I brought a large Yeti w/me. I would order a Bloody Mary at the WJ bar, pour it in, get my food, order a second, pour it in, and take the full Yeti and my food back to my balcony where I would enjoy the true breakfast of champions.

Hey Chris, I was wondering if you have worked any of the Bliss charters. I see they charter Indy and Navigator. Looks like an, um, interesting group . . .
-
After seeing the age of the performers, I would have thought they would be more comfortable on Holland America instead of RC! :D
Speaking of comfortable, here is one where everyone is definitely comfortable in their own skin . . .

We have some friends on this cruise so I will be following along. Enjoy your trip.

Here is another Indy charter. Rock Legends Cruise. Feb. 14-18, 2019. Still not sure about the 23rd.

I am looking at an RCL Adventure OTS itinerary with a stop in GC from 7-3:30. I assume CM will work around those times but if anyone has any experience w/it I’d appreciate hearing about it. Also, on they day I’m looking at, there are 2 other ships there, the MSC Seaside and the Pullmantur Monarch. Will that make tendering a longer process? TIA.

There are a number of products available specifically for this purpose. I did a quick search and found Wine Mummy and Wine Diaper. I have never used them so I cannot vouch for them but they are an option. I assume the methods described above (large Ziploc or other sealed plastic bag wrapped in a towel, sweater or other clothing) work just as effectively.
On my last cruise the 2 bottles we bought showed up at 6 p.m. the night before disembarkation so we could pack them if need be. Since we carried everything on and off it wasn’t necessary but as noted above you will be able to get them in your checked bags before you put them out for pickup. Enjoy your trip.

Yeah the car dealer....?!
Car dealer is Navigator in December. 70,000 Tons of Metal was on Indy this past February. That would be my semi-educated guess.

Hi. We are a family of 19 staying at hhe Riverside Hotel in August. Did you enjoy the hotel? I choose it and got a rate of $109 a night and hoping everyone likes it. Was there a casual restaurant in the hotel? Thinking if so, I will call and poasibly book us a table/room pre fix. Thanks.

I work in downtown Lauderdale and when I have people come here for business the Riverside is my first choice for them. I have not eaten at the restaurants but I know others have and they usually get good reviews. There are plenty of restaurants along Las Olas to choose from if you want to try something different.

Do you plan on doing serious shopping or is it just a “go check it out” trip? If you are shopping I’d consider renting a car. Much easier if you buy anything substantial. Also, if you are shopping, are you prepared (as in is there room in your luggage) to take whatever you buy on the ship, and then back home? Sawgrass is a mall shopper’s paradise. I was just there Saturday for an early St. Patty’s Day drink/meal and it seems to keep growing . . .

Many years ago I spent a semester of college in Spain. My bank at the time only charged me the standard out-of-network fee for using an ATM, I think it was $2 per withdrawal regardless of amount. There was no conversion fee, no out of country fee, nothing else. So if I took out $20 or $200 the fee was the same and I got extremely favorable exchange rates. I know things have changed but you might check and see what your current bank charges for similar transactions. Enjoy your trip.

Bob has not chimed in on this thread for a couple of days. Did he make it back to the ship for part two of his B2B?
-
And yes, there is no flow rider on this ship. I repeat, there is no flow rider.
You already seemed stressed that there is no Flowrider. I think you need to take Lucy as your emotional support animal. I’m sure the other cruisers won’t mind.
Either that or find a peacock.

Be careful with this route, I-696 has 2 lanes closed just before it connects to I-94. I'm not sure that would be much better than the posted detour of going north on I-75 and using 8 Mile road to I-94 or just getting out of Michigan as soon as possible through Windsor.
Ahh yes, Michigan, where the state flower is the pothole and the state animal is the road construction horse. I don’t miss that part of living there at all.
Save travels home. Thanks again for taking us along no with the review.

It’s a Zumba charter.
Cheers!
Joan
I saw someone else post about going on this Zumba charter as well.

If your heart was set on crossing at the Blue Water you could go west from DTW for 3-4 miles, go north on 275 and then cross over on 696 which gets you back to 94 well north of downtown. Safe travels back.

I know you have another day but I wanted to thank you in advance for taking the time to share your travels. I also wanted to thank you for introducing me to the forecast app. My wife has been giving me puzzled looks every morning when my response to her question of why are you laughing was I’m checking the weather. (Apologies in advance for those very easily offended.)

Anyone know what type of towel animal this is?
I am the walrus. Goo goo goo joob. (Beatles reference for those wondering).

They add 18% to the price of the drink package, so tips are included already. However, if you find a favorite bartender, slipping a couple extra to him/her might speed up your future drink orders. I’d suggest taking $40 or $50 in ones and fives to grease some squeaky wheels.

Is the BOGO dining offer put on the cruise planner on an individual cruise basis? I don’t see it on my Ovation Cruise.
What Bob said. I only add that if you are on a holiday cruise they might not offer the BOGO. The disclaimers say it’s not available on holiday cruises and it was not offered on my NYE cruise.

Rick the pics have been fantastic.
Bob, do you have favorite excursions/things to do at all of these stops?

It's the term folks in New England and Canada use to refer to Coke, Sprite and other soft drinks -- think about the old term soda pop.
Also Midwest. I grew up in Michigan and we said pop. Now I just go with Coke and accept that some places serve Pepsi and will correct me.

I live vicariously through the people who are cruising now and take the time to live review/blog/whatever. It both reminds me of my own trips and gives me ideas for future ones.
Minor kids staying home, what do we need to do
in Family Cruises
Posted
Leaving health insurance card, name/contact info for pediatrician’s ofc., making sure the caregiver knows where the closest hospital/urgent care center is, where band aids and medicines are in your house if they are staying there, things like that. Health care letter should definitely be notarized. Any allergies? I might make a list if there are serious issues w/either of them. Also make sure the caregiver has authority to sign the kids out of school/child care if need be.
Those are some thoughts I had but as noted above your individual situation may differ. Enjoy your trip.
