  1. I would have said something. I have allergies also, and just like those people think they are entitled to smoke illegal substances, I am entitled to clean fresh air. I would be PISSED if I paid for a balcony and felt like I couldn't go outside for fear of an asthma attack. Doesn't matter what people's opinions are about marijuana, or the fact that people are more "perfect" than others......they chose to bring illegal substances on board and they are being disruptive in their usage of it. My health or my children's shouldn't suffer because someone else is being selfish.

  2. As mentioned, you can only get the discounted gift cards online. However you can get gift cards at Kroger and get 4x fuel points when getting them. ;)

I looked it up on our grocery store and they give 20 cents off per gallon of gas for every $50 in gift cards you spend. Our trip is paid off, with one excursion and our drink packages and tips prepaid. But we can at least get some for the other excursions not planned yet, and for spending money :)

  3. SO Im traveling with my family and my husband isnt one to leave the ship especially in Cozumel! We have 3 little boys 4,5,and 7 which do we go to?

Playa is $30 and includes all toys

Paradise is $3 to get in then $18 for toys

Sanchos is free I believe to get in then $12 for toys...

BUT we are 1 of 6 ships in port that day :( And did I mention the hubby hates crowds.

Ive read tons of reviews and cant decide, any help/opinion is super appreciated!

How do you find out how many ships are in port when you are going?

We are doing an excursion to Passion Island the day we are there. Seemed to make the most sense for our needs that day. I was too scared to do the other beaches on our own, and after pricing it out with food and activities and transportation, for us, it was easier to book an excursion. Plus, I think the catamaran might be fun. We'll see!

  4. They had a pina colada in a pineapple as a special on a sea day when I was on the Freedom a few years ago. My husband had to have one, it was pretty fun. I do not recall the exact price, but I want to say it may have been around $15.

Thank you! I'm good with that! Truthfully, if it's my only drink the whole cruise (I'm not a huge drinker), I want to enjoy it and it's worth the $15! I prefer a daquari over pina colada but I'd settle for that if it was in a pineapple! Somehow the pineapple shell makes it sooooooo much more tropical!

All of the drinks on that menu posted look amazing! I may have to step out of my comfort zone!

  5. If not on the ship, I've for sure seen these at various ports along with drinks in real coconuts.

Thank you! On RC they had a special kiosk on the boat near the pool. For $12 you'd get a pineapple filled with any frozen drink you wanted. Well worth the $12! I graduate with my master's degree the Tuesday we are on the ship, and I plan on drinking SOMETHING that day!

  6. Our final payment is coming due. the question is can I make the payment(with agent) by ach(check by phone-money is there), since debit cards have limits to what can be drawn daily?

I paid our entire trip up front using our debit card and it didn't have a problem at all.

  7. Just to point out, carnival is the only cruise line I've been on that holds muster drills this way. We have also cruise Norwegian and celebrity and they both have the decency to hold the mister drills in the theaters and lounges for the most part; no heat, plenty of seat, just have to sit there while they do the briefing. And they usually conducted in a timely fashion - probably because people actually show up since they are so painless

Royal Carribean was also in a theater that was air conditioned. I don't remember it taking more than 15 minutes

  8. I'm happy to read this. DW and I will be in Falmouth in October. Part of the reason for choosing the itinerary we did was because DW REALLY wants to see the falls. We recently found out she is pregnant and will be around 22 weeks when we cruise. When looking at the excursions through the cruise line, they all say pregnant women should not do the excursion. Hearing someone else successfully did it while pregnant helps a lot! :)

As a labor and delivery nurse, that would make me very nervous to do this. There's a reason there is a warning. If the tube flips over and your wife hits a rock with her belly or anything else relatable, it can be very dangerous for her and the baby's health. Any sudden jars to the belly can be unsafe. The water can be unpredicatable and there are rough spots. I would protect that precious cargo and book another trip for after baby so she can enjoy that later on. But in the meantime, find something that is safe and enjoyable for her!

