  1. Only time TBA should show up is if you have a guarantee room. Unless you was giving a room number when you booked and look at your booking details and see if the room # shows up there. But I wouldn't worry about printing out any info till a month or two before you leave.

  2. If you go to the red box with book now then you will see less options you have to find where it says more options. I used the laptop and figured it out. And then used my phone and kept messing with it till I found a way to make it work. Click on more dates and then find the date you want then click on the room and the price. DO NOT CLICK ON BOOK NOW. One you click on the blue box that has the price it will work the same as the old site from there

  3. I just got back Monday unless ships have different rules which I kinda don't see but they might work with you. But I seen a couple try to get cheers the second day and it was after lunch they ask if the drinks they already got would count toward the 15 they told them no the 15 would start then. And it's 6am-6pm

  4. We took the time on the last night and got a print out of our bill. On the bill print out it shows $0.00 for anything used with cheers. So we used the carnival hub app and seen the prices on it and wrote them down on the sheet so we could see if it was worth it. I figured them up when we got home and was relaxing.

    Day 1= 142.7

    Day 2= 146.3

    Day 3= 141.4

    Day 4= 154.4

    Total= $584.80 for 2 people

That is what it would have cost us for every drink we got. So we saved money and we didn't drink 15 alcoholic drinks a day.

This does not include the auto gratuities that's added or we tipped.

  5. Something to look at, you dont have to buy CHEERS the first day. Assuming you are not sailing from NY or Texas, you can get it the second day.

So, you can drink like you want on the first day... look back on it the morning of the second day ( get a print out of your bill from guest services or the kiosk that are on the ship) and decide if it would have been worth it. Then decide if you think you will continue to drink that much or not...

If you buy it the second day, all the drinks up to 15 from day one will be changed to CHEERS drinks. and you wont be charged for them.

Based on your suggested drinking pattern at home, I would guess CHEERS will either not be worth it, or it will be really close.

They do not do it that way. Seen somebody try that on the cruise I was just on. And they told them they cheers starts when you get it and previous drinks do not count

  6. We just got back from a 4 day on the Triumph and had cheers. Keep in mind to think about the coffee energy drinks milkshakes bottled water and sodas are all included with cheers. And you have to pay taxes on the drinks the first day till you get to international water and same for the return trip. And can not use cheers on the first day if you sail from Texas or New York.

    Sodas are $2.25

These prices are from our trip. Beers are about $6 16 oz cans. Mixed drinks are $8-$11 based on the drink you get. You can order any drink from any bar or at least we could.

Now if you prefer bottled water cause we didn't like the water on tap they are $1.25 each which is included tap water was nasty.

If you drink coffee, cappuccino, ice coffee, or milkshakes their normal coffee was not something we liked I tried it the first morning at breakfast good think I had gotta a cup from the "Vienna Cafe" on our way. coffee drinks are $4-$6 rockstar drinks are are $4.95

can't remember the price on the shakes.

So that will help give you an idea to see if it's worth it for your trip. Keep in mind they could be more of less based on the ship and the bar you get them from. And you can get a bottle of water every time you order a drink and stock up on them for in your room and to take with you to ports. For us we didn't get to 15 but when you factor in all of it we still think it was worth getting cheers and will get it on the next cruise.

Also all the drink are unlimited and have to wait 5 mins to order another drink no matter the kinda drink you get. Alcoholic drinks are the only drinks that count toward the 15.

I'm including all the other drinks and info to help out because on the second and third day people thought they could only get alcoholic drink and didn't even realized the other drinks was included.

  7. Nice spreedsheet. Maybe should have added the specialty coffees and milkshakes and other drinks since they are included with the package. It's not hard to break even with cheers specially with all the other drinks included. I have noticed most only look at the alcoholic drinks. But if you factor in all the other drinks then most would see it's a good deal. Just the soda package is $6.50 and only includes Soda. Then factor in the other drinks you are able to get. Some only care about the alcoholic drinks. We looked at the whole package and it makes it worth it looking at it that way.

  8. If you are talking about their vacation coverage that has nothing to do with whether or not you have a passport. Nothing necessarily wrong with your approach but it sounds like your future travel plans are up in the air. If you decided later to take another cruise you could obtain the passports at that point (or not, if it's another closed loop cruise:)) and the same goes with getting it before taking a cruise that needs a passport. On the other hand if you never take another cruise or fly internationally you have an expensive form of ID gathering dust in a drawer.

But everybody has their own way of doing things as I've done a lot of reading on here. Some say it not worth getting a passport some say it is. Just like anything else. It's best to weigh your options and decide from there what's best for you for the trip you plan now or the future.

  9. Yea true but I'll have it if I ever need it. I had to chance to go out of the country for work and didn't have a passport and could not get it fast enough and missed the chance. So I feel that I'll be covered if I ever need it again. I don't like carring around my birth certificate. And it's also another proof of ID if needed. So from my point that I see I got it if it's ever needed or if we decided to take vacation and fly to Mexico. We plan on getting our kids theirs also so if we plan a last minute vacation it's covered.

  10. Ships do have issues and if you are referring to the CCL ship that disembarked passengers in St Martin those without passports were given a letter by CBP allowing them to fly without a passport and they boarded the same planes as those passengers that did have a passport. Yes, something else could happen that would cause you to have to fly back from the cruise, but the risk for most people is very low. Each traveler has different travel documentation needs and should use the documentation that works best for them.

I'm one of those that hates having issues when I knew I could have done something to avoid it. After carnival told me I could spend $65 and not need a passport for it but like we discussed if we decide to cruise again or take a cruise where we have to have it then might as well spend the money once and be covered for 10 yrs.

  11. Going on first cruise next month with carnival. My wife and I debated on getting our passports and said we don't need one we will just use our birth certificate. I spoke with them and they said they have a package for $65 each we could get that would cover us in the event of an emergency. Few days later we talked about it and for the price you pay for a passport that last 10 yrs for adults and 5 yrs for kids. we went ahead and spent the money got it so we had it for future trips.

On a side note I had read on here in a thread about a ship having issues and had to fly everybody back. And after reading that. I'm glad we did get ours. I know the chances can be slim to none of that happening. Or how it all really worked out for them. But if anything was to happen and had fly back home it would be hard to do not having a passport.
