  1. I personally would make the decision on how much privacy you want. There is plenty of room for everyone but only one bedroom has the bathroom inside it. The other bathroom is in the front hallway, and is small like a regular stateroom. Star Class is wonderful but I recently sailed Harmony again without Star Class and the cruise was just as amazing. When comparing costs of the staterooms just remember that with Star Class you really don’t pay extra for anything and the aqua suites are pretty amazing! You’ll have a great time no matter which you pick!!

  2. I was set on booking the Oasis, but as some of you may have seen in my other post, they were charging more/person for 3 in a cabin as opposed to 2. So, extending my possible ports to Ft. Lauderdale I see that the Harmony is actually cheaper for us, despite it being a newer vessel of the same class. I already searched through some old posts comparing them, but there are some specifics I'm still not sure of. Does the Harmony have the following:

-The Kummelweck Sandwich (The most important thing by far)

-At least one 24 hr hot tub

    -A Jazz club

-A comparable, or better, Solarium area

Those are the things that come to mind that I frequented on the Oasis. It looks like the Harmony has all the same features, plus the slides, as the Oasis, but I want to be sure. If so, I'd say it's worth the extra 2 hour drive to Ft. Lauderdale to save some $ and ride a newer ship.

Pretty sure you will enjoy the Harmony. I don’t use the solarium but the biggest complaint about Harmony is that there is no pool in the solarium. So if that is essential then you might go Oasis.

  3. I posted this before but wondering if anyone knows. We will be sailing on Oasis of the Seas and booked the Aqua Theatre Suite 8330 and the adjoining ocean view balcony stateroom 8328. Does anyone know it the balcony doors can be opened up therefore allowing access to both balconies? Thanks

I had this room on Allure and the balcony door could not be opened. We were disappointed but were able to get an extra key to the aqua theatre suite for the people in the room next door.

  4. Does anyone know if you are in Sky Class if you can get escorted off the ship if you use self assist and go early? From what I have read on here there are usually 2 times to get escorted off the ship but I don't think they are early Thanks

I was sky class on Harmony a couple weeks ago and when we inquired about it we were told we could meet in the suite lounge and be escorted off at 7:15, 8:15, or 9:00.

  5. Another question on internet packages.... it says the price in the cruise planner is discounted but we are Diamond due to our Captains Club Elite status so we should get some discount for that if we buy a package...so can I get the early purchase discount AND the Diamond discount? If so how do I do it? Thanks in advance.

I recently was on Harmony and I purchased one package ahead of time and one on board with the Diamond discount. i felt I got a better deal on what I bought ahead of time. On board I received a free day or 22.99 off a package. Total after discount for the week was $116.94. I waited until the end of the cruise to get my sister the internet for a couple sea days and after my discount only paid 8.99. That was great!

  6. We just booked a PO Suite in September on Allure. I am usually not a beach person but, DH is. I'd like to surprise him and book one. How much do they cost and what comes with them? Thanks in advance.

I believe I paid $250 for the bungalow and you're allowed up to 8 people. It is in a roped off area at the end of Columbus Cove. Access is monitored by two attendants. There's plenty of sun and shade. You get a cooler of water bottles, floating mats, loungers, and a personal bar attendant. The Columbus Cove food area is directly behind the bungalows. It was a wonderful, relaxing place to be and close enough to the kids activities if you have children.

  7. We've booked a cruise on Harmony of the seas on June 23 and I'm interested in renting a bungalow on Labadee for our day there. However the entire time since booking all cabanas and bungalows have shown that they are unavailable for booking online and say to check once onboard. The only thing I see available to book are private loungers and beach beds.

I assume this means they have all been booked? I've seen mixed comments online, some people saying they booked bungalows online, others saying they're always onboard only. What are my odds at being able to book one onboard? If I'm not able to I'd like to get the covered loungers or a beach bed at least, but I'm nervous that if I wait until I'm onboard I won't be able to get anything.

I just returned from Labadee and I booked the bungalow online many months ago. There are not many of them but they are incredible. We along with our bungalow neighbors both agreed we enjoyed it much more than the over water cabanas on barefoot beach. Unfortunately I think they may be booked if you cannot get one but I would keep checking back. Someone may cancel one. Good luck! Labadee is fun no matter where you sit!

  8. In preparation for my trip on the Adventure, I've got a couple of quick questions.

    1. Can drink packages be upgraded? If I buy a soda package, can it be upgraded to a refreshment package for just the difference?

    2. Do they ever do any on board specials for the drink packages (versus buying in advance)?

    3. Are the celebration cakes worth it? Both my wife and I are celebrating our birthdays on board (2 days apart). One night will be in Chopps, but the other night will be in the MDR (last night). Thinking of ordering a cake for the "day in between" which should be a formal night. Is the cake worth the cost?

    Thanks.

Never any deals onboard! If you want to upgrade I'd cancel soda package and buy the package you want online before you go.

As for the cakes, they are a nice surprise but not that tasty. If you're going to Chop's I would certainly choose one of their desserts over ordering a cake. Tell them it's your birthday and I believe they will put a candle in your dessert and sing. Enjoy!!

  9. Hi again!

I have been so happy with the efficiency of responses to my questions on this forum and I am very grateful for this resource to help me plan my trip!

Quick question about My Time Dining.... while using the cruise planner...are you able to reserve a different time for the main dining room for each night? Such as I want to eat at 7pm one night but 8pm the next night? We want to reserve times around our showtimes but when I was using the cruise planner to make my reservations, I did not see a button to add an additional time for the next day but instead it just changed the My Time Dining I had picked for the previous night. Am I missing something here? Please help! :)

    Best,

    Victoria

    Harmony of The Seas 5/12/18

Unless there's a complication with the website it should take you through each day individually and have you book a time. That is what I have done on previous cruises. That's the beauty of my time is eating around your schedule. Good Luck!