  9. We didn't book an excursion in Falmouth. Partially because it was our first cruise and the thought of going an hour and a half away for a beach or excursion scared me. I was afraid to miss the boat. (Again, we were first timers....if I didn't see the boat in my immediate field of vision, I got scared). We just stayed in the square and looked around in the shops, ate at Margaritaville, and swam in the pool there. I think next time I'd book an excursion. The shopping was nice, but I would have wanted to enjoy more of what was to offer in Jamaica. Next cruise we are going to Ocho Rios...much closer to the action!

  10. yif you can't find something to eat on a cruise, then you are REALLY picky! .

I agree! My 6 year old is super picky, and even with her, I KNOW I'll be able to find food for her to eat. They have all the basic foods up to the expensive foods I'd never try. My daughter will eat "naked" pasta, meaning no sauce, no butter, no oil, no seasoning. Just plain old dry cooked noodles. I'm sure we'll be able to find that. I have no hesitation about the foods and whats available. I think all cruise ships keep that in mind when they plan meals. Something for everyone! And hey, if the MDR doesn't have it, sneak it in from Guys Burgers ;)

  11. How did you use the app without incurring roaming charges from your carrier (mine is Verizon)? This is what worries me. Usually we just turn our phones off before we embark. I'd like to take advantage of this, and even possibly the $5/cruise option, but am worried if I leave my phone on I'll get Verizon surcharges.

We don't sail for another 63 days, but I checked it out already. If you click the bottom of the countdown page, say you have boarded, it will give you instructions that say to put your phone in airplane mode so it doesn't do roaming charges. The phone through the app will work for the messaging only using a special sensory thingy in the ship (I'm VERY technical as you can tell).

  12. Sounds odd to me. I've only went on one other cruise and our room attendant met us immediately. By the second time we saw him in the hallway, he already knew us by name. I was amazed. It was not Carnival and we had twice a day service. I personally think the less in the room the better, however, there are times where it is necessary. I liked coming back from dinner and having the next day's itinerary in the room waiting.

I was wondering about the fast turn around of people leaving the boat and then boarding with such a quick time to do laundry and prepare the rooms for the next group of cruisers. Kind of scary to think about if they can't get to it all. Obviously your attendant doesn't pay attention to details if the sofa still had old sheets on it. GROSS! I agree, I wouldn't be pulling tips yet, but I would definitely keep note of it and maybe get a percent off the next cruise.

  13. I waaaayyyy over packed last year for our first trip. Seriously we are bringing swimsuits, a cover up, and like 2 outfits. No need for much more! A pair of flip flops, a nice pair of shoes, and water shoes. That's the extent of it for us.

  14. sk8rmomof3--following along. First off, I've cruised many times of 4 different cruise lines, and I've NEVERTHELESS just been dumped off and expected to find my way to my excursion!! You tickets that will be left in your cabin tell you where to meet, and there are people holding signs so you get with the correct group. So relax on that matter.

As for cabin position, they say to book the lowest deck possible and mid ship if you have problems with sea sickness. Usually I just call someone from cruise line--a cruise consultant--rather than do total booking online--and they help me get the cabin I want.

Let me read further to see if there is anything else I can help you with. [emoji4]

Thanks! Although it's not our first cruise (it's the second)....it's our FIRST with Carnival, and FIRST with kids! So I have some anxiety! I had anxiety with the first one as well, but I knew once we got there it would all work out. As my mom told me, the cruise ship has gone through this before and they know to anticipate needs! It all worked itself out!

  15. Lower deck, (more sway side to side possible on the high passenger decks) and mid ship is most stable. But avoid high deck, front of the ship at all costs if you are sensitive to motion. My first cruise, they "upgraded" me from a mid deck inside to a porthole cabin at the very front of the ship. When we hit rough water going by cabo, it was like riding the maliboomer - there was so much up & down movement of the ship. My name was Ralph. Never, never again the front of the ship.

If you don't get seasick easy, your front of the ship 8th deck cabin may be fine! Or if you have calm waters. But I know when the seas are rough, it's hard for me to work out as the gym is on the top deck - I really feel it in some parts of the ship more than others.

I checked the deck plans last night and our room is in the back of the ship on 8th floor. I thought it was the front.....
