So I have a question about these $10 tests. We cruise on Radiance next week, and I already have the Binax Now home tests ready to go. If for some reason we have a problem with these home tests (i.e. the empty fluid bottles that I've been reading about, etc), would it be possible to register for the "at the port" tests as a backup plan, and not get charged if we don't need them? This whole testing business really stresses me out. We will be in a hotel room relying on their wifi to do the proctored tests, I just don't want something stupid to affect any of this.

Pretty much all of the MDR dress codes are out the window, no matter what day it is.
That settles it. I'm packing my leather chaps and codpiece. Bon appetite! 😄

For our upcoming cruise (3/21, it's Spring break for us), Radiance suite is already sold out so I am assuming it's close to capacity.
I'm on this same cruise (in a suite), and while looking at a mock booking, I see what you mean about the suites being N/A. But holy cow, the rates for the other categories are extremely cheap! I actually took an upsell offer from a balcony to a suite, and in hindsight I probably should've just kept the balcony & did a price adjustment. But these prices make me wonder about the capacity right now. It's spring break week for us, too, and I'm anticipating a full ship, but could be wrong! We'll see...

The TSS Carnivale was my first cruise as a teenager in the 80's. I wish I could find some documentation for that cruise, so I could submit it & get 3 more days added to my VIFP status!

Looks like you are good to go, according to the FAQ page.

In case wondering- Feast or first elegant night was Tues and mostly black dress slacks, polos, even a few with dark jeans and a shirt. Only saw a few that were families with kids that were really dressed up and we’re taking g photos. Then a few um…um… very dressed but more appropriate for a nightclub with spandex and midriffs. So go with what one likes and ignore others if you fit within tiles of no hat, cut offs, shorts, flip flops.
I was going to take my codpiece along, but maybe that's too formal...

Thanks for the thorough review! We sail the 4 night on March 21, and our previous cruise was on Victory a few months before she went to Spain for the refurb. I'm excited to see the changes. As this is the spring break week for a lot of people, I'm anticipating a full house. Hope not, though!

Has anyone done this - and did you loose your OBC?
My OBC gets pretty loose when I start buying drinks...

When I got my booster, I had my card ready & the pharmacist said that they don't write the booster info on people's cards (this was at a Walgreens). So my card has no booster record written on it, but the booster is recorded in my records at my health department. I'm taking a print-out of that along when I cruise in a couple of weeks, along with my Covid vaccination card. I also have a QR code that they could scan with all my info, too. So I hope I'm covered!

My guess is it is because they don't have to, enough people are buying the drink package anyway.
I agree. They give free drinks in the casino to keep people in there & feed the machines, which is a winning strategy for Carnival.

Yeah, I'll bet they axed that perk. I'd rather be able to wash my "flying home" outfit for free than to have a free bottle of water (I get that anyways..lol). Oh well. Maybe I'll pack a Tide Pod & do a load in the launderette.

It was mentioned as a perk in the upsell call, we'll see if we get it onboard.
Here's a direct quote from the upsell email that I received:
"Enjoy all the comforts of home: a walk-in closet, premium balcony views... not to mention VIP status, and other exclusive amenities."
I'm just wondering what the "other exclusive amenities" are these days. Hoping one of them is still the free bag of laundry..that was nice to have while in our last suite. Maybe I'll hit up Mr Heald on his FB page & see if he can give any clarification.

Is this still a thing? I had a suite 2 years ago on Victory, and was able to fill a laundry bag for complimentary wash & fold. Looking on the Carnival
website, I'm not finding that perk anywhere. Has it been discontinued? Thanks for any insight!

I remember cruising back in the 90's, I would bring a garment bag with TWO suits for a 7 night cruise. Now, in the days of "no free checked bags" when flying economy (I don't fly on Southwest), I just pack a carry-on bag, so it's a dress shirt & tie for me. I think anymore, a tux would look out of place on Carnival.

This is so unrelated to the discussion here, you can't even call it a tangent! Wow. SMH.
Agreed. I don't think I'll catch a Fentanyl overdose on a cruise ship!

Is the square footage the same? or smaller, to make up space for the larger balcony? Thanks.
Looking at the deck plan, they appear to be the same size, just turned 90 degrees.

If you booked an early saver rate and the price drops, they will knock the difference off of the balance that you owe. If it's paid in full, they will give you on board credit instead. At least that's been my experience. (I might add, you need to fill out the price protection form online to take advantage of what I just said..lol)

I had cove balcony room 2306 on Vista, and it was wonderful. No complaints about that location at all (mid-ship).

Pretty sure they sell Heineken 0.0, and maybe O'Douls on board. If you bring your own, they will confiscate it.

Ocean View to Balcony. $190. Horizon 8 day itinerary.
Absolutely worth it, in my opinion!

When do they put these upsells on your planner? Do you get some kind of message from Carnival?
They emailed me about upsell offers.

Sounds wonderful! We cruise on Radiance on March 21..can't wait!

I had a balcony booked on Radiance over spring break. They offered me an Ocean Suite for $304, or a Grand Suite for $480. I took the OS offer. We took the same offer on our last cruise, and the extra room with the Ocean Suite was pretty nice.

I'd even choose SNA over LAX.
As an aviation geek, I'd choose SNA just to experience the noise abatement climbout that the planes do there. Wheeeeee!!!!

Looks like the water bottles available for purchase is spring water. Not sure if that's an issue for most people, but I'm a water snob & spring water tastes like it has dirt in it to me..lol
