  1. We are on the Caribbean cruise on 13th November and have to do a test.

Do the tests have to be observed as in via video call or just you uploading a picture of the test.

Company called chequp in the UK do both.

    Thanks for any help.

  2. We were on during the last World Cup.

It was indeed on in the cinema and golden lion, and many other places.

We are on the round trip from England to the Caribbean from November 13th.

On the way from New York to the Caribbean England beat the USA, Sorry play the USA😁

Good fun should be had by all.

  3. We have a cruise on Qm2 in September in a balcony , booked 18 months ago on the Cunard fare, have had over 40 cruises with cunard , are Diamond World Cub and have been given a 15.30 check in time.

    30 minutes before all aboard.

Called Cunard who said we have to stick to that time and they were unable to change the time.

My friend has been on 1 Cunard cruise booked a saver fare 6 months ago has a 13.30 check in time.

Arrived at Southampton early at 1145 and boarded easily. There was a bit of confusion at check-in as staff hadn’t seen an ArriveCAN form for entering Canada at Halifax before.  It is one form with both my wife and my name on it.  This couldn’t be correct, we should have one form each - NO!

When in the cabin I rang the front desk.  Question: our 3-week cruise is made up of 3 voyages, Southampton to New York, New York to New York and New York to Southampton.  Wi-Fi for 3 weeks would cost 21 days x $15 per day = $315 and I can only offset my $135 Diamond benefit against it - not my wife’s as well.  As we are on 3 separate Voyages shouldn’t I get $135 benefit per voyage.  They didn’t know and reply is taking some time!

Looking at cabin plan in little booklet in room I note that all deck 8 cabins are grey in colour with no numbers.  I do hope they are not expecting that much Covid isolation!!

PS:  The kind lady at the front desk has just phoned to say our 3 week cruise is made up of 3 voyages and therefore I am entitled to $135 Diamond benefit for each sector which will more than make up the $315 -win win!  Very happy bunny!

Re the Internet, you need to go to illuminations and check.

When we did the Caribbean it was the same 3 segments.

Use all the time up on the last day of each segment,  and then start again.

We bought the pillows and the mattress

    Haven't regretted either

Had a large VAT/Customs charge on the pillows but they were worth it.

Mattress was from the UK and was a long lead in time but seems the same as on the ship. Very comfortable!

    Hi,

    Are the pillows available online?.

    Thanks

We have sailed with Cunard previously but this August will be our first time in Princess Grill.
Any tips would be warmly welcomed.
we are considering purchasing the coffee package. Do you think this is necessary in Princess Grill? I particularly love lattes.
Also will there be bottled water and soft drinks in the cabin or Grills lounge?
    thank you so much

Bottled water is included free of charge in PG,Soft drinks will be found in the fridge , but are chargeable.

  7. My view is they won't sail till 2022

My reason is the government have said it could take till the autumn 2021 to get all those who want the vaccination done.

So that could, be September or October.

Then the company need to get all the staff back , and trained up, including all the new staff,to replace those that have left.

    Then its the Flu season.

Then I think back to normal by March 2022.

I Want to get back on a ship as soon as I can, but my first concern,is those who are risking their lives everyday,  and all those who have lost loved ones.

    Cruising is secondary.

  8. How many cruise staff do we think will come back after a year away from the ships.

Surely most, if not all will have now found employment at home.

Would take a lot of training to get new staff up to speed, along with the white star training.

A good friend of mine who was a senior member of staff has a new job outside of cruising, and has no intention of going back.
