  1. Now that some of our post vacation depression has lifted (and Shon finally uploaded tons of vacation pictures from his i-phone for me) it's time to share Shon and Suzie's fabulous Hawaiian journey cruise vacation details. This will likely be a long review because the trip was amazing! and long!! and the aforementioned tons of pictures that we took.

    About Us:

We are Shon and Suzie from Michigan. We've been on a lot of cruises and we're not totally loyal to any cruise line. We just like good deals, good people, good ships and good itineraries. We are super laid back, pretty silly and although we've been together forever, we're in love like we just met. ;):)

    About the Cruise:

This was our DREAM cruise. 15 days on Carnival Miracle from Long Beach, CA to Hawaii and back. Our sailing was November 28- December 13, 2015.

    (TBC)

  2. The upgrade fairy called today and offered me an ocean suite for $500 more.

    Should I take it?

    We say yes!

If it were just for the 2 of you it wouldn't necessarily be worth it but for 4, no question. We have been in extended balconies and suites. Suites are much roomier which I think would be helpful with the age range of people in your family. In a regular balcony room you wont have much room besides sleeping space. Even though you have 1 bathroom in the OS, the suites have a larger bathroom/dressing room area that I bet you will be glad for!

  3. I can't wait until one is completed so we can really hear about the extra features of the Journey cruises. Hopefully they will all be review happy so we feel like we experienced it too.

We are doing a Journey cruise to Hawaii in November and I will surely do a detailed review, too :)

  4. Honestly, I don't recall seeing anything under construction. Then again I wasn't looking, so it's possible they're building right now. Can anyone chime in on Margaritaville?

When we were there a few weeks ago, they had signs outside of a brick building at the end of one of the shopping strips. It looked Open so we went in but it wasn't "open-open". They had pictures on the walls but no tables, etc. It looked too small to be a Margaritaville to us though. You could take pictures on the Margaritaville props there.

  5. I enjoyed the salad and the roast beef sandwich. I think the sandwich had a little more fat in in than I anticipated. The meat had very little salt in it, since the bun had some coarse salt on top. We brushed most of that off since we're the type of people who like to order unsalted pretzels. The yellow mustard and horseradish went nicely with the meat, however I wished I brought a little jar of Grey Poupon with me. I had been planning to do that and totally forgot. Oh well. If you're interested in one of those sandwiches, be sure to put that mustard (or even a spicy mustard) on your packing list! :p

You are so right about those roast beef sandwichs! Our first one had a bunch of flavor and juicy saltiness but one we had the next day was like you descibe, much more bland. I thought maybe the problem was that the Au Jus was seasoned sometimes and then "plain" the other times.

Anyway, it was definately MUCH better (near perfect even!) when it was seasoned and juicy. :) We, too, wiped off that big salt on the bun. It was like little stones...lol.

  6. Your welcome :)! We were going to just do the SAS shuttle and taxis but with 6 people in our group and all of the luggage, the mini van ends up being cheaper and more convenient since we are in the Miami area for 24 hours pre-cruise.

    Happy sailing!

I know what you mean with the bigger group transportation. It can get ridiculous.

We are actually flying into Orlando (cruising from FLL) because tickets were super duper cheap. I booked the one way car with the code for both ends of the trip so in all it saved us $50.

I hope you have a great trip as well.

    --and thanks again!:D

  7. Yep! Closet! It's not too confusing, is it? :)

Yay. I was right. If I would have stopped second guessing myself, I would have had that settled days ago! :o

    Thanks for the help!:)

I am actually happy that its by the closet because it'll extend our living area with the balcony right there next to the couch.
