I'll be doing PT daily on my shoulder and need to have a plan for icing down afterwards.  Are there ice packs available, or a freezer, in the gym? We'll be on Serenade.  I'm sure I can get ice at any bar --- should I plan to take baggies?  Anyone with such experience?

If you ask your cabin attendant to have a bucket of ice in your cabin every day, they will. I always ask the first day and we always have ice.

If view and location are at all important, a guarantee cabin is not a good choice. You might reconsider that $300 pp to pick a cabin.

    Good luck

Based on the price we paid when we booked it would cost us $1,400 total additional to purchase cost so we will stick with guarantee

Note that not all the balcony cabins on Odyssey are equal in size.  We had 6256 and a friend 6258 and they are significantly smaller than the 198 sq ft quoted in the deck plans.  I measured and it was 150 square feet including the bathroom.

Thanks, just my wife and I so size of cabin is not as important as view and location

  4. I booked a balcony guarantee on Odyssey’s November 25th sailing because guarantee was $700 pp ( $1,400 total) less expensive than picking cabin. I have never seen pricing that far apart and usually pay a little extra to pick room but just didn’t make sense this time.

I did a mock booking and no Obstructed View Balconies are offered even though all deck 6 balconies are OV. Leads me to think odds are all guaranteed will be deck 6. No problem, I’ll get what I paid for but have any of you booked a balcony guarantee on Odyssey and not received OV?

my current plan is to bid on Royal Up for large balconies and suites and hope to get one. However, no problem if not. We are Diamond status but this will be our first time to Curracao and Aruba and also first on this class of ship.

Thanks.  So...similar to what we had on Symphony? Just one side only?

Still not ideal with the outlet on one side...BOTH my wife and I use CPAPS...and since the cords aren't quite long enough, we still needed to ask for an expension cord (and had to use a multi-outet adapter) to plug both units into the one outlet.

My wife and I also both use CPap and will be on Odyssey in November. The good thing about at least 1 outlet at the bed is you can just run the extension cord under the bed and not have it on the floor across the room.

In Malaga, did the tour to El Alhambra Granada tour and it was fantastic. Beautiful drive to Granada and outstanding tour through El Alhambra which is part Islamic design with Catholic redesign. One of our better ship tours. Not crowded bus and tours were broken into smallish groups.

2nd on the Al Hambra tour. We did the same in May and it was incredible.

Would that be April 30th?  We have a good roll call going on!

The EB this year was in April and also had a large roll call and FB page but we will be trying our 1st WB in Fall 2023. Our upcoming cruise on Granduer in a couple of weeks will move us up to Diamond and we plan to book next cruise while on board.

Just look outside Royal Up before you do it. Fall sailing prices seem to be dropping quickly after final payment. Royal Up minimum bids are stuck at high levels. Can go from balcony to jr suite right now for under $300 total on our Grandeur sailing next month direct with Royal. Royal Up wants a minimum bid of $500. Plus you get to pick your cabin outside of Royal Up.

Just be smart and don't always default to Royal Up to upgrade. I think it is because Royal Up is a third party vendor and just can't adjust their prices lower as rates drop. A disconnect between current Royal pricing and Royal Up's rates that do not reflect price drops on Royal's side.

This is excellent advice. I had a $75pp upgrade bid from OV Guarantee to Spacious OV but was tracking pricing for Grandeur 11/13 cruise and called my TA today and was able to upgrade for no additional cost. I cancelled my Royal Up bid.

I bought 5 and was going to wait till I got on the ship to load to my account because of the trouble people are having with them do you think I should load them to cruise cash now to see if mine is going to have a problem ???

I suggest you download them before you leave and , if you have an Apple phone, save them to your Wallet app. If not Apple phone, take a screenshot and save it in your photo album.

    Hi:

I am needing clarification about the boarding process. I haven’t sailed for many years and it use to be that there was a separate lineup depending on crown and anchor status (Like Emerald, Plantinum), but I think that’s all changed now? I prefer to arrive at the terminal early and use to be onboard by 11.30am.
also, the muster drill process has changed and I believe you complete it in the App? But don’t you still have to go physically to the muster drill location? I see E4 on App - where is that?

sorry for asking questions that may seem silly!
I want to make vacation as stress free as I can and as my daughter reminds me- I am not tech savvy!
    Thanks.

I was able to fill out documents and select my boarding time 45 days before the cruise. Tip- the window opens at midnight so I stay up so I can get the earliest time possible. I’m in 10:30-11:00 group. As for safety drill, you will watch a video on the Royal App and then go to your muster station anytime prior to their deadline at your convenience. I find it on a better to go as soon as you board.

As we continue to navigate through this very fluid time together, it’s important that we connect on the latest news and updates. That’s why you’re among the first to learn that, sadly, Empress of the Seas® and Majesty of the Seas® will soon be leaving the Royal Caribbean fleet.

Fan favorites for 30 years, Empress and Majesty of the Seas certainly made their mark on the cruise industry. Empress, launched in 1990, was the first ship specifically designed for short 3- and 4-night itineraries, with her first cruises visiting The Bahamas from Miami. And years later, she wasn’t finished making history. In 2004, Empress became the first cruise ship to sail from Cape Liberty in Bayonne, New Jersey, when we opened our terminal. And in 2017, Empress took the limelight once again as she embarked on Royal Caribbean’s inaugural cruise to Cuba.

Likewise, Majesty captured the hearts of many during her time in our service. She was the third ship to round out the impressive Sovereign Class. More than twice the size of the average cruise ship, Majesty was the largest ship in our fleet when she debuted in 1992. Her adventures began with 7-night Western Caribbean cruises departing Miami.

Through the years, Empress and Majesty have created incredible memories for so many of our guests and crew members. Many of your clients think fondly of these ships, and we know this will be a bittersweet goodbye. Their departure from the Royal Caribbean fleet is a major moment in our brand’s history and was a decision that was not made lightly. However, as our fleet evolves, decisions like these pave the way for the introduction of new and reimagined innovative ships. And if you’re wondering about crew members being impacted by this, rest assured they’ll be transferred to other ships in our fleet where unforgettable vacations will soon continue. As we bid our farewells, we greatly encourage you to share your favorite memories onboard Empress and Majesty on Vicki’s Facebook page!

Should you have clients confirmed on future Empress or Majesty of the Seas sailings, please know that you will be contacted shortly regarding their options.

As always, we thank you for your continued loyalty and support. Your partnership means the world to us!

    Stay Safe!

My wife and I were on Majesty on our Honeymoon inn1999. It was our first cruise ever and we loved it so much we have not stopped cruising since. We will be celebrating our retirement on the Wonder TA on the 20th. Bon voyage to the Majesty, she served well.

Hi my app says that online check in starts on March 30. What time is the earliest I should jump online to get early boarding? We are going with another couple and need the same boarding time since we are traveling in one car. Is Port Everglades strict with arrival times?

It opens shortly after midnight Miami time. I did it at 12:05 AM and got the 11AM boarding time.
