I  had both the sea bass and the lamb and enjoyed them  Had the risotto as an app but no shrimp.  It was good but a tad salty.  Julia

For my September 8 cruise Reykjavik to Dover we are no longer going to the Isle of Lewis but instead to Oban about which I know nothing.  Anyone been there?  There are no shore execs listed yet even though there are plenty for the next cruise, Dover to Dover.  Thanks, Julia

I went ashore,  Hot.   Very polite traffic. Went to pearl museum. Had to ask for help in finding it. Cathedral was closed. Homeless sitting on steps did not ask for money but did tell me it would be open tomorrow. Lots of street musicians. Clean streets.  Visible police presence. Julia

It's taken me forever to be able to reply to this thread since I forgot my password and had to reset and iPad and phone didn't want to cooperate so had to resort to desktop and gurus in computer center.  Third world problems.  So happy to be back on Crystal.  Lovely rough seas.  Grey Goose slept on sofa last night.  Since Tracie isn't on this cruise I haven't won at trivia but tomorrow is another day.  The passengers and crew keep telling one another how happy we all are to be back.  More later.  Must exercise so I can eat again.  Party for solos tonight.  Julia

With OC there was a place on the website where I could enter the credit card number I wanted to use on the cruise for any charges incurred on my cruise.  I can't find a place with NC.  Is this done at checkin when boarding now?  Thanks, Julia

I have received 5 credits on 5 cruises booked which total the amount owed me.  I have not received any payment from Moecker and don't expect to but will take it if I do.  Julia

I was thinking of the cruise which embarks in Jeddah and was going to ask how to fly there from BNA. However, if I need to change my travel uniform i will rethink. Julia

I have never bought clothes onboard but I have seen plenty of people who were.  I still have the tee shirt I won.  My friend bought perfume and I was told they have any "necessity" you might need.  Another friend bought makeup.  I have bought jewelry from Hubert and hope to again.  One can negotiate and he is honest.  Julia

Has anyone else received an email from them?  I did today, disputing my $2539.00 claim because they say I have been reimbursed by my travel insurance company and am owed only $2,185.42.  I was reimbursed by my insurance company  but that was for the 2021 cruise to Bermuda when I was kicked off the ship one night because I was exposed to a person who was exposed to a person who had covid and had to pay for a night's stay in a less than satisfactory hotel.  Many of you had to suffer through my complaints until I was let back on the ship.  Frankly, since Crystal has given me credits for 2 cruises I really was not expecting anything from Moeker and don't know what to do now.  Julia

Yes, to Observer's point. Over the years on a very rare occasion someone has either made a rude comment about Anne Marie walking in the wrong direction or a few people have almost purposely waked into her. If I was there. Well maybe better I was not.  However, there are rude people on land and on sea and the good news is with the ship carrying less people we didn't encounter this issue on the seven cruise on-board Serenity in 2020 nor these two. If we are both together and waling the wrong way and others are coming we walk single file until we all pass staying very close to the right hand side.

 

As to the promenade deck this is something very special for us as it is for most. Anne Marie and I walk it together, by ourselves, in the past with others and I run on it.  It is also a great place for arrivals, departures, viewing scenery and getting away from it all and it was one of the selling points when we booked our first Crystal Cruise.

 

Very few ships compare to this.  On most the shady area is near a pool and that had issues and was pretty boring.  I believe the QM2 came the closest to this but we prefer Serenity and Symphony and Serenity more given the placement of the lifeboats.

 

And the promenade deck is now completely non-smoking. We suggested signage for this and hopefully this will be up soon.