  10. Does Harmony have the escape room or is it called something else I am overlooking ? Are reservations needed ? What is the cost ? Anyone know what days & times for Eastern itinerary in June ?

    TIA.

Escape the Rubicon. When we went reservations were available almost every day at every hour and filled up quick. Maximum of 12 people can go in at one time. It was only 8.99 last summer but I'm going again next month and it is now 19.99 per person. Not sure it is worth it but I can say that since I've done it once. You may want to pay to try it once. It was fun. Later in the week, I believe on the last sea day, they have a free "puzzle break" in the on air club which my family thought was just as fun. You just have to look for it in the cruise compass. We would probably have missed it if the Escape room leader hadn't told us about it.

    Enjoy!!

  11. We haven't cruised in two years and I don't see on Royal's site the max price for a drink that is included in the package. We are sailing on Freedom this Saturday if anyone has this information I would appreciate it.

    Thanks

I just read an article that says it is $12 on all ships except on Oasis and Quantum class. Their limit has been raised to $13. If you go over the limit you just pay the difference.

  12. Going on Harmony later this year (reservations have not opened yet) and I was wondering if I can Pick the DECK we can dine on or is that picked for You? Also, how do they notify You of which Deck You will be dinning on? ........and as always Thanks in Advance

On my Harmony sailing the MTD was on deck 4 and 5. Only deck 3 was traditional.

  13. Star Class is pretty amazing! I can't say whether it's worth $4,000 more but if you can afford it, try it! In addition to all you listed you basically can do anything on the ship you want to and it will not cost you. You can eat in a specialty restaurant every night and not be charged a thing. Obviously this would be excessive but our Genie told us people had done it. You can order from the specialty restaurants for room service! We told him what drinks we liked ahead of time and our room was stocked full of everything we mentioned. We joked about being spoiled by flashing our purple card and passing up lines everywhere and how we could use it at home! We are on the Harmony again soon without Star Class :(. It's going to be interesting to see the difference!

As for your decision, I have a teenage boy also, and whatever you do I'd stick with either 2 bedroom so everyone has some privacy and 2 bathrooms! You and your wife will be thrilled with whichever suite you end up with!!

  14. I thought Escape Room and Puzzle Break were two names for the same thing. We just did the Escape Room on Anthem, missed seeing anything about Puzzle Break in 270. The Escape Room was a lot of fun, we got out in about 40 minutes. There was a small child in our group, though it really went above their head. This is a great exercise in expanding your brain's usual way of thinking. I had never done one before so it took me a bit to get what was going on. It's also a challenge in social relations and the group process. How to tell people they are wrong when you are only 90% sure and don't want to insult them, that sort of thing. Thankfully it was free on Anthem. I would really be put out if there were a charge, only because I don't use any of the free seaplex activities, the iFly, or wave rider. Why single out the Escape Room? It's only one staff member running it, very low risk of injury or damage to facilities.

It was free on Anthem?!!!!!! Wow is all I can say!

  15. We did the escape room on Harmony and it was a lot of fun. The kids did the puzzle break also and said it was fun. The big difference is you have to have a reservation and pay for the escape room. The puzzle break is free and you just show up. We paid 8.99 a person for the escape room and it was worth it. However, we are going on Harmony again in March and they now are charging 19.99 for it. We do not think it's worth that. We will stick to the puzzle break for free.

  16. The only junior suite I've stayed in was great. Very spacious and had a walk in closet. The biggest difference would be not getting access to the concierge lounge or being able to order of the main dining room menu for room service, or the suite deck by the pool I'm not sure what ship you are on but I've found that the way they have moved the concierge lounge to the 17th floor of some of the oasis ships I rarely use it anymore (quicker to go to the Diamond lounge). I feel the concierge access is a more beneficial on the Freedom class and below, especially with the windjammer at breakfast and lunch where they allow you to bring your food into the specialty restaurants for a quieter experience.

Good luck with your decision. You'll have a great time either way!!

  17. Usually the reader was at their register which was not within reach so you would have to take your band off. Not a big deal I guess, we just always had our card with us too and found it easier to give the card to them.

Also, there is no identification on the band so in the lounges when we ordered at a table I didn't trust that the band wouldn't get mixed up with someone else's. We were given different colors so we personally could identify our bands among the family but I highly recommend writing your name on it in case there is a mix up.

  18. On Harmony we found them to be great for opening the door to our stateroom but we used our sea pass cards to buy drinks rather than taking our band off to give the waiter everytime because they can't bring the reader out to you. Hoping they will improve that technology, and maybe they have in the last 6 months.

  19. I experienced this same thing. Your children will be able to board with you but they will have to drop their luggage off at the drop off like everyone else. Someone will meet you and take your luggage from you and take it straight to your room. You will be able to go straight to your room but their room will not be available until 1:00. They can join your dinner reservations, there will just be a charge for the two non star class people. I felt it would have been better to all be in the same room. It was awkward have two people with free reign and two who didn't. It kept us from using the "star class" to it's full potential but it was VERY nice to have for what we did use it for!! Enjoy!

  20. Columbus the musical is a comedy about a very distant relative of Columbus who didn't make much out of his life. It uses hit songs we all know to tell the story. My family thought it was the best show of the week and we would have seen it again if we had had the time. I don't know about Journey in Time but I've never seen a bad Ice production on Royal so I'm sure it's good!
