While the future cruise credit is nice to get, it is not in compliance with Regent's own Cruise Contract.  Wondering if they mentioned in the letter why the FCC and not the credit for the current cruise as written in the cruise contract?

    2 hours ago, ronrick1943 said:

I agree it's a good effort, however the credit should be off current invoice---not making you spend a whole lot more to get the credit.  Regent should have pride in their product that you'd want to cruise again-not force you to cruise just to get a credit.  Someone at Regent needs to talk to Regents PR Department and figure it out.

Please allow me to clarify further - The voyage in discussion is outside of final payment.   Therefore, the FCC may be applied to the this voyage, thus reducing the invoice price.     It is your choice whether you with to apply it to this voyage or another future voyage.

We are on the 5/9/21 10 day cruise on Explorer.  On my bookings on Regent website the cruise title is gone.  If it has changed to 7 day we will cancel.  Ten days was actually shorter than we like.   Hmm???

    rcandkc,

The voyage you are on has been lengthened to 11 nights and should appear online shortly.  Wrangell is the additional port that was added.

Subject cruise, along with the Hong Kong to Vancouver Grand Voyage, have been removed from website; anyone know reason?

    Marc,

Information pertaining to a berthing conflict in Vancouver at the end of the Grand Voyage was communicated to booked guests this afternoon.  Ultimately, we had to move the debark date from May 9 to the 8th instead.  The communications shared today outline the available options to those on the single voyage, as well as the Grand Voyage.

When the world cruise is announced/sold - can you but just some segment(s) of it rather than the whole cruise?

    Kiwifromkiev,

The opening on July 10 is for full World Cruise bookings only.

At this time, we expect to open up availability for individual segments early next year.

MIAMI (Jun. 21, 2019) Regent Seven Seas Cruises®, the leading luxury ocean cruise line, this week celebrates the inaugural voyage of Seven Seas Navigator® following her two-week refurbishment in Brest, France. The first guests to experience her stunning improvements are currently sailing aboard an 11-night London to Dublin voyage. Notable enhancements to the intimate, 490-guest, all-suite ship include:

    Restaurants

Guest favorite, Prime 7, a Contemporary American steakhouse, is completely reimagined with dramatic new appeal. Dark imperial blue walls accented with gold, light leather chairs and rich wood finishes provide a refined and elegant backdrop for prime steaks and seafood. Large artwork, marble sculptures and intricately patterned floors were added to enhance the décor.

    Public Areas

The welcoming Navigator Lounge was refreshed with new furnishings enabling more space for guests to sit and enjoy coffee during the day and cocktails around the piano in the afternoon and evenings.

    Navigator Lounge

Stars Lounge was completely reimagined with new carpet, new furniture and new wall coverings in light dusty rose and champagne tones highlighted with gold. Marble tables glimmer under evening dance floor lights where guests can enjoy cocktails and dancing before dinner or after the evening performance in the Constellation Theater.

    Stars Lounge

Seven Seas Navigator was upgraded with new carpeting, modern wall coverings and sleek metal for a distinctive contemporary design on the staircases and in the Atrium to welcome guests with a light, airy and modern feel. New Italian marble floors were installed on elevators, and carpeting and wall coverings were installed in all guest hallways. New artwork is featured in guest corridors.

    Spa

The spa is now a relaxing haven of tranquility. The entrance features pebble-stone tiles that lead to an inviting light wood spa desk where attentive staff will assist guests with the treatments of their choice. Treatment rooms have been updated to provide soothing environments for a variety of services. The relaxation area has been updated with light tones, making it a perfect retreat before or after a spa visit. The beauty salon has been enlarged, now featuring a dedicated pedicure and manicure area that has floor-to-ceiling ocean views. Stations for hair treatments and make-up round out the array of services available in the top deck spa.

