  1. Thanks everyone for all the information. I am grateful to have this sight as my go to for info.
  2. We have two cruises booked for March and April 2021 on the Eurodam. Both leaving from Fort Lauderdale. The first cruise is in the Caribbean and then staying on for the Panama Canal cruise to Vancouver Canada.. booked separately, so we have obc for both. We have never traveled on this long a cruise or a B2b before. Very excited, we just turned 3* and I know that we get 25% of dinner reservations and the wine packages. Would any obc left be carried over to the second cruise, and if we purchased a wine package would we be able to carry it over also. All of our obc is from Hal so I know if we don’t use it we loose it but does that apply to a B2b. Please anyone that has experience with B2b cruises give us a heads up on how it works. Thanks.
  3. Thank you everyone. We have decided to wait until we are on board and go to the excursion desk to talk to them. Our first excursion is not until 11 days into the cruise, so we have time on board to figure things out.
  4. We are gong on a Panama Canal cruise at the end of September leaving from Vancouver on the Nieuw Amsterdam. All of our tours have been booked. Our TA just called us the other day to let us know that he price of the cruise has gone down and they have been able to negotiate with Hal to get us free beverage cards and some credit towards tours. My dilemma is do I cancel some tours now and rebook on board. I was told that to use the tour credit we would have to book on board. If I do that and the tour that we want is sold out then we would have to take our second choice. My DH wants to wait until we get on board, go to the tour desk and talk to someone, then cancel with them and rebook right away. I seem to remember that there was a cost to cancel a tour if it was within so many days until the tour was to happen. Hoping that someone with more experience than us can give us some advice.
  5. Thanks everyone. I am sure that with all the help that you have given me we will find some nice wine to take aboard.
  6. Thanks everyone for your help. I am sure that we will find some wine to take on board.
  7. SSorry I should have mentioned that it was on Hal and I know hat we are allowed to bring on one bottle per person and anything over that will be charged $18 corkage. I have purchased a wine package on a past cruise aboard Hal and was not real happy with my choices. I like a Rose or a white Zinfandel. When I figure out my cost to buy on shore and include the cost of corkage it works out cheaper than buying on board whether a single bottle or one from a package. At least this way I get a bottle that I am happy with. A bottle that I like bought in the US cost me $4.50 and equivalent in Canada is over $12. I am sure not an expensive wine drinker. LOL. I googled places close to the cruise ship terminal within walking distance and all I came up with is RJ market. Glad to hear that there are other places. Thanks for our help.
  8. Hello everyone. We are going on a Panama Canal cruise in September starting from Vancouver and our first stop is San Francisco. Would anyone have any first hand knowledge about buying wine from somewhere close to the cruise terminal. I want to buy al least 10 bottles to take on board with us. Cheaper buying in US than Vancouver
  9. Thanks everyone for the info. We did receive the beverage cards from Hal as a gift because the price of the cruise went down after final payment. Our TA negotiated this for us. I did go down toward the end of the cruise and asked what would happen to the unused portion of the beverage card and was told that it would be refunded to us, but I know that sometimes we are not given the correct information. First time ever having a beverage card either bought or given to us. Looking forward to many more cruises. We learn more each cruise.
  10. We arrived home on December 9 from the Sea of Cortez cruise aboard the Eurodam. We had cash left on our beverage cards and I was wondering when we would receive a final accounting from Hal. Does it take a couple of months. I want to make sure that he left over money is credited back to us.
  11. Thanks for the info. I am sure we can find some whites that I might like. Paying a corkage fee at $18 a bottle will still be cheaper than buying on board ship. Sent from my iPad using Forums
  12. We are cruising out of San Diego in November 2018, staying at the Wyndham San Diego Bayside for the night before the cruise. Would anyone know if there is somewhere close that we can buy a few bottles of wine to take on board ship. Thanks. Sent from my iPad using Forums
  13. We are staying at the Wyndham San Diego Bayside, across the street from the cruise terminal for the night before the cruise leaves. Would anyone know if there is a place to buy wine to take with us. Thanks. Sent from my iPad using Forums
