Repairs, filming and photo shoots continues around the ship today. My guess is all the glitches should be fixed by the World Cruise in January.
Funny story: the film crew were up at 5 AM setting up their complicated lighting around the center staircase this morning. I guess they didn’t coordinate with the crew. The crew had setup the Christmas decorations around the ship overnight. The film crew had to tear down the Christmas decorations all around the stairs to do their photos and video filming and then put them up again.

In the video, it looked like the door was closed from the outside, and then went past the other door, coming to a stop slightly inside the shower, leaving a large gap...kind of a tricky design that seems to need a 'delicate touch', to close properly.....
Whatever, it probably won't affect me, as my accessible shower probably still has a curtain...
When I shot the video I just tip the door so that it swing shut automatically. You should have a better seal if you tug it a bit when closing.
One couple in in our group is in accessibility room 4035. She didn’t even know there’s supposed to be a curtain. She will report it.

Thanks for those bathroom photo's....curious as to how well the seals work on the doors...it is a pain to have to wipe water off the bathroom floor, after using the shower, when the seals leak....
The seals are good it does leak some water especially if the shower head is directed at the door but it’s not too bad .

Flip inward? I don't quite see how that would work with a person my size.
My mistake. The door flips both ways. I will try to post a video.

Funny story: We noticed our bathroom steamed up a lot. My wife complaint after the first day. Maintenance came but the problem persisted. After the 3rd day she complaint again. We were in our room when engineering came the 2nd time. He opened the vent cover on the ceiling shined a flashlight in and saw the very quiet fan working however the exhaust tube was not connected. He had to send in a carpenter to open up the ceiling. All is fixed when we came back in a few hours. I can feel the airflow if I put my hand over the ceiling cap. You may want to check if your fan is working once you are onboard.

I was 3 weeks in Cuba eating ice creams from local vendors in 6 different cities without a problem. The quality was excellent.
I would take the cruise line advice with a pinch of salt.
Agree. There were a lot of half truths from
the lecturer and the cruise line’s official responses on OFAC compliance. Mire about this later. Thanks.

Let us know if tendering is still required in Santiago de Cuba for your sailing port call tomorrow. Thanks.
There was no tendring for our December 10th 11th stop in Santiago. From our tour guide we are the first ship not rendering. I guess we are lucky the pier is finally repaired. What’s strange is when I called Oceania before our cruise the agent told us correctly that no tendering is needed for Santiago however Cienfuegos is a tendering port but we heard tonight that we are not tendering tomorrow when we arrive. RCL Empress is arriving tomorrow also before us. It will be interesting.

Specialty restaurants, GDR, library and Terrace Cafe, please.
We were in Polo tonight. Per our server the only things changed in Polo were the carpets and the artwork. He said that Toscana was totally redone. He he also said that he and others stayed on board during the refurbishment helping to move furniture.
Below are are photos from Polo. I will post photos from Toscana later.

Thanks Laurence so much, for the photo's and answering questions...any chance to get a look at cabin 4028? Or another accessible one....?
It will be my 'home' for six months, and I was curious to see especially the way the furniture and bathroom is arranged. I realize it's usually impossible until the occupants disembark, but if you do get the chance, it would be appreciated...
Enjoy the rest of your cruise!
No promises but I will do what I can to get more photos of penthouse(gobucks requested) 4028 and other rooms on disembarkation.
i took some photos of the library. I don’t remember how it looked before. There may be a few pieces of chairs changed and the carpet changed. I will post them soon.
If I missed some of your request or some photos I have not covered yet please let me know.
We just finished 2 great days in Santiago de Cuba. I will post info in the Cuba board when I have idle time or after our cruise. IMHO there is a lot of missed information from Oceania that is unfair to passengers and the spirit of supporting the Cuban people.
Photo and video shoots for Oceania brochures and may be on board videos and YouTube segments continued today. The film crew including 2 models is here for our entire 10 days cruise. One passenger commented that peony 99% of the passengers don’t look like them 😄!!!

Really curious what they have done to the room bathrooms and Horizon.
Re : Horizon the changes are relatively minor the chairs are the same, per staff at Horizon the ramps are new or redone for better accessibility, LED chandelier, LED stage lighting... I think there’s LED lights throughout the ship.

Internet speed have actually improved compared to when we were on board a year ago on the Nautica. They now block streaming videos (e.g.) unless you pay for the extra cost streaming package.
WiFi was bad when I was posting at the Horizon. it’s Sea Day and wife was needle pointing. For me just relaxing and browing the web.
The best Wifi i experienced so far is next to the shops and at the Martini bar. Just look for where the new Cisco boxes are on the ceiling.

Starting this topic as a reference and summary of Frequently Asked Question I have encountered in the past 3 months getting ready for our Cuba cruise.
We are on our cruise now to Cuba arriving in Santiago de Cuba tomorrow staying overnight. We are in Cienfuegos on the 12th and 13th. Havana on the 15th from 7 AM to 11 PM. If you have any questions or anything I can watch out for while in port please let me know. For example there has been questions and concerned about how the ports are for folks with mobility issues l will share what We see.

What was your scheduled boarding time? Somehow I doubt that not having a hairdryer immediately upon boarding, was a life altering event and once the room steward was made aware, one was delivered pronto.
I didn't pay attention to the boarding time. We should have hang out at the airport longer instead of going to the terminal immediately. We thought that we could at least sit and take a nap at the terminal before the boarding time. We saw people trickling in between 7 and 9.
We heard many other stories of little things like TVs, safes not working. No not life altering. It was nice that they gave us all free cocktails last night.

The first bedroom photo was from our friends accessibility room 4034. Their closet is located across their desk + mirror.. Their TV locatied on the wall next to the closet. It is in an odd location. It is not possible for them to watch TV in bed!
