  1. I miss the list of excursions under each port with the mouse-over descriptions. That was preferable to having to scroll pages. But the larger typeface on the descriptions is nice. And I can see where you can over one or the other' date=' but not both.

I do hope they'll roll out more functionality. Something I mentioned on the pop-up survey that appeared once when I used the site was the ability to see the excursion list and descriptions when looking at the itinerary in Booked Cruises, prior to the cruises becoming available for booking.

And a search box. Who has a website these days without a search function?[/quote']

    wishiwerecruisin',

We agree and our team will see what we can do about allowing the option to condense and expand the content in our shore excursion listings. It's a great suggestion!

Yes, the survey feedback you mentioned and responded to is exactly what we're reviewing to be able to develop further enhancements. We obtained a lot of information from that pop-up and have been prioritizing those details over the course of the last several weeks. Several more good things to come!

Search functionality is also planned and to come in a future release.

  2. Greetings,

Thank you for all of the great feedback, please keep it coming. As with anything new there are likely to be a few things that will require updating. A lot of time was spent testing the site and we ultimately needed to bring it live to finish the final polishing. Your feedback has been helpful in finding many of the minor nuances that needed to be adjusted and we're actively monitoring your comments to quickly fix these promptly.

Many of the items suggested are additional wish list items for the future and I wish to clarify that this update was designed to bring our site to be mobile-responsive and to update the architecture for future enhancements, such as search functionality. This update is the first step in a multi-layered approach to further enhance the site with more information and with an interest in being easier to navigate. Please remain patient with us as many of the suggestions you've shared are in the plan to add, however, it will launch in phases over the course of the next year or so.

I'll attempt to answer some of your specific questions in order to offer additional clarity on some of the things that are to come.

    Gird yourselves...rant coming!

OK, I've posted before with a variation on the theme regarding choosing excursions 240 days out. Here is my list of frustrations:

    • 240 days out - no excursions posted, no PDF
    • 238 days out - Australia posted, no ability to choose Indonesia
    • 235 days out - excursions listed except for two ports
    • Currently (2 weeks after the 240 day mark), no excursions posted for Jakarta - will this port be cancelled?
    • Once you choose excursions on the website, there is no ability to change your choices without calling Regent
    • Called Regent to flip flop the choices for Bali as we will be there for two days. The time and day listed on the PDF and the website, does not exist in Miami's computer.
    • Miami sent another PDF with the "revised" choices and times - except the PDF was the one I had with the original times
    • It's not like this is a new itinerary for Regent....even Komodo had nothing listed at the deadline that Regent set - and Komodo only has one choice of something to do anyway - hike to see the dragons!

    My suggestions:

    • I like the idea of solidifying the choices before publishing the PDF, but there should be something listed for each port by the publication date.
    • Give us a week to review before opening the selection window. I understand that things happen and some excursions will change or have to be cancelled as we get closer to sailing.
    • Notify us by email when there are cancellations or additions so we don't have to check the website daily.
    • Allow changes to be made through the "customize" tab so we don't have to make a phone call, go through the gauntlet of menu choices, and then have a real person make the changes (or not) which we can do ourselves.

I'm sure Regent has reasons for creating this convoluted process. I would feel better if I knew what those reasons were. OK, rant over! :D

  4. flossie009,

I've had the chance to see the crew area aboard all of our ships and have also stayed in a crew cabin a few times. The accommodations for the crew on Explorer are excellent IMO. Just like on naval ships, the types of crew cabins vary based on the crew members' position. Some share a cabin and others with a higher ranking have their own. The team has a separate common area for socializing, plus a crew bar, and a spacious crew mess for dining.

We also take great care when crew members may have a loved one that is also working on board and we do our best to match up schedules when feasible.

I can also share with you that there are several events and activities planned for crew engagement. The shipboard management team organizes theme events that typically include movie nights, wine & cheese parties, plus many various types of themed parties. They have quite the imagination coming from various nationalities! Plus, there are periodic opportunities for crew shore excursions.

  5. Since we rarely stay at the pre cruise hotels, I am wondering how the rooms are allocated. In general, what type of room does one receive? Does it depend on cabin or society level? Anyone stayed at the Grosvenor House in London, or the Sheraton Stockholm?

