I’ve never heard of them overbooking, however, my dad just went on a cruise (I think it was RC) and Expedia cancelled his booking last minute. They almost didn’t get on.

George at the Jungle Pool was good along with the bartenders up at the Wine & Cocktails bar between the specialty restaurants. It was nice and quite in the evenings up there, nice to get away from the crowds.
Is that the same George that used to be on the Divina?

[emoji23][emoji23][emoji23] This is great. I’m 25 and my husband and I (going on 4 years) manage to easily budget a nice vacation every year without removing tips or being cheap. Have the Seaside booked for next April. Can’t wait!

The minimum age is a year correct? Our daughter will be 10 months old for our cruise and we go back and forth between taking her and letting her stay with Grandma. I have a feeling she’d be happier with Grandma. [emoji23]

Presumably, if there is a cabin which costs more than you booked then the difference can be paid? e.g. to upgrade from fantastica experience to aurea for a specified amount?
Yes, cause last time I got emails and inquired about upgrading to YC after final payment for a really good price. Didn’t do it, but should have. I guess that’s one way to get a better deal if the price drops after final payment.

Switch to the drinks on us promotion then you can upgrade to the deluxe drink package at $26 pp/pd. It’ll save a ton.

You have to switch your booking to the drinks on us promotion then upgrade.
-
They won’t change it after final payment.

We did a little bit of both. Some of their prices for excursions were really competitive so the things we wanted to do that would’ve taken more effort to plan we booked through them. (We also had 8 ports to plan for so it would’ve been crazy to do it all ourselves).

It’s $3.50 for Bella room service. But if you get the premium drink package, doesn’t that go away?
-
The convenience of just walking off the boat and into your car is worth the extra $. Plus you know your car is safe. But we also had a 16 hour drive and being on the road by 7:30 was wonderful.
-
They change it no issue if it’s before the 90 day mark. Since drinks on us is brand new, no one on your cruise will have it cause it’s so close.
-
I think they try to seat you with people that speak your language. Both MSC cruises I’ve been on we were seated with people who spoke English as a first language. And the one there was only a handful of us.
-
The FAQs page for the drinks on us says it replaces the vouchers.
-
It’ll be after the cruise. My last one bumped me from silver to gold, but I had silver while I was on the boat.

I’ve done Bella once and fantastica once and you can’t tell much of a difference. Fantastica we got drink vouchers and free delivery on room service ($3 with Bella). When it was only a $50 difference between the 2 it was worth it, but the last cruise we were on and the one we have booked it was $150 difference a person which isn’t worth it at all.

If you figure you are going to pay about $1 per drink in tips for the Drinks on Us. I️t seems like a pretty good upgrade for the classic package for only $18 without tips. Plus gelato and coffee.

I agree. I upgraded to classic and am debating doing the deluxe for the mini bar and Venchi chocolate martinis. Plus my husband is a Scotch fan so he’d appreciate the variety.
The drinks on us really doesn’t have much to choose from. I like my cocktails and frozen drinks.

So how do you upgrade? Call msc and ask? I don't have a travel agent.

Yep. You can upgrade to the classic ($18 pp/pd) or deluxe ($26 pp/pd)

The one time I booked Bella guarantee we were assigned a fantastica balcony so we were pretty happy. We were assigned within a month of booking it. Also, if you aren’t happy with it you can call in and move if there’s any available (and keep calling till there is).

The vouchers can be used for non-alcoholic drinks too if he’s wanting a milkshake or gelato, smoothie etc.

How much are the water slides?

Sorry don’t mean to hijack your response. When I called in, the MSC rep told me that the cost of the package was due now. I’m not sure if it’s because the package is none refundable or what not (doesn’t matter, because I won’t hanged my mind anyways) but the final payment date was still the same. I don’t know if they is what other people had to do as well but I hope this helps.

I wish they would be consistent. I just did the $18 pp/pd upgrade through MSC (I booked through them too) and it’s not due till the final payment.

New to MSC.... had the drink package added to my cruise NO PROBLEM.. Want to upgrade the package for $18 per day per person. Not cruising until 10/27/2018 - final payment not due until 7/30/2018. Would rather upgrade directly with MSC & not my TA - should I wait until after final payment? Is there a way to do this on line or better to call?
Thanks for any advise.
I would do it now incase they discontinue the promotion. You have to call in but you don’t have to pay for it till final payment.

When going through the options select that you are wanting to book a new reservation. Wait time is 5-10 minutes. It was over an hour when I selected that I had an existing one. [emoji52]
