Airport experience at SJU has been smooth so far.  Forgot to do the USDA bag inspection before dropping bags at the Delta counter.  It was close and went fast.  We have plenty of time anyways.

while I would love to get home sooner today I hate that morning rush of trying to catch a super early flight.  11am would probably be the earliest flight I would consider booking with luggage’s assistance.

I guess if everthing went perfectly and you were self assist departure in the first call you could be at SJU by 7:30-7:45am.  I’m going off our first group being called to depart just after 7 am this morning.  Then about 15 min ride to the airport.

We have a 10:55 a.m. flight out of San Juan in February after our Jewel cruise. We’ll do self-assist and hope for the best. 🤞

We are booked on Quantum of the Seas for July 2024 and no fishing excursions are listed on the RCL site.  Traveling with teen boys and looking for guided fishing  tour recommendations for Sitka, Skagway and Juneau.
Cruised Alaska in 2019 and boys are looking for more salmon and halibut fishing!

We will be on Quantum in July as well. Currently in our cruise planner there is a fly fishing excursion in Sitka, and in Juneau there are a halibut fishing excursion and a salmon sport fishing excursion.

If your husband is in the JS he will get the points along with your friend..you will not get the points but when you travel agin he will be ahead of you by the number of points he got for the doubled points but they match his status..just not the points..so in all probability he will be D+ sooner but you will get the perks when you are with him

If he is D+, she is D+. She doesn’t have to sail with him to get the perks.

Just an FYI to all who have the card.  Until Nov 24th you are currently getting 4 points for each $ spent at Royal.  If you have cruise planner purchases or a cruise to pay off this is an advantageous time to do it.

My email from B of A says the 4X points are from November 10th through December 10th.

You can also bring one bottle of wine each (up to two per stateroom).  Some have said they were able to put 2 bottles in their checked luggage and 2 bottles in a carry on.  You can also get small bottles of liquor and beer/truly through Royal Gifts.  Choices are limited and aren't necessarily the best "value" as opposed to pay as you go.  But, these are additional options.

It is now one bottle per adult in the stateroom.  Sailing solo?  One bottle.  Two adults in the room?  Two bottles.  Three adults in the room?  Three bottles.  Four adults in the room?  Four bottles.  You get the gist.

  6. Just got this email.  Here are the T&Cs:

You will earn a total of 4 MyCruise® points (1 base point and 1 bonus point, plus 2 incremental bonus points from this promotion) for every $1 spent from November 10, 2023 through December 10, 2023 on eligible Royal Caribbean and Celebrity Cruise Lines Net Purchases, except purchases made onboard cruise ships. Earn points when you use this card to make purchases; returns, credits and adjustments to this card will be deducted from purchases, even if this card was not the original payment method (“Net Purchases”). Returns and adjustments applied during the reward period will be deducted from the qualifying total, regardless of the original purchase date. Cash Advances and Balance Transfers are not considered purchases and do not apply for purposes of this offer. Eligible Net Purchases include those where Royal Caribbean or Celebrity Cruise Lines must be identified as the merchant and appear as such on your monthly statement, with one of the following merchant category codes (MCC): CRUISE OR STEAMSHIP LINES (MCC 4411) or DIRECT MARKETERS (NEC) (MCC 5969). Merchants are assigned an MCC based on the merchant's primary line of business. We do not determine which MCC a merchant chooses to classify itself or the state where the transaction is processed as it appears on your billing statement (or digital rendering). We group similar MCCs into categories to help you earn rewards on purchases made at specific merchants. Your purchase may not qualify to receive bonus points if the merchant does not process transactions under these MCCs or your purchase is processed through a third-party payment account, mobile/wireless card reader, digital wallet not supported by Bank of America or similar technology where the technology does not support transmission of MCCs. For those Net Purchases, you will earn 1 base point per $1. Not all merchants accept all credit cards. The value of this reward may constitute taxable income to you. You may be issued an Internal Revenue Service Form 1099 (or other appropriate form) that reflects the value of such reward. Please consult your tax advisor, as neither we, nor our affiliates, provide tax advice. Limitations: All of the following conditions are applicable throughout the entire promotional period, which is inclusive of the date the offer begins through the date the promotional points are fulfilled. Your account must be open and have active charging privileges in order to receive the promotional points as a result of this offer. If your account is converted to a different card program other than Royal Caribbean/Celebrity Cruise Lines during the offer period, the offer is no longer valid. This offer is non-transferable. All terms of your Program Rules apply. After qualifying transactions post, allow 1 – 2 billing cycles from the end of the promotion for the incremental points to post to the recipient’s Royal Caribbean/Celebrity Cruise Lines account. Transactions made to the accounts on or after November 10, 2023 and through midnight ET December 10, 2023 will qualify for the incremental points. Other advertised promotional offers can vary from this promotion and may not be substituted. This offer will not apply to any Preferred Rewards bonus, customer bonus or account opening bonus, if applicable.

Kona & Hilo would be a nice alternative. Another draw back to this cruise (for me) would be just Napali Coast (cruise by) at this point this isn't even a Hawaii cruise any longer.

If all else FAILS ( I would push back to resolutions as hard as I could) I would take the $100 pp change fee and change it.

This cruise is beyond final payment date, so it’s 75 percent penalty, not $100 per person change fee.

They have backed off and are now letting people cancel. No help with flights or hotels though. We are still going.

Yes, we're diamond for a while now. I checked the box for senior discount too but didn't see any different. I guess like Ken said that " Depending on the discount that you are eligible for and the current pricing and promos you may or may not receive the discount. C&A balcony discounts are generally not combinable with the instant savings offers'.

Senior discounts were never offered across the board. They’re hit or miss on particular sailings, much like residency discounts.

Coffee/continental breakfast in the morning is complementary.

Hot breakfast,  and orders  at other times  of the day have an $8 service charge added per order.

Cabin Service is once a day for most cabins. Suites have service twice a day

There is a “Chops“  fillet, and also lobster on the menu that has an up charge. Those items have been available for a charge for years.

Suites also get free room service.

Absolutely, completely untrained.  We started doing it in our young teen years and I continued well into dulthood.  I finally quit in my early 30's.  Lynn Canyon is a popular destination in North Vancouver that people flock to every summer. People have been doing this since the early 80's when I started.  People  continue to this day. Here is a video of someone doing it a few years ago. I was 16 the first time I jumped from this very spot. Of course there is risk but the the biggest risk isn't hitting the waterfall it's making sure you clear the waterfall.  This guys technique is rubbish but it is an example of someone doing it.  Others look far more graceful.  If you ever take a cruise out YVR to Alaska and stay over to explore I'll give you directions to Lynn canyon so you can see it live.   Every weekend, from late July through mid Sept, hundreds of folks will flock here to jump from this and other cliffs further down the canyon.   Typically the height is between 60 and 100 ft

I have the card and want to stop using it so much but have built up a decent amount of points since Covid started since we haven't been on a cruise in awhile. If I want to cash in for a free cruise can I also cash in later for OBC for that same cruise? Or can I have my husband cash in rewards for OBC?

You can do both (free cruise and OBC).
