  1. YIKES!! MY COMPUTER WENT CRAZY AND HAS POSTED THIS MESSAGE MULTIPLE TIMES. I DON'T KNOW HOW TO DELETE, BUT PERHAPS A MOD CAN FIX THIS?

I'm thinking about purchasing the Signature Drink package for my upcoming cruise. I understand that there is a 15 drink limit per day. Do soda purchases count as part of the 15 limit? Or, is it 15 alcoholic beverages per day? Also, I believe that the package includes drinks that cost up to $8.50. What happens if I buy a drink that cost more than that? Do I get charged for the entire drink, or just the difference in price?

    Thanks.

  2. Sorry about posting this twice. My computer was acting strange, and I didn't realize the first posting went through. Feel free to delete either one.

  3. I just booked our first-ever cruise on the Nieuw Amsterdam for 7-day Alaska roundtrip from Vancouver. Our departure date isn't until June 2, 2018, but we are excited to knock something off our "bucket list".

I've been watching/using this board for awhile now to learn things about the cruise, and I'll continue to do so. Just want to thank everyone for the info they supply for first-time cruisers like us.

Anyone else that joins this cruise, we'd like to hear from you.

  4. I'm nearly ready to book a cruise. I've been doing the research online, and feel like I could easily book that way. But I've also been in contact with a HAL "Cruise Consultant", who advised me to book through her rather than online. Is one way better than the other? A concern that I have is since my cruise isn't until 2018, I want to take advantage of any offers that may happen in the future. The consultant said she would be able to update my booking to include any future offers. Will I have the same opportunity if I book online, or will any future offers be lost?

  5. We are first-time cruisers and are ready to book a room on Nieuw Amsterdam cruise to Alaska. This is a big splurge for us, and may be our only cruise...so we don't want to screw it up by selecting a wrong room. We are planning to just have an ocean view cabin (no balcony). The registration process has us selecting a room/category on the main deck. Will this be good enough, or should I upgrade to another deck. And, should I choose front, center or rear part of the ship? We don't want to hear noise during our cabin time. I'd really appreciate any advice.
