Chill full. playful. Sinful. isn't trending on twitter or FB or anything....clearly millennials are not intrigued. CC is not where millennials congregate and isn't representative of what millennials think.
I wasn't necessarily referring to the millennials only, as I suspect cruising is still not their cup of tea at this time in their lives. Even my Gen X friends are still shunning cruising because of the stereotype attached to it. The advertising is an attempt to dispel that perception.

This is all just marketing. Some will find it "offensive", others would be intrigued. It's about who their target audience is, and most would agree that they are targeting the next generation of 'cruisers' for the longevity of the business. As long as their target audience is intrigued then they've succeeded. It doesn't hurt to generate controversy and keep people like us talking and debating about the appropriate use of the word "chillful".

Explanation as to what happened to the sea:
OK, that is cool!

Anyone know what kind of equipment they have? Free weights, kettle bells, bosu balls, medicine balls, exercise balls?
Thanks in advance.

We just got off the Solstice Alaska cruise. We didn't have a drink package, nor did we purchase any drinks, and all the desserts were free of charge. We even had several in one sitting.

Solstice
Deck 3
Room 3172
Quiet. If there's loud music in the grand foyer late at night, you can request the set of double doors leading to the corridor be closed. No noise from the casino located directly above.
No balcony so no view, soot, smoke, wind.

Luggage valet in Seattle is available to all cruisers including us first timers staying in an inside cabin. I read about the service prior to our trip, and inquired with Guest Relations on the fifth day of sailing and made it just in time as the deadline was 6PM that day. They certainly don't advertise it, so I would advise that you sign up for the program during the earlier part of the cruise. Everything went without a hitch and we got all our bags when we landed in LAX.

What does the fitness center on stolstice have in terms of free weights? I don't mean machines. How heavy do the dumbells go? Do they have kettlebells and if so how heavy? Any preset weight bars? I saw those on a couple of NCL ships.
No kettle bells. Dumbells go up to 75lbs. No barbells.
They also have bosuballs, medicine balls, exercise balls, foam rollers.

Awesome pictures with different perspective.

Would second talking to her doctor. Something as simple as taking OCP temporarily may postpone the "illness" by a few days to weeks.
-
Never mind. Just got off the phone with Celebrity. Prices go up if purchased onboard - $249 vs. $224.
-
Thanks for the responses. Is the price the same or higher when signing up on board vs. purchasing online?

Anyone with experience with internet speed on this particular ship and route? I may want to remote in to my desktop to do some work, but if it's too slow then I may not bothering purchasing the package. Is there a particular time of day (e.g. 3am) during which the speed is fast enough to get something accomplished?
Thanks in advance.

In that case I hope the current weather forecast for Aug 14 holds firm - 'cloudy with some rain' 😁

Exciting! We booked a similar trip (kayak + trek) with Above and Beyond Alaska for August. I know it's going to be the highlight of our trip - hoping to experience an ice cave!

Just got off Equinox last week, no kettle bells.
My favorite gym amenity: the cold towels!
Thanks.
-
Love that towel Yoda!

I've scanned previous threads re: Solstice gym equipment, and kettle bells weren't available in 2014. Does anyone know if the ship equipped with kettle bells now in 2017.

The feeling is that the ship won't be able to get into either Tracy or Endicott arm. We ended up getting into Juneau about 2 1/2 hrs early because of the situation. We just added another excursion and has a great time!
More port time is always a good thing 😊

I am trying to comprehend your post.
This is a cruise message board.
Not all of us have the opportunity to spend a long time in Africa.
We do what we can. It might not be something that you would want but it is what we came to this site to find answers.
????
The title is African safari tips, ideas? I was just sharing.
-
Not sure how you do a cruise to Africa and do a safari. I guess through a land tour pre/post cruise. We had an amazing time in Botswana and Zambia books through Lion World and Sanctuary resorts...

After reading your first 2 installments, I was eagerly waiting for this report. Yours is the only thread I enjoy reading on CC - very entertaining. Love the Antelope Canyon shot, BTW.