    Guest Suites

Suite entrances are warm and inviting with dark wood doors and new signage. The in-suite closets now feature more chests and drawers for additional storage space to benefit guests sailing on extended voyages. New plush carpeting was added to all suites as well as fresh upholstery and the private balconies boast refinished teak wood for a refined cruising experience.

Additional enhancements guests may not notice include a new infrared barbeque grill at the Pool Grill that extracts and wisps away smoke, making for a more comfortable outdoor guest dining experience. New air conditioning and water pipes were installed throughout the entire vessel.

Seven Seas Navigator’s refurbishment is her first since 2016, and with this latest drydock, she has been completely refurbished from bow-to-stern over the past three years. Since 2016, Regent Seven Seas Cruises has invested more than $150 million refurbishing and modernizing its best-in-class fleet, so its four ships remain the leader in luxury cruising and offer guests an unrivaled experience.

"When guests step on board Seven Seas Navigator, they will find she continues to reflect Regent’s elegant style and famous attention to detail that fashionably honors her heritage as a beloved, intimate luxury ship," said Jason Montague, Regent Seven Seas Cruises president and chief executive officer. "Seven Seas Navigator now reflects the consistent look and feel of our fleet, but with special touches that make her distinctly unique."

MIAMI (Jun. 18, 2019) Demonstrating its commitment to offer luxury travelers an unrivaled experience, Regent Seven Seas Cruises today revealed 65 new Mediterranean and Northern Europe shore excursions curated with local tour operators debuting exclusively for guests sailing on the inaugural 2020 season of Seven Seas Splendor. The excursions will expand to all Regent ships sailing Europe starting in 2021.

Soar in a helicopter over the gorgeous countryside outside Monaco en route to an unforgettable meal at La Bastide de Moustiers, created by the famed French chef Alain Ducasse, or stay grounded on an electric-bike tour of La Cadiere d’Azur, savoring the bouquets of the many vintages found throughout the vineyards around Toulon, France. Tour the stunning beauty around Sorrento, Italy, and admire Caravaggio’s masterpiece, The Seven Works of Mercy, on display at Pious Mount of Mercy Church in Naples, or learn under the tutelage of a master chef in Greenock, Scotland to discover there is much more than just haggis to Scottish cuisine.

"We collaborated with the best local tour operators in the region to curate unique and memorable experiences that will result in a truly unrivaled experience for guests sailing on Seven Seas Splendor’s inaugural season," said Jason Montague, president and chief executive officer of Regent Seven Seas Cruises. "Many of these excursions are being offered for the first time by our tour operator partners and are new for luxury travelers. With nearly half of these experiences included in Regent’s Free Unlimited Shore Excursions program, our new offerings are one more example of how Seven Seas Splendor will perfect luxury."

Spanning across Croatia, France, Greece, Monaco, Montenegro, Ireland, Italy, Spain and the United Kingdom, the excursions offer excitement, deep learning and enriching opportunities, such as:

    • MAGNIFICENT VILLAGES OF FONTAINE DE VAUCLUSE AND L’ISLE SUR LA SORGUE. (France) Explore two charming Provence villages in Marseille, France that revolve around the meandering Sorgue River that connects them. The river’s source is a powerful spring in the village of Fontaine de Vaucluse that gushes an abundance of turquoise water through the beautiful Provençal countryside. It’s the fastest-flowing water in France. Jacques Cousteau tried to reach the spring’s underwater source in the 1940s but the current was so strong he turned back. Guests will see the famed spring and other landmarks in the ancient village, which has long inspired writers and artists. (Included in voyage price)

    • ACOUSTIC FLAMENCO AND THE MINES (Spain) Enjoy a unique tour of a former mine that culminates with an underground flamenco performance of songs that salute the mining industry. The Carthaginians and Romans first mined the area around the village of Parque Minero more than 2,000 years ago. Mining reached its peak in the 19th century, as guests will discover while walking through the vast complex of caves in the Agrupa Vicenta mine. The acoustics below the surface are excellent for flamenco, the soulful instrumental guitar music synonymous with southern Spain. (Included in voyage price)

