Was this at the port or the airport?  I'm curious how long it takes to get to the Long Beach Airport testing site once you get your bag.  I heard it's in the parking lot somewhere and they ahve drive up testing so probably not that close.

The Long Beach airport is TINY and the testing is in a parking lot. Easily a 5 minute walk from the terminal.

Has  anyone (cruising on Carnival), utilized the COVID Test site available at the Long Beach Airport?

I see they have rapid testing available for $20, with results available within 2 hours, however, it appears to be geared for travelers going to Hawaii and I am wondering if the same test is acceptable for cruising passengers.

I used it for my 12/11 cruise- tested on 12/10. They have a section for Hawaii testing and a section for travel. Super easy and you just tell them you are traveling internationally.

I was told this by several people when "I felt bad" for my TA because of cancelled cruises.

Are you a TA?  If not, maybe a TA could clarify?

You are referring to "personal injury lawyers" and that's standard for that field.  When I needed a lawyer for something financial I paid $600/hour...which could be divided into 10 minute increments.  So, if I e-mailed him...it was $60 just for him to open my e-mail.

Carnival paid some commissions on cruises that were past final payment, not all though or even most. Many agencies charge admin fees specifically because of cancellations- their agents do hours and hours of work for zero pay. They should be disclose up front though.

  5. Hi all,

I'm currently booked for a cruise on the Panorama in june- quad cabin GTY balcony.  When I booked, the next cheapest rate was over $400 more. Since summer bookings usually don't drop I figured the GTY was a safe bet. Now after last week's scare and all of the news and updates, the price for early saver has dropped to $80 more than my current booking. I can't decide if I want to take the risk and pay $80 for the possibility of saving $ if the price continues to drop after final payment this weekend? Or should I reprice into my current rate code, which will save me $300 right now but wont be adjusted in case of huge price drops. Thanks!

Thank you - this is very helpful.  I guess we will play it by ear - I think he would be happier with the 6 and 7 year olds, (because that is who he spends time with at home), than 2 and 3 year old kids, but I certainly will abide with whatever the staff decides.

In our experience (6 cruises with a Penguin) the majority of the kids in the club will be 3/4/5, with a much heavier concentration on the 4/5 year olds. For night owls they combine the age groups so he'll be able to go over to the older kid side. Now that my kid is a Stingray she uses night owls to go back to the penguin room because they have more imaginative toys (my little pony, etc) and she misses those.

Also, my kid is an only child and while she was a penguin she was the youngest of all the cousins. I worried because she spent most of her time around older kids even at school (youngest kid in her preschool/kinder class) but she never complained about being around smaller kids.

  7. Am I the only one who doesn't like a super heavy pour? I like my drinks to be balanced, not burn my throat.

Also, Carnival has never watered things down like Royal- after a week on that ship I thought I had a high alcohol tolerance. One drink on land and nope, it was their weak drinks.

We got an offer from the upgrade fairy to a spa balcony and I assumed we still get all the perks of the spa balcony.  If that's not the case if someone could please let me know that would be great.  We debated about booking the spa balcony but at the time it was $600 more then a regular balcony so passed but when we got the offer we jumped on it.  Husband loves the spa but for me its okay.

From what has been said in the past, as long as you've paid for it at all everything is included. Ours seems to fall into a weird area because although it wasn't a paid upgrade, it technically wasn't an upgrade as there was no cabin assigned in a lower category.
