  1. Our last cruise on Adventure we had traditional dining in the MDR at 5.  There was a sign at the entrance noting that the doors would close at 5:15.  Our table was very close to the doors (yuck -that's a story in itself) and I can confirm that most nights, the doors were closed by 5:20 - 5:30.  It was rare to see anyone show up after the doors were closed.

So to answer your question, your window would be 5:15 - 5:30 in my opinion.  (more towards 5:30 so you don't have to stand in line waiting for the doors to open)

    Hope that helps.

  2. I can confirm that 10:30 is the first time slot on Adventure out of Terminal 5 at Port Canaveral.  (did it in December and will board again in March)

We had/have 10:30 for both cruises.  Note that in December they did not stop anyone with a later check in time from entering the building and checking in.  They just made everyone sit in a group of chairs according to the timeslot they received when doing the original check-in (on the app or web).  Then they "released" the seating sections row by row.  This helped keep the time you stood in line to a minimum.

    Hope that helps.

So, every time someone loses their receipt or has to dig the receipt out of their wallet or someone has to pay for additional days, cars may line up at the exit?

We were there in December. Nobody checked anything when you exited the T5 parking garage. They just raised the gate and waved.

  4. Heading to Bonaire in a month or so and have booked a cabana at the Oasis Beach Resort.  We plan to get there and back by taxi from the cruise port.  (It's about 7 klicks per the map)

Does anyone have a recent experience with taking a taxi in Bonaire?  (short ride, not a tour)  Information (besides the rate chart for long rides/tours) is a bit slim on this topic.  Some posts point out that there are not a lot of them available, and this is a concern of mine for returning to the ship.

    Any information is appreciated.

    Thanks

  5. To the OP's original question.....

We were on the Adventure a month ago.  They still enforce the "one entrée at a time" rule.

(At least the waiter we had enforced it)

I tried to create the "surf and turf" on lobster night and had to finish one before the second would be served.  And I did mention I wanted to do a surf and turf.  No go.

  6. Same, Ports of Call survey.  I took the survey.  I'll have to admit, I didn't know anything about 80% of the ports listed (Caribbean) and the private islands other than Coco Cay and Labadee.  Though I thought some of the island names were for other cruise lines private locations.  (Great Stirrup Cay for one)

  7. One other thing, and this may not be an issue now (it was on our last few cruises)...  The wine list at Vintages was out of date.  They did not have many of the wines printed on the menu.  It was easier/quicker to ask them what wines they actually had (as opposed to picking one from the menu and being told it wasn't available)  😉

  8. It's a lot of fun.  We cruised over Halloween last fall on the Explorer of the Seas.  A lot of people dressed up and there was a costume judging and dancing on the ice arena.  Also had a parade of kids and later adults.  I handed out candy to the kids (and as newmericies mentioned) once the crew found out they wanted the treats as much as the kids!  😉   Note to self, take more candy the next time!

  9. Maybe a bit off subject, but we use Maps.me when travelling to places where we plan to do a lot of walking or driving.  (port stops in the Caribbean/Mexico for example).   I leave the phone in Airplane Mode the whole time and it works great.

But you have to prep the App before, in a place where you can be online.  (download maps of the area you are visiting, set up sites you want to visit, etc.)  Easy to use imho.

Ok, just got my Gold status, the price through MGM site isn't better that the one I got before, where do you see the comp nights offers?

When we made RCL Diamond I had my MGM account linked, so now am Gold at MGM.

Last month I had an email from MGM noting comped rooms and lower rates.  I clicked the link in that email and it took me in to the MGM site.  I could choose different properties and see the calendar of comped or lower cost rooms for each one.  If I wanted to stay mid-week at the Excalibur in June, I could have gotten the weekdays comped.  As it is, I booked a weekend and got one comped night (Friday) and lower rates on Saturday and Sunday.

The Resort Fee is shown in the total, but will be waived (per fine print) at checkout.  I followed the inserted link to the program rules and did not see anything pertaining to Resort Fees.  So we shall see.... 😉