    • A VISIT TO AMBELONAS WINE ESTATE (Greece) Tour a centuries-old estate in Corfu’s fertile interior and sample wines paired with organic delicacies that reflect the owners’ passion for preserving traditional methods of production. After departing from the pier, guests enjoy a brief, picturesque drive into the interior of Corfu, a fertile agricultural area that inspired the island’s nickname — the Emerald Island. At the Ambelonas estate, guests are welcomed with a cup of herbal tea that is highly regarded for its refreshing, restorative qualities. During the tour that follows, guests walk through the estate’s vineyard with one of the owners and learn about the two varieties of grapes that are grown at Ambelonas: red skopelitiko and white kakotrygis. A highlight of the visit to Ambelonas is a tasting of wines thoughtfully paired with delicacies prepared on the estate. (Included in voyage price)

    • CARAVAGGIO EXCLUSIVE VISIT AT PIO MONTE. (Italy) In Naples, marvel at "The Seven Works of Mercy," Caravaggio’s exquisite oil painting that depicts seven acts of kindness on a single large canvas, while the curator elaborates on its artistic significance. With Mount Vesuvius looming in the background, guests will then proceed through town to the 100-year-old restaurant, La Bersagliera, a lovely waterfront setting for lunch. ($229 per guest)

    • MUSSEL TASTING TOUR BY SPEED BOAT. (Montenegro) Cruise through beautiful Boka Bay in Montenegro to the islet Our Lady of the Rocks and then sample freshwater mussels at a farm that grows and harvests them. The leisurely boat ride will be extraordinarily scenic, especially approaching Our Lady of the Rocks, a small, manmade islet created to commemorate the sailors from the town of Perast, which lies directly across the bay. Boka Bay is also known for producing some of Montenegro’s finest mussels, and guests will enjoy an insider’s look at the process at a commercial mussel farm. ($129 per guest)

    • ELECTRIC-BIKE IN THE VINEYARDS FROM LA CADIERE D’AZUR (France). Ride an electric bike from the enchanting village of La Cadiere d’Azur in France through the vineyards of the Bandol region to sample a selection of characteristic wines and be served fougasse, a crusty Provençal flat bread whose origins date to Roman times. The electronic bike allows guests to ride farther and negotiate hills with considerably less effort than a traditional bike. ($199 per guest)

All 65 new excursions can be found here.

Jason, what was the conflict?  Chinese government?  It is amazing how few itineraries include China in last few years.

    Marc

    Marc,

We want to be as transparent as possible. However, I would prefer to focus on accommodating impacted guests vs attempting to assess responsibility. There was a port conflict that we needed to resolve and we did our best to minimize the impacts as best we could.  It was not ideal and we remain hopeful that the majority of guests will have some understanding due to this voyage being a year away. It's not easy and understandably we have disappointed some people. We recognize not everyone will be happy with the itinerary changes, but we're going to do our best to mitigate the disappointment and willing to find other reasonable solutions should they have no interest in the revised voyage.

We were just informed that our 2020 Bali to Shanghai cruise has been "enhanced" by changing it to a Bali to Tokyo cruise.   We don't consider this an enhancement.

    makai 7,

Apologies for this inconvenience and disruption to your travel plans. It was not our intention to disappoint you or any other guest booked on the two impacted voyages. Ultimately, there was a conflict that we were not able to resolve and it pushed us to alter the voyage itinerary. We attempted to enhance the two voyages with additional visits to Japan in good faith and due to overwhelming response to our 2019 and 2021 Japan programs. We remain hopeful that you'll have understanding since this voyage is one year out and that you retain flexibility in switching your voyages dates or the ability to cancel without any penalty. We hope you'll give the updated itineraries a closer look as well as the added land programs that complement the turn in Tokyo. Should you wish to discuss alternatives, our team is available to assist you or your travel advisor in finding a satisfactory solution.

