Thanks all. I was spoiled by Disney ships which have freshwater pools. Salt water is fine though.

Starting to do research on this ship to try out NCL for the first time.  One question I haven't been able to find the answer to anywhere online so far is if the pools on the Sun are saltwater or freshwater.  Anyone know?

We were on the June 3 for the 4 night Victory. Had a balcony cabin mid-ship (9-263) on the Lido deck. Location was great, but the room has not been updated yet and it sorely needs it. On the last day I was getting out of the shower and a couple of floor tiles stuck to my foot. TV was not a flat screen and the picture was horrible. Door to the balcony didn't shut all the way even when locked so there was a whistling noise coming through.

On the bright side, our room steward Arvin was awesome.

Overall wasn't very impressed with the Carnival product (this was our first, and likely our last Carnival). Food, entertainment and service were not very good, staff didn't seem to be enjoying themselves all that much. The only time I saw the cruise director interact with the passengers was on the last night when he came into the Adriatic Lounge to see the comedy show. At first he went straight to the back with the rest of the staff but a passenger saw him and waved him over.

One of the most ridiculous things we encountered was the mandatory clearing of the Adriatic Lounge after each event. It's not like the room was filled to capacity at any of the shows, why can't we stay there, have a drink and keep talking to people? Made no sense.

Another thing that didn't make much sense was having all the photographers lined up in the hallway between the casino and the Adriatic Lounge area. It was impossible to get by and cause huge backups when they were trying to get the perfect shot.

Maybe it was an unusual experience we had, but it seemed like that was just the way it is on Carnival. It's a shame.

We're sailing on the Victory on June 5th, haven't received a beautification email yet saying boarding is delayed. Is it possible the project will be done by then? How close to the cruise departure date did others receive the notice?
