I knew it was going to happen... Thirty seconds after I uploaded those last pictures three customers walked in and stayed for a good bit. We finally got to go the back to quickly scarf down our lunch when the big boss called from out of town with another big project that needs to be done immediately... It NEVER fails that this happens whenever I think that I'm on the downhill slope towards vacation...

Damn.  Now how am I going to get through my Friday work afternoon?!

Have a wonderful trip, I'll be enjoying from afar.

PS. with my Rock Star name, None Nuts, I think I'd make a better roadie.

  2. You ever wonder what it feels like to be a luggage? I mean, if toys can have feelings and emotions in the Toy Story series, then luggage can have feelings also.

I literally thought precisely this as I put away my luggage from a trip last week. 😄  You're hilarious!   Though, I was also thinking that now that luggage has some great stories to tell to the other luggage when you put it back away for storage!  🤣

  3. I did the same thing two weeks ago and got a little pushback.  I think I had to mention twice that my boyfriend could not drink due to medical restrictions and they did allow me to purchase the refreshment package for him.   Soda only was not allowed.

I have read some reviews saying that Grandeur basically "closes down" at 10pm.  Are there any late evening (before midnight) activities, areas with music, etc?  We are not big partiers, but do enjoy a nice glass of wine with some music.  Thanks!

I was on the GOS two years ago in Sept and it was pretty dead after 9pm, but everything wasn't closed. Just not a lot of people around (at least on my New England/Canada cruise). We would go to the Viking Lounge for late night drinks.   It wasn't very busy but it was open and a good place to sit and sip cocktails.  I'm thinking we were there until about midnight or so.   We'd also go to schooner bar were there was piano music until maybe 10 or 11 and more of a crowd.

I did a live review if you'd like to check it out.

Enjoy the Grandeur!  It is a lovely ship and the crew is awesome 😄

  5. Hello all you knowledgeable folks!  Looking for a little experienced info here as I don't personally sail often.

In your experiences, are you able to get milkshakes from Johnny Rockets for free with the Deluxe Beverage Package?  What about the refreshment package?  In particular, I'm asking about this on the Anthem of the Seas.

I've heard they are very delicious shakes!

    Thanks in advance

    Back to Day 3...

Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our evening. So much in fact, that we changed our reservation for Night 6 to come back rather than going to 150 Central Park again. I think Wonderland is a must do one time for everyone. It’s just plain fun.

WONDERFUL Review!!  Thank you so much.   I thoroughly enjoyed it and appreciate you sharing the experience.  My mouth is watering for that shrimp!  Can't wait to hear about Day 6!  What other things are you looking to try?    I know what you'll be having for dessert :D

    Thanks again!

    Let’s talk food!

First let me say this...We all have different palates, and different tastes. I’ve eaten anything from meat on a stick on a street corner in Beijing to at a 3 star Michelin restaurant, and everything in between. I’ve had my recipes published multiple times in the paper in Tampa, and my chocolate cake was listed as the best chocolate layer cake in Tampa Bay. I’d like to think I know what I’m talking about when it comes to food. But really, it doesn’t matter. It’s all just my opinion. Food is food...what constitutes good food is different to everyone...but I just plain like food. My figure is proof of that.

So take what I say with a grain of salt. Nothing I’m eating this week is at the level of Alinea (which if you want to spoil yourself while in Chicago, look it up. Absolutely incredible meal!), but I’m not expecting it to be...I am hoping it’s a step up from an on shore chain, however. If it tastes good, it tastes good...and I’m going to tell you! And if I don’t like it, you’ll know that as well.

    And now, without further ado:

    Dinner Night 1 - 150 Central Park

I just finished your dinner review and can I just say I LOVE it!   You do know a lot about food and your descriptions are very insightful.  Thank you for talking about texture as well as taste.  I also find it helpful to know what your husband thought too as it is very subjective, like you said.    The captions following each photo are terrific - as are the photos themselves!  GREAT JOB!!!!

I am very much looking forward to the rest of your review and I especially hope you go to Wonderland 😄

Thank you for sharing with us!!!

We have done this as my wife is not an alcohol drinker.  You have to give an excuse and a supervisor will need to authorized the override.  You will need to buy the unlimited non-alcohol drinks package for your spouse.  I did the math and this worked out cost wise as she drinks specialty coffee and I do enjoy the fresh squeezed OJ in the morning.

What excuse did you make?  Is letting them know you drink a lot and your spouse doesn't enough??
