had not seen any posting from you in a long, long while and I now know why.  I've been branching out to SB, Crystal and Regent, but SS is still very dear to me in many ways.  Hope we can finally meet someday.  Now Camillus 112 and formerly Ithaca.

Camillus...so good to reconnect!  I corresponded with so many wonderful folks:  you, Mysty, To the Sunset (had the pleasure of being with him and his spouse on a wonderful crossing) and others (Lois, JP).  I hope we will meet someday!

  2. Thanks, Cam. I have certainly run into my share of obnoxious people in my travels. We all have, I am sure! I have never run into one who was using such filthy language...and it was directed at me! Further, an older Mexican, to boot. The positive thing which a number have addressed is that it caused us to commiserate with other passengers, and we formed some friendships and had a great time...due to the actions of a jerk.

  3. Thanks JP and TTS! I forgot to mention that our particular terrible person is Mexican. That is just so out of character for a Mexican man to be such a boor to an older woman. TTS saw his boorishness also. I agree with you TTS, the Barbados tour and lunch was not great. Worse still as far as I was concerned was trying to check in and leave the airport. It was simply awful for any of us flying to the US. Gates were incorrectly posted, we were sent to the wrong security check etc. etc. I will not do another cruise that disembarks there. The connections to the US are horrendous. I finally arrived in Dallas after 2 AM (my biological clock time).

I did see that Cork has been replaced with Waterford. I'm sorry I won't be seeing your hometown.

I did have fun the one night we spent together at dinner. I will now put away my gold shoes until 2019...(I hope your red boots won't be worn out by then as you have more cruises scheduled before I do. Please give Kim my regards. I am sure you are happy to be back home with your grand daughter and your pup.

  4. Have a wonderful cruise, Miss Sophia! I certainly did. The weather was perfect, the food was especially good, fellow cruisers were great...especially the TTS's. Unfortunately, I was not able to tell them farewell at the airport. I had one little problem on the cruise...thanks to Donald Trump! I was dining in La Terrazza on one of the formal nights, by myself. A man two tables down from me started swearing at me and calling me a Stupid American because of my Stupid President. I finally told him that I was Canadian.....he just kept it up. Finally, I was seated at another table. I reported it to the Hotel Manager but the guy continued to drink too much and bother folks the rest of the cruise. So many of my fellow passengers spoke to me regarding the incident. On a positive note, I certainly met a number of wonderful people!

  5. Yes, I was there last Nov. This is the SS booked hotel. I don't usually do this but with all that is going on in BCN, I figured it would be a good idea this time! Also, I usually fly from MX direct but the travel deal with SS was just too good to pass up. So, Dallas overnights going and coming. Oh well, all worth it....

  6. Sorry, I did not realize that it was so difficult to find! Yesterday, I just Googled Catalan News and there it was. Today, it can only be reached via Twitter. But, you found another report! Am I correct that you arrive 7 Nov.? i think I mentioned that I arrive 9 Nov. so let's hope we are not affected. Safe journey!

  7. My in-laws lived in Dubai and loved the Emirates benefits.

Another thing that I like about Avios, is the One World option. Last year I flew Iberia direct to Spain and that was convenient. Also, booking off season flights use less points. I fly American between Mex and US, so if I have to pay, I collect more points.
