  1. Same here. Consider having paper and electronic versions. Don't forget to have static (I.e. Downloaded versions) in your tablet, phone or computer, not just cloud versions. Dropbox, for example, is really easy to use in such fashion, which is not necessarily the case for other products.

I had an issue where I had a pre-purchased meal, that added a code on the cruise card and "bumped" the Aurea drinks package code. So we had to get that sorted out and the charges for the first day's drinks reversed. No problem as I had all the backup documents.

  2. Thanks for the insight. I'm only 46 years young but I will certainly pack the tux and keep the tradition going. Rest assured, Cuervosar, that my bow tie shall be proper length. Lovely and humorous post. Loved it.

  3. We are quite happy to dress up with our tuxedo and evening dresses, but have seen in a previous cruise (MSC Splendida, October 2916, western Med) that there were not many men with tuxes or laides which dresses.

We are happy to go in MSC Divina soon, in YC Should we bring the nice stuff, or do people no longer care? Do fellow YC guests dress up to Le Muse and the show?

  4. From my recollection, there were no tables next to windows. On MSC Splendida, the section reserved to Aurea guests was to one's left and a bit behind, from the entrance of the MDR. When you walk in, you walk may 10 feet to the Maître d's desk and turn to your left around a planter and the section is right there. It is in fact on the front wall of the MDR, nudged between the door MDR entrance and the ship' port side. There a no windows for those tables because the 2 corners of the section were made into elaborate alcoves that can accommodate maybe 6 guests or be a cozy and romantic nook.

  5. Sorry one more question...little confused on dining we have Aurea experience do we just turn up when we want to eat in MDR ? Or still have to book each day but at any time we like? ..thanks!

You simply show up and the desired time, as your Aurea experience includes "Anytime dining". There is a section of a dozen or so tables set aside for Aurea guests. We never had to wait, and in fact usually had the same table. No need to reserve our announce yourself in any way.

  6. Yes, since April 1st this year, YC guests get the Deluxe (premium) package for use outside of the YC enclave. All items except those with 2 asterisks as you say. There are wonderful treats in the Piazza del Doge on deck 6 that your package will cover. Also, the specialist coffees and hot chocolates in the Caffé Italia on deck 7.

Yes. Thank heavens there are spinning classes!

  7. i'm realky excited and looking forward to the experience. Thanks again Bea for the great reviews. Thanks Fox as well.

I saw several questions as to whether YC guests can imbibe elsewhere on MSC Divina. I checked with my TA today and ascertained that indeed (and this appear to be recent) a YC guest can enjoy a drink everywhere in the ship, the exception being the double premium drinks (** on the menu).

  8. Wow. I have been reading on CC for some time, but I have only recently joined.

I'm really impressed by the wealth of information (Bea is my hero for now!),

In keeping with suggestions to my thread, I upgraded from Aurea on MSC Devina (stateroom 11002), to YC (stateroom 16003) and then... Read the reviews for the forward-facing YC staterooms on MSC Divina. Wow. Thanks to all the reviewers I believe our cruise will be enhanced. We are now booked to stateroom 16023.

I know that I'm new at CC, but I really wanted to say thanks.

And I really look forward to see all at Roll Call for Divina 23 September.

    Be well and sail away!

  9. Many thanks to all of you for your kind replies and opinions. Made a decision and called my TA. Looks like we will be heading up a few floors to YC. Thanks again, and I will make sure to let you know how it went although with all of your reviews and opinions I'm not worried for a moment.

Ticker is down to 35 days. Can't wait.

  10. Depends on your personal preferences. Extras that you would get in the YC are dedicated restaurant (with better food IMHO), private pool deck with it's own buffet, Top Sail Lounge with nice muchies all day, high tea every afternoon and dedicated butler service. You would lose the free massage available with Aurea. So it's up to you if you think it's worth it. Both come with drink packages.

Good points. Well noted. Thank you for the insight.

  11. Booked on MSC Divina for 23 September, Aurea experience with suite #11002. Out front, with sealed panoramic window.

We have been on MSC Splendida Summer 2016 (cabin 13038, Aurea) and really enjoyed the accommodation and the ship.

Our TA can provide YC suite with balcony for 33% more $ than what we booked, probably on deck 16. May I have your thoughts? Is the expenditure worth it?

  12. Yes, they do have Spinning classes in the gym. On Splendida in the Med Sea, they were 10 Euros, discounted to 5 Euros for Aurea experience guests. You need to sign up at the Spa reception. The class is cancelled if there are less than 5 participants.

There is a power walking track, as Skier52 pointed out. It's on deck 15 but does not go all the way around. But, if you look at deck 7 (Apollo), there is a promenade deck that goes around. I suspect that if you get there early morning, then you should be alone... with other runners.
