An SF overnight gives lots of options.  Even if you aren't into the city, it makes it feasible to hit some great locations.  To the north, look into Stinson Beach, Muir Woods, Bodega Bay, or Sonoma Valley, or Napa.  To the south, you can hit Half Moon Bay, Pescadero, Santa Cruz, or even Monterey.

Note that if you want to go to Muir Woods you MUST have reservations in advance

I did an online chat with a Celebrity agent and he said I DO have the premium package but he didn't know anything about the code on the boarding pass.....  maybe the agent answering my email will know more.  I really hope it isn't messed up forcing me to stand in a long line at guest services to get it fixed.

I sent an email weeks ago and never got an answer, so I called.  The agent said my onboard account  indeed showed I had the Classic package (CALL) but saw that I had the Premium booked.  After a few minutes on hold she was able to get it fixed, and now my Xpass shows the PALL code.

Not to poke the hornets nest but also wondering if this is yet another cost cut. Slower ships use less fuel.

Whale strikes are a real issue, and it's not just cruise ships but also all other ships.  Whale-ship collisions are currently a leading cause of death for large whales, and scientists estimate that over 80 blue, humpback, and fin whales are killed by vessel collisions on the West Coast of the United States each year.  There are efforts to try and mitigate this and keep marine traffic informed - https://boi.ucsb.edu/active_projects/whale-strikes

  4. It was always my understanding that most of the people in line at guest services on day one were there to remove the automatic gratuities....  and there are always a lot of them.  Maybe I'm misinformed.

I keep auto-gratuities on and cash tip to servers along the way and leave a little for the room steward at the end.

With the elevate package it should say pall and call both , at least that is what mine says.

But do either get comped Room Service or expanded menu?

AQ gets a slightly expanded room service menu and Suite get a few more options on top of that.... The menus are in the app.  AQ pays a fee but suites don't.

It’s been a topic on these boards for a couple of weeks now.

If you like lobster, get ready to pay $16.95 plus gratuity if you’d like a second one, unless you’re in a suite.

No charge for the extra tail in Blu either for AquaClass

If your boarding pass says PALL then you should be good to go.

The OP was trying to verify the package before the boarding passes come out....  it seems the only way to do that is to look at the invoice to be sure PALL is shown there as what's online doesn't seem to be clear.

  9. What do you mean by "check in"... checking in for your cruise or just getting your cruise to show up on the app?

You can also check in for your cruise on the website, if that's what you need.

Have you signed into the app?  Does your cruise come up?  "Check in" is one of the buttons across the bottom.  Note that you have to wait for check in to open up which is about 45 days before sail date.

There are no suites available on any travel site including Royal Caribbean's, but on the Royal Up email it's offering bidding on every suite category.   Is this normal?  Are they planning ahead just in case of cancellations or could their system be behind on bookings?   I was thinking of bidding, but didn't know if it would be a waste of time?

They are backlogging the queue, not only for cancellations, but if those in a lower suite category upgrades that opens the suite up for those who are bidding...

I just received double crown & anchor points for my RoyalUp junior suite upgrade! I originally booked ov balcony so I did not expect to earn the double points. Has anyone been awarded points, then have them taken away after they(Royal) caught their mistake?

I'm thinking you booked before 9/30/21 under the double points promotion rather than getting double points for the JS through RoyalUp.

Thank you!  I will definitely do this.

Actually you have to wait until the ship pulls away from the dock.  Before then all upgrades go through the RoyalUp system.  We experienced this on a recent cruise where our TA locked us out of RoyalUp and we went straight to customer service after boarding and we had to wait until sail away.  This was an 11nt cruise and they offered to upgrade the kids room form inside to balcony for $150pp.

After smiling at you when you hand them the strange bank note, they only remember the nitwit  who thought he / she was being cute.

$2 bills are a total challenge for a crew member to use.

I guess I'm the nitwit, but I've actually had several crew members hand me money and ask me for more of my $2's...  to each their own I guess.  And, why would a $2 bill be any different than a $1, $5 or $10 bill?... they're all US currency
