Wondering if anyone has had good luck with any given app for converting currency?

While looking, have discovered many require an active connection to work correctly so may or may not work when visiting the floating market or street vendors.

Does this work on all Princess Ships? Can it be used to communicate with others in your group? Leaving on Caribbean Princess in March. Thanks in advance :-)

I just used the Alamo location on Eller Drive this past week.

 

I was supposed to return my car rental at FLL but when I got there and asked about the shuttle, they told me they no longer have one as they now have a location by the port that has a shuttle (just opened 3 weeks ago). They said we could return our car there so that's what we did. Didn't have any problems doing that and we waited about 10 minutes for the shuttle to the port.

 

When we returned from the cruise, we got off the ship and walked to the car rental companies pick-up location, and 2 minutes later, an Alamo shuttle showed up.

 

Once we got to the Eller location, I gave them my reservation number - a reservation I had for FLL, not Eller - and they didn't say anything about my reservation being for a different location. It took about 15 minutes to get a car as they didn't have a full-size one ready.

 

Everything worked great.

My wife and I, going on our 7th cruise in 11 days, have developed a nice ritual for the first few hours.

 

We normally board several hours ahead of time and head straight to our cabin and unpack our hand luggage. We also meet our room steward(s) at this time. For us, time in the cabin at any time during the cruise is a necessary evil, so we unpack properly but quickly.

 

We then excitedly explore the boat from end to end. We then have a light buffet lunch, do other unpacking if the main luggage has arrived, do the Muster Drill, then race as fast as we can to top deck ready for the sailaway party!

 

We always just watch the dancing but, this time, we're doing Nutbush ourselves!

Newbies here again.......what actually happens at Sail Away Party? Is this an everybody party or a class party? Thanks!

We are going to the ABCs in March and have excursions planned at each port for 1/2 of each day.

Is it allowed to return to the ship to eat or change clothes mid-day and then leave the ship again for shopping or walking around.

What rental car company? You could drop it off at locations surrounding Port Everglades unless it's Alamo.

Sadly it is Alamo, but received a good rate.

Don't know why it wouldn't work.

 

Adding in rental car and gas, plus an additional hotel night, is it still saving you money?

There are 4 of us sharing the additional costs.

First time cruisers here again :)

Our travel plan in March is to fly into PBI the day before our cruise. Rent a car there, and drive to Port everglades the next morning. Drop off all passengers and luggage at port, drive car to Ft Lauderdale airport car rental, then take shuttle or taxi back to cruise port.

We would then do just the opposite after debarkation flying out of PBI the next day.

This was planned this way because we found good flights to W. Palm Beach and good hotel pricing 1/2 in between during spring break season.

Does anyone know if the Aruba Golf Club is still open and operational?

I know there are a couple of other options, but we were looking for this one unique experience.

If so, what approx would a taxi run from the cruise port and back again.

First time cruiser here :-) So if I understand correctly, If I put X number of dollars into my on board account, it will go against all charges incurred while cruising and if I do not use it all up, I will get the remainder back at the end of the cruise?

Thinking of doing this ahead of time instead of buying the beverage package because we probably would not be drinking alcohol on port days, but the hubby could put away a few on sea days.
