  1. We have never tried 150 CP, but I agree about Giovanni's and Chef's Table. We have not been to Chops on Allure, but our past experiences on other ships keep us away. We may just need to try 150 CP the next time we are on a ship that has it.

p.s. You will love being so close to the Suites Lounge and Coastal Kitchen and you will love the ship.

  2. We have Grandeur booked for Bermuda next August. Comparing prices for around the same time Anthem is actually cheaper. Do people prefer Grandeur for Bermuda? The time docked in Bermuda is longer for the Anthem and she is newer with more to do on the ship. I guess I thought Anthem would be the more popular ship with higher prices. Or is it passenger capacity is so much higher than Granduer so the lower price attracts more people?

We may have some friends joining us on this cruise. If it was just the two of us I would not be so indecisive, but I want to make the best choice for them. They have only been on the Radiance several years ago.

*Still considering Summit for seven days. It depends on how long they want to be gone from their daughter.

  3. Our three sons who are now 19, 24 and 26 have always dressed up for formal night and still do. They wear pants and a polo shirt the other nights.

On our last cruise there was a family of four next to us on one of the formal nights. The two boys were late teens. Both were in shorts, t-shirt and baseball caps. One even had the hat on backwards. The dad was also wearing shorts. I could not believe the mom was okay with them wearing hats in MDR. Of course when they got up to leave she was in shorts.

I usually have no issue with people dressing casually for formal night, but this bothered me for some reason. At least take of your hat!

  4. I was kind of surprised that on our last few cruises that dear hubby was never invited to join the club since he does bet a lot and plays a lot on the table games, mainly blackjack and craps. Somehow we did end up getting free drinks on the Navigator in February. This past cruise on Allure he spoke to the casino host and checked in with her at the end of the cruise.

After rebooking with the casino rate today I looked at our new invoice and we did receive a discount of just over 50% which is better than the ongoing promotion at the time plus the additional savings of our cruise credit. It also said the same about slots, which he does not play.

If he ever gets a free cruise credit can it applied to the cost of a cruise of our choice or to a suite since that is our preferred stateroom?

  5. On our last cruise dear hubby "earned" a $400 cruise certificate. We already had a 4 day Enchantment cruise booked. I called to have the certificate applied and after we rebooked with the casino rate we saved an additional $500. A savings of $900 is not bad for a 4 day cruise. She told me they are working on the new program and there will be two types of points. Those you earn onboard towards the cruise certificate and the goodies and those that go towards the new tier program. She said she does not have all the information yet and to be watching email and regular mail in the future.

  6. I have attached a link to the show schedule and Compasses from our July 3-10 cruise on the Allure eastern Caribbean.

For quick reference the menu order was:

Mojo, Saffron (formal night), Pimiento, Basil, Shiitake, Jasmine (formal night) and Pomodoro. My least favorite nights are Shiitake and Pomodoro so we always eat elsewhere.

Giovanni's was as good as always. We also tried Izumi Hibachi and Sabor for the first time and they were both very good.

They did not have an All White Night this week.

The ten drink cards were offered on Day 4 for for $79 plus 18% gratuity.

I highly recommend St. Thomas Scuba and Snorkel for a private snorkel trip.

  7. If you have sailed on Celebrity and RCCL in a suite which ones would you find comparable? It looks like the Sky suite is smaller than a Grand suite. We booked a 5 day cruise to Bermuda in an Owners suite on Grandeur for August 2017, but have found that we can book a 7 day cruise on Celebrity Summit for a cheaper price during the same time frame in a Sky suite which currently includes internet, drink packages, gratuities, and $300 OBC. I am wondering if the Celebrity suite is more like the Grand suite.

  8. We were on the Allure last week and Giovanni's was as good as always. I am pretty sure it was $25 per person. As far as those who are celiac or gluten intolerant the servers are helpful with suggestions. We had two in our group who must eat gluten free and had no problem finding something good to eat.

  9. I agree about #3. We had the same issues.

We were able to call guest services, by dialing 0.

I am surprised about the arcade charges. There are signs in there that say there is a $50 daily limit and then the adult must approve a higher limit.

The Pomodoro menu on the last night must go. We never eat in MDR the last night, so we always do our extra tipping on the last night we are there. One of the chefs did say they are working on new menus for the Allure.

  10. We just returned from our cruise and we used St. Thomas Scuba and Snorkel. It was a private snorkel tour (there were five of us) and we went to some areas where we were the only boat. Web and Todd were awesome. Web would get in the water with us and point things out to us. The coral was so pretty and we saw a lot of fish and sea creatures. I would highly recommend them. They have a website and a Facebook page.
