Teddy Roosevelt declared el Yunque a state park and they built the tower for observation.

For it to be a “rainforest” it has to rain 120 inches a year. El Yunque averages 250 inches a year.

Highest peak in the rainforest is El toro 3500 feet above sea level but not the highest point of the island.

Tour guide is telling us all about island life. What I got out of it. -If you see a mongoose “kick it”. Spaniards brought rats to the island and their solution to that was mongeese… and they hate both.
