  1. I believe it’s Nationwide.

Yes it is, but I didn't know if we're allowed to name names or not on these boards, so I didn't.

My policy from Travelsafe provides a $250 benefit for itinerary change only to pay for any non-refundable excursions. The Nationwide plan looks to pay out so long as you still take the cruise.

  2. We're on the Anthem for this Thanksgiving.

I've read all sorts of upgrade threads but none answer my question.

We have 2 balcony cabins with a connecting door, wife and I in one and the kids in the other..... If they offer paid upgrades, what's the possibility of RCL combining us together and offering us a suite?..... I would pay a "little" more for that.

I checked are there are a lot of suites still available on this sailing.

I'm almost hesitant to take a combined upgrade... kids in a separate room behind a lockable door... but I might consider it if the price were right.

  3. You might book direct with RCL to get the rooms you want as sometimes they have rooms available the TA's don't.... then you can transfer it to a TA to get the perks they offer.

I recently did this to get connecting rooms and then transferred it to a big box store TA. Because the TA had a group of rooms already allocated to them they had RCL add us to their group and our fare went down a little..... but we got all the perks of the TA.... free one night dining upgrade, soda package, spa treatment, OBC and a gift card (for the box store) upon our return.

  4. Thanks for quick replies and link to rewards-If I read it right after 125000 points ( valued at $1250) you get a minimum ocean view cabin cruise for 2-up to $2500-seems like a decent deal if you use this-agree?

You're going to charge $125,000 on a card?... in how many years?

The RCI card is a 1% return... other cards have a better return

  5. We're on the Anthem over Thanksgiving... fares were almost $1000 when I booked tickets from SFO..... went down $120 the next day, another $100 the next, another $135 the next then another $50 a few days after that.... I was steaming at having paid so much.... then I discovered that Alaska Airlines has a fare guarantee.... I got future flight credits for all those price drops. Alaska will be my airline of choice in the future.... especially since they just acquired Virgin America

fares are now back to close to what I paid originally....
