  1. Very true, but the photos and renderings for the Bliss look like a single bed. Fingers crossed :D

I just looked at the Bliss studio rendering online and it looks the same as Escape did. It will be a full size bed.

Look at pictures of interior room when beds are separate- only 1 pillow- single bed. Pictures of studio in all breakaway and b+ classes have 2 pillows- full size bed.

  2. I noticed in the video the narrator said “if there is someone who doesn’t know how to drive” which seems crazy to most Americans because even children know how to drive a go cart...

But does anyone think that could have been literal? In h vault populated Chinese cities how many have never driven and would be extra cautious in a go cart?

I agree they look horribly slow, but there was also a clip where the person truly looked like they didn’t know how to steer around a tight corner and everyone else was stuck behind them.

Maybe it won’t be so bad??? 🤷🏼*♀️

  3. I’m pretty sure cruisenext doesn’t have any restrictions for use. The OP has already mentioned the only qualification that I was told about when booking my cruisenext with an agent on the Escape this year. You can use your cruisenext certificates anytime in the redemption period, and you may use two if booking booking a balcony or high on a reservation at least 6 months out.

  4. I know Bob! Tax Reform has ruined my life! Someone tell my clients to stop calling me!

I will try to finish up with Labadee tonight. I also need to go Christmas shopping. Ugh. If there was a way to get to the mall without driving I would have started drinking already.

I had a client tell me yesterday and that e and his buddies always get together on December 23rd, drink all morning and uber to the mall and whatever they buy that’s Christmas for everyone.

Sounded like a good plan to me! [emoji482]

  5. Ahhhh....cough, cough.....should I mention this?.....

I was born and bred in Ohio. That’s right, I’m proud of my Buckeyes. I’d like to apologize to a Michigan State alum after the whooping Saturday by OSU. As long as you bleed GREEN and not BLUE, we can be good friends. My Buckeyes will no doubt get whooped by UofM Thanksgiving weekend. Sigh.

Back to your outstanding review! I’m the queen of sarcasm in my family, so I love it!

I am also Ohio born and bred but a rebel with a younger sibling smart enough to play for the Spartans when they were whoopin Ohio State going for big ten championships and at Home ruining championship dreams [emoji39]

I live in Columbus about a mile from “the shoe” so I don’t get to flaunt my Sparty-pride very often! Especially this year in Columbus...

  6. Ichigan as in "itch" or "ick"?

Okay, let's make this clear: I went to State, so I would NEVER wear a UofM shirt. I bleed green, not blue.

Second, I know you haven't read the second installment of day 1, as I haven't posted it yet, but as a social reject you will find that people do not want to sit with me. Ever.

And since I don't know what you look like, I can only make the assumption that your eagerness to invite people to your table seems a little too enthusiastic for this demographic.

I am not worthy of a comparison of that nature...but I'll take it! Glad you are enjoying it.

  7. St. thomas used to take 6 sometimes 7 ships a day regularly. As others have stated, the port is open, but it sounds like probably only one of the docks. And if ships were to flood the island with so many passengers in a single day, I can only assume everyone would begin to complain that the cruise line ruined the vacation by going into a disaster area too soon and there was nothing available for them to do in an island that does not even have a full power grid yet.

OP trust the cruise lines are not trying to ruin your holiday. They are very well aware that repeat customers are where they make their money. Cut them some slack, they are trying to the best they can with far less options than they previously had.

  8. trying to pick a cabin and I cannot tell from the photos or the plans what the white space means on the outside of a cabin. sometimes the cabin seems to go to the edge of a deck and sometimes there is white space beyond the deck, but when I look at the photos, railings go to the edge every time?

I have interpreted this to be lower decks that stick out farther than the deck you are viewing at the time. The deck plans are a top-down look at the ship.

(I have no confirmation of this, just how I have always viewed it)

  9. But a lot of the posts in this thread points to why the added the nominal charge.

People were ordering room service for some cookies. With the charge, people will not use room service for small snack orders.

And also, virtually every hotel I have stayed in had room service charges. Many times much higher than RCIs, and often a fixed fee PLUS a percentage of the bill PLUS mandatory gratuity.

    Thank you!! [emoji1373]

  10. That makes me feel bad for the staff. I'm sure most people would tip a decent amount in cash to the person delivering their order, but now with the fee, no doubt those tips have decreased.

You really think that "most people" would tip a fair amount???? I disagree, I believe our culture has turned into a society where people feel they are owed, and that food on cruises should be free so it isn't necessary to tip.

Hence the mandatory daily service charge that has become the norm, because people don't tip for good service anymore, they feel it's the job the person has signed up for. Just like when I'm at work (as a store manager) and a grown woman in a fitting room throws her left behind clothes in a ball on the floor and claims, "you get paid to pick those up". The vast majority of society is so self absorbed they are clueless to what it takes to be in a service driven job.

    IMO.

Wow! What time were you off the ship?? I thought I was off early but you're pictures look deserted!! I really enjoyed the pool at harvest caye, the beach area I tried was rocky. The "feels like" temp was 102 so I chose not to walk the rest of the beach area looking for any better sand (lazy) and 2 days of UBP had me ready to either just float or lay in a chair [emoji17]