I apologize again for the inconvenience this has caused.

We are supposed to have a $250 OBC for our upcoming Amazon cruise. I received an email from Regent this past December stating that the OBC would be applied to our sailing within the next 14 days.

After logging in to our account, I've searched the View Profile and My Account sections of the RSSC website as throughly as I'm able, I just cannot find any reference to this OBC. Can anyone help?

This sounds like the Ambassador Offer submission confirmation email that you received. We recently updated this language as the shipboard credit will not be added unless the eligibility requirements are satisfied. It originally stated the 14 days you mention for it to be applied, however, we clarified this further to make it more clear regarding the eligibility confirmation.  Please verify with your travel advisor or our reservations team to confirm the status.

  12. Regent is proud to include gratuities in the cruise fare for all onboard employees and tipping is not expected onboard.  We hope that none of our guests ever feel intimidated otherwise.

Guests wishing to tip for “above and beyond” service is a personal decision.  It would be difficult for us to police this, nor do we want to develop crew restrictions around this.  As it relates to the crew fund, the crew themselves decide how the money is spent, and it is by a committee on each ship.  The Crew Welfare Fund is a cash account and the reason why we do not offer the ability to charge contributions to your onboard account.  Instead, we offer the ability to complete a cash advance (without any fees) and in turn, donate it to the crew fund.

I would also like to acknowledge the perceptions regarding staff visibility in Compass Rose on the last evening of the voyage.  As many of you know, our crew gets to know many guests quite well and often develop long-lasting friendships. We only wish to encourage this and as appropriate.  The last night of the cruise is typically the last chance to extend fond farewells and mentions for a safe return home along with hopes that they’ll soon return.  However, given the feedback mentioned, we will review with the team and train towards additional sensitivity around this to avoid any potential misperceptions in the future.

But on the WC you basically get almost everything that Platinum gets anyways.  Except for unlimited phone calls, as I understand.

    Wendy,

WC guests receive a selection of distinct perks not offered through the loyalty benefits. Ie. Free Luggage Shipping, Medical, Visas, Shoreside events, and a Pre-Cruise Gala.

The WC amenities that overlap with the loyalty benefits are limited to Free Laundry ultimately and you could also consider the Free Phone time, but that is earned through the loyalty tier achievement (as guests come on these voyages as a Gold-level member at minimum and would receive up to 3 hrs. phone time per segment.)  This last point may be one that is overlooked as our WC guests automatically achieve Gold-status immediately due to the length of the WC voyage.

On the flip-side, Platinum members receive a Free Custom Air Service, and 10% savings on Regent Choice tours, Pre- and Post-Hotels, Land Programs and the Overland programs that we've mentioned.

  14. Happy to add to this -

The new tier kicks in from the moment you board, therefore, the pre-cruise benefits are not applicable until the subsequent sailing.

The savings on shore ex and such may be retroactively added once on board. For this to apply, the tour must be still available to book and it is suggested you inquire about these adjustments on the first day of the voyage.

The Platinum and Titanium benefit savings is applicable to Regent Choice, Pre- and Post-Hotel, as well as Pre- and Post-Land Programs.  As you can imagine, these savings can add up, particularly when adding hotels or land package costs.

    1. Will each cabin have one of their dispensers ? That would be a lot of plumbing in each suite.

    2. If not, how will the bottle(s) be refilled ? Will their be a set amount of bottles for each passenger (1 ? ) and you go and refill at refill stations ? Or will Cabin staff refill ?

    3. How do I get more water during the night (or day) when the bottle runs out ? Call room service ? Slipper on to the next refill station ? Usually we have a few bottles of water in the fridge at all times. If there is just one bottle per passenger...this might be an issue.

    4. Statement by Regent announces reusable plastic bottles for off the ship use. Those can be refilled where ? Vero site states that their bigger refill stations can provide 75 liters of chilled water per hour. That'll be fun when leaving the ship when everyone tries to refill their bottles at the exit :-)  And we thought TSA lines were bad :-)

    Gcto,

I'm happy to answer your questions:

Q: Will each suite have a water dispenser?