Sent from my iPad using Forums

    Grandmommy987,

Each hotel is unique in its offering and its difficult to give a general explanation on how we assign the hotel rooms. The suite category booked will factor into the room type selected.

Keep in mind, you may always request a higher room type and our team can provide your travel agent with the applicable pricing for you to consider should you be interested.

  6. It seems to be the "new normal". Apparently Regent is redoing their website once again and I wonder if this is causing the problem. The excursions for our November cruise opened at least a month ago and there are still two major ports (Puerto Rico and St. Barths) that still show no excursions at all. Very frustrating to say the least.

    Travelcat2,

The shore excursions for St. Bart's and San Juan are now available.

  7. Our cruise arrives in Lima Peru at 10:00am and we spend overnight in port. Does this mean we can get off the ship very early(7:00am) the next morning to start a week land tour or do we need to wait until (8:00am) which is the norm? Is this normally an issue or is this a simple request to Regent and/or my TA? Could I leave the night before?

    irishwitchy,

You may debark the day prior without issue or at any point throughout the night when we arrive the day prior to disembarkation. Simply advise the Destination Services of your interest in advance and they will communicate if any restrictions may exist.

Customs may be an issue in select ports, however, this requirement typically occurs upon arrival and some ports may require additional screening inside the terminal which may limit the times offered for open disembarkation. Therefore, we always suggest you speak to Destinations once on board or in advance via your travel agent & reservations to advise of this request.

  8. If I understand you correctly, that will be when the excursions are both published and open for selection? In the past I could get an emailed list before the booking date. We are now gold, so we also can book 240 days out. Thanks for your prompt reply!

Correct, both published and open for selection occur on the same day.

In the past, we used to have the PDF available earlier, but it was not technically finalized. These were the historical offering of tours, but never reflected the new additions that may have been added for the season until the official 240 day mark or by the time they technically opened up for booking selection. Now we've created consistency across all voyages and officially open up one final version at the 240 day threshold.

  9. Since you are reading this thread, I was hoping you could tell me when the excursions will be posted for the Singapore to Sydney cruise on 2/2/18. We are about 3 weeks out until we can book and, in the past, we have had ample time to peruse the choices. I called Regent and was told that usually they are posted 240 days out which is the day they open for booking for us. I'm not sure what the hold up is as this is an identical cruise to the one this year. Are you securing new vendors? The call center didn't seem to have a clue and punted to our TA. Thanks, Jason!

    Forgap,

For Voyager sailing Feb 2, 2018, the shore excursions will be available beginning June 7 for Concierge & higher guests.

  10. So OBC can be used for a cash reimbursement of any Regent Choice excursion? I did not know this. lol-Now I'm really upset that I booked directly through Regent!

    Missymssy,

You can use your shipboard credits towards the purchase of Regent Choice tours once on ship and any previously booked options may be adjusted as well with one important detail to keep in mind. The pre-booked options must be available once on board as it will require cancelling and rebooking the tour to adjust the charge against your shipboard credit.

  11. Just curious, does Regent send guests any type of "welcome kit" or something similar in the mail prior to their sailing? Like luggage tags, hardcopy travel docs, document holder, etc...?

And if so, how soon before sailing does it take to arrive?

towel-animal mentioned this some time ago, however, I wanted to update on the current document inclusions. Plus, offer additional information on the new tier-specific tags offered to Platinum and higher guests.

Regent sends out documents at 45 days prior to sailing. Normally, these are sent to your travel agent for review prior and then subsequently mailed or given to the guest.

The documents feature a wallet document holder that may be reused as a tablet/iPad holder after your subsequent travel. Inside the wallet holder, you'll find the paper cruise tickets, terms & conditions information, insurance information if you happened to purchase through Regent, plus 2 reusable luggage tags along with a set of peel & stick luggage labels that are used to detail your deck and suite location.

Recently, we also introduced luggage tags exclusively for Platinum & Titanium guests and these are included in the documents for the first voyage upon reaching either tier level. These were introduced in mid-2016.
