  1. Received first round of Moderna last week.  Zero complications, except for a little  soreness at the injection site that last  24 hrs.  Second round, first week in Feb.  Advice: get the shot, the anxiety relief is felt almost immediately.

  2. Bought it at $17 (womp, womp, waited too long) but still happy nonetheless.  Although, I must say runway became clearer on Friday when reports out of England say that health officials are ready to approve Pfizer and AstraZeneca very soon.

  3. Based on a 'desk top' analysis of the parent company Balance Sheet coupled with workout measures taken and other workout options that could be taken down the road, NCLH should have sufficient liquidity for the next 12 months.  If the crisis intensifies beyond this calendar yr, NCLH becomes a prime candidate for a takeover acquisition.

  4. July-August is a good time to do it.  Did it many times when I crewed on the SS United States ('67-'69); and more recently as a passenger on the Riviera in July/August last yr.  The seas were fine every time with one exception and that was a late sept. crossing from southampton to ny.

  5. Very sad to see that pic of the rusty BIG U.  I worked two summers on the SS United States ('67&'68).  It was a great experience and allowed me to make some serious money for college and 1st auto purchase.  The work was hard but the fellow crew members (mostly americans) were terrific and welcoming to a teen will little experience.

  6. This is just a meek attempt by "O" to offset the super negativism resultant from the major pull back in loyalty rewards to "O's" most loyal members announced six months ago!

There's NO WAY they can continue to justify not having "grandfathered" those loyal participants that reached appropriate levels over the course of time. They needed to do that cutback because they, "O", were choking on the "stupendous" benefits provided way back when that were provided by the senior members ot the organization. And, yes, that contingent of members remain in place now.

Spot on. Although, I think you underestimate the benefit of allowing OBC for excursions etc.. This is going to get a very warm overdue welcome.

  7. Metrics seen by wall street analysts show robust growth in every single price point segment of the market with an upward bending price trend (almost hockey stick shaped) when you look at it starting in 2007 and projecting out to 2022. This will result in strong growth in alternative travel mediums. ( This helps to explain the recent explosive growth in RV travel usage. ) Rail should also benefit.

  8. We are booked on the May 29, 2019 Alaska cruise and are considering the Rocky Mountaineer add on. Has anyone done this and is it worth it ?

Wife and I did it 4 yrs ago with friends and it was fabulous. If you have time, add lake louise. Have fun.

  9. Contemplating the New York-East Coast-Bermuda-New York cruise this August. Anyone have experience with this trip. Sounds great but wondering about heavy seas, hurricane risk between Bermuda and NYC. Any suggestions for what to see and do.

DW and I did this last yr in august. The cruise/weather was fine. However, the prior cruise, same route, did experience some weather. It's hit or miss.

  10. Seemingly the good folks from Oceania read our posts to gauge the room temperature. In that regard, if they are reading our posts, please consider (if not too late) booking a guest lecturer that is an expert on Viking History. DW and I just finished viewing the first two seasons of 'Vikings' on the History Channel--it was terrific. To my fellow contributors, please feel free to suggest other lectures. I know this Baltic cruise is excursion intensive, but it looks like we will have several sea days to enjoy a good lecture.

  11. Judging from the enthusiastic appreciation we observed at Don's lectures, knowledge and a wealth of information were exactly what most folks were looking for. He certainly enhanced our voyage.

DK was very good. DW and I ran into him on shore at a Chilean cookout and he was pleasant and most courteous.
