  1. I was on the Oct 8 cruise and loved it. I have cruised with Disney, Princess, Celebrity and now MSC. Every cruise and and every cruise line has its issues. I was pleasantly surprised by how nice of an experience I had. People in my group of travelers booked Yacht CLub, suites, and balconies. I found that the expectations of the traveler in their specific room is what determined their satisfaction. The person that spent the $4500 for the suite, that didnt have a balcony and didnt have a pull out couch, had the worst experience. They were upset about something the whole cruise. The person that bought the $700 cabin and upgraded to Yacht Club for $400 had a great experience. This really upset my friend that paid for the suite and got far less value than the upgraded friend. My cabin was next to my mother's and the steward opened the divider on the balcony making one long convenient balcony.

We paid a total of $1700 for the cabin for my wife, two kids, and I. We wouldve paid over $4000 for that cabin on Disney. There was no Goofy, No Mickey, No Princess, but my 11 year old boys absolutely loved the kids club and playing soccer with kids from all over the world.

Yes the buffet is disorganized and it is sometimes hard to get a drink. but vacation is what you make it. If you let that ruin your trip that is your fault. We loved it so much we just booked MSC for spring break in Europe.

Food was average for a ship, buffet had variety and the pizza makes up for any short falls elsewhere. My only complaints are this. They need more staff. Staff was friendly but they definitely need more staff. The buffet is hard to move around. Just like at home though, if you want to avoid people dont go to the buffet during rush hour.

  2. Is the onboard app on the Divina actually useful? I hope it works better than their website does. Would we be able to use it to leave messages to each other or is it too complicated for the non techie to use?

I see where the best internet package you can get limits you to 340MB a day. Is this 340MB shared across all 4 users or 340 for each? Is this amount enough for my kids to watch a tv show or two to wind down for bed?

  3. I was going to wait and use my onboard credit to buy a drink package for the Divina. I know it is cheaper to do in advance, but I thought I would use my OBC. My question is this. If I wait to buy it onboard is there a line to do this? Is there some sort of card I will get or do they just load it onto your room card? If I have to wait in line to pick up some sort of card I will just wait and use my OBC. I was looking at one of the all inclusive packages.

  4. If I get $1000 in chips at the casino and charge that to my room will there be any type of fee? I understand that this will show as a purchase and not a cash advance. I have read where some cruise lines charge a 3% fee to do this to offset the credit card fees. Has anyone had any experience with this?

  5. We are traveling with people with several different drink packages and I was wondering if we can link any of our reservations together so we can dine together. Im confused. It doesnt look as if we can eat together. One cabin has booked Aurea cabin, the rest are Fantastica cabins. One cabin is the top drink package, one cabin is cheaper everything package, my cabin is the Cheers(free drinks at dinner time) package, and my mother has no package at all.

  6. I have searched this message board with little luck. I am looking at the Cheers Drink Package. This is the Beer, Wine, Soft Drinks at meal times. I am hoping someone has experience with this. I was wondering what the hours were. The wording leaves it a little unclear to me. If the buffet is open will you be allowed to get beverages? I have read that they post meal times in the daily. What times are you actually allowed to use this package? Which bars would you be able to use?

    Thank you in advance

    Terry
