  1. I’ll cruise.  I’m with the individual “Choice”.  If you prefer not to be vaccinated and get sick, then that is your choice.  The unvaccinated take the chance of getting sick and being put off the ship, incurring all expenses associated.  Those vaccinated have very little to no chance of getting seriously ill from COVID.

  2. We are doing an Eastern Caribbean/Southern Caribbean B2B leaving 9 Jan 22 on the Equinox for a total of 21 days.  Been to all ports before, but will be so ready to get out of the cold.  We normally sail at the time, and should have been left on the Reflection for a B2B several days ago.

LOL--- Boarding--- Just walk on whenever you want to--- Nobody checks the cards. I learned that from a guy with a baseball cap sitting beside us in the waiting area--- ( was going to mention the logo on his cap , but, better not ).

This has been our experience also, with the exception of our last cruise, Jan 2020 on Reflection.  They actually boarded suites first, then Conceirge.  We were Aqua, and they check our boarding pass for timeframe.  We had 1100 so were goo to go, but they had others with later boarding times wait.

  4. We would choose Concierge for a better cabin location and foot stools on balcony (with Reno not sure if this is still a perk), but only if Aqua price is out of reach and Concierge price is only a bit over the Regular Veranda price.  Additional Captain’ Club points are nice also.  Next scheduled cruise is in Concierge.  Concierge was $400 more then Veranda, Aqua was $1200 more then Concierge.  Cabin location was the driving factor in our choice this time.

  5. We had to cancel and rebook (sort of). Our cruises were for Jan 2021 (B2B which we were uncomfortable taking with current world situation); unfortunately we already had another B2B scheduled for Jan 2022.  We ended up canceling and rebooking one of the Jan 2021 legs to Sep 2021, and pushed the other Jan 2021 booking out to the last booking available in 2022 (which we have no intention of taking) as a place holder.  We will move that booking again to late 2022 or early 2023 once itineraries are released.  What this did for us was allowed us to keep our “on board booking incentive,” nor did we pay and cancellation fees with Celebrity or our TA, but on the downside we had to pay going rate and received current offered perks.  Good Luck!

A friend who has many loyalty credits on Royal told me that she doesn't think they'll transfer to Celebrity...is this true? I'll let her know what you knowledgeable folks say.

If you are a Diamond on Royal and book a Celebrity, you will get the Elite perks And your room card will state Elite.  But ... if you had 150 points with Royal and 0 points with Celebrity, you would still have 0 points Celebrity and would need to build 750 points with Celebrity before you would be an Elite PLUS.  It is confusing, google Reciprocity Royal Caribbean to Celebrity for a more in-depth explanation.

Points do not transfer, but status does ... I.e., Diamond=Elite.  Unfortunately, Royal Caribbean status tops out at Elite ... I.e, Diamond PLUS=Elite.

I love the Equinox because the cabins haven't yet been Hoppenized.  Unfortunately she got her hands on the Retreat, which I found to be cold and sterile and providing absolutely no service.  So just didn't go there.  Luminae was excellent.

We have booked AQ, so won’t get to use Luminae or The Retreat.  Thanks for info on partial refurb of The Retreat on Equinox, when we book our next Suite, we will steer clear of The Equinox until they get the refurb complete.

Equinox actually got the GastroPub in 2014 during that dry dock.  It got Slush at the same time.

EQ had a partial revolution in early 2019.  Only partial because of the incident with the crane in the Bahamas.  She received the Suite Retreat makeover in Michaels Club, part of the retreat update to the Solstice Deck, but not the elevator or hot tub on the Suite Retreat deck that was formerly the Solstice Deck.

We were on her in December 2019 and she was in great condition.

What is Slush and is GastroPub a speciality restaurant?

Equinox has the hot glass show but no Lawn Club Grill or Porch restaurants.  I'm pretty sure the modified revolution added additional seating in the lawn area adjacent to the Sunset Bar. The Passport Bar was reconfigured a  with new tables and chairs. As mentioned, Cellar Masters is now a Gastro Pub with TV screens. This was the only thing we disliked about the revolution. Your sea pass will be in the mail slot outside of your cabin.

Without Lawn Club and the Porch, were Tuscan, Murano, Sushi on 5, and Quisane the only Specialty restaurants?

  11.  Since ships aren’t sailing anytime soon, thought I ask a question I’d been wondering about for awhile.  We have sailed every ”S”  Class ship with the exception of the Equinox, which we intend to remedy in Jan 2022, and every ship has been slightly different.  What are the differences on the Equinox, and did you like her better?

  12. We have a B2B Jan 4/Jan 15 booked on the Reflection.  Haven’t cancelled yet, but am considering.   Looked up pricing on both recently and they were way above our purchase price.  The Jan 4 one, showed only OV cabins available, so looks like we may have a full ship, or that Celebrity is blocking rooms in prep of limited passengers.  Who knows ... will make final decision in Sep.