A: All suites will be provided with one-liter glass bottles of Vero Still and/or Vero Sparkling water that the suite attendant will replenish on a regular basis or as the guests’ request – exactly the same as the free bottled water service is handled on board today.

Q: Where will the reusable bottles be refilled?

A: By year-end we will offer Vero Water for guests to take ashore, during the second phase of the implementation. We expect to supply all guests with their own personal, eco-friendly reusable Vero Water bottle which will be theirs to use for on-shore experiences during the cruise, and to take home after the voyage. For now, we will continue to offer all guests our current free bottled water service to go ashore.  Additional details on the type of reusable bottles and the process to refill will be shared in the coming months.

Then Voyager cancelled Tortola...does anyone know why?

    PaulaJK,

SS Voyager was in Havana yesterday, and did not depart as planned due to the adverse weather affecting the area earlier in the day.  The port authorities restricted navigation to daylight hours only, therefore, the ship remained alongside and departed early this morning.  Due to the unexpected overnight in Havana, the Tortola visit was unfortunately impacted.  The ship is now sailing towards Antigua for a planned Friday morning arrival.

I recently called Regent with a visa question concerning China that I had already discussed with my TA.   I’m a bit compulsive and wanted to verify the correct information.  I called Regent and they didn’t immediately know the answer and had to contact the destinations department.   They said they would send the answer to my travel agent.  I said “Send it to me.”   They refused, as all communication has to go through our agent.  In the 21st century, this seems absurd.  So, 10 days later...crickets.   I have no idea whether Regent or my agent dropped the ball.   But, knowing my agent, I suspect Regent.

I think this process is cumbersome and disrespectful to a passenger with questions for the home office.   Jason O’Keefe, what say you?

    forgap,

Thanks for bringing this our attention and I can add the following insight:

When you book through a travel agent, all cost related items associated with the booking are referred back to your travel agent as they control the administration of the reservation.  Our Reservations team can answer only general questions about the ship, accommodation details and/or itinerary/destination information.  Plus, they can assist with any elements related to the MyAccount section of the website and assist with pre-booking shore ex and dining requests.  Regent Choice tours are the exception from a cost-related perspective, as all other cost related items are referred back to your agent to complete.

Visa's fall into the cost category.  Some agents will secure these for their guests independently of RSSC and the reason why we do not facilitate for guests directly.  We have no way of knowing this detail and rather than confuse things potentially, we simply pass your questions on to them to further follow-up with you.

This may seem absurd from a guest perspective, but it's just good business practice for us as we strongly value our travel agent relationships. They get annoyed when we give information out to their clients without their involvement, and they prefer for us to pass these details back to them for handling.

Now, the fact that you did not receive a follow-up to your inquiry is another issue.  Feel free to send me a direct note w/ your booking # and I'll follow-up w/ the team to find out what happened.  Follow-through on these types of inquiries is critical and just good customer service.  This should not happen and am happy to address this issue should anyone encounter.

    eliana,

Currently these are available in Med & Northern Europe during 2019 and in Buenos Aires and Montevideo in South America in early 2019.  Not sure if you're on the Jan 20th voyage, but there should be a couple of options at the end in BA and Montevideo accordingly.

Additional destinations will be added throughout 2019.

I checked the excursion on our April Barcelona to Venice cruise and found several Small Group excursions. I was a little mystified to see that the SG excursions usually show a three walking man difficulty while the standard excursions with the same description have no walking men.

Are the SG tours much more physically demanding than the normal tours, or are the normal tours actually tougher than the descriptions would indicate?  Or is it just a typo?

hoping for a reply from Jason here. 🙏

    jeb_bud,

I have learned that the SG excursions should match the effort level of the standard tour option, therefore, no difference except the exclusivity of a smaller group.
