Port fees should have been refundable and they did give my husband cash for his credit balance. We've sailed many other cruise lines, dozens of times, understand non-refundable vs refundable, and have never had a cruise line not zero out the account by charging or crediting our valid credit card on the account. So weird!

We sailed our first MSC Cruise on Magnifica this past weekend--3 day cruise for Super Bowl and to check out their private island. We loved the ship and shows, food and dining service was definitely sub-par. This comment concerns their on-board billing. They put a hold on our cards--no issue and billed each onboard transaction as it occurred so that we always had a zero balance. Until....we couldn't dock at their island due to high winds and they credited us the port fees of $41.00 each. When I checked the account the final night (the day we missed the port) hubby's account had a $41 credit and mine a $3.50 credit. All good, I figured they would just put the credit back on our credit card. As we went to check off the ship, they stopped him and told him he had to go settle his account. ???Ok??? He still had a credit balance and they gave him $41 in cash. My account was apparently good get off but I haven't seen a credit to my card. Those we were traveling with also had small credit balances as we departed (less than $10). Is this the way they usually do the billing? Do they just keep all the small credits?
