Are you cruising solo, or with someone else?
I was recently on the Splendor for 31 days and I had a 1A with portholes and a couch (2212) I travel solo, so it had a twin bed, which meant more space in the cabin. I loved it, and will definitely book in the future. I like being in the front, because there is a lot less foot traffic, going back and forth.
If there are 2 of you, I think you will like the PT cabins....also take a look at the 4J’s. They are sold as interiors with picture window. They are in the front of the ship, and have a big open deck in front of you. I also had one of these for 33 days on the Vista.
PS I don’t see a 2022...maybe 2220?

Sorry. I meant the year. Thank you!

When cruising SOLO, which is most of the time, I always try to get an "inside" porthole cabin. Carnival is on to this now and usually charges a slight upgrade price for it, but fine with me. The negatives, of course, it's located at the absolute front of the ship far from anything of any significance for me (I tend to hang out in the aft bar, buffet, pool area of the ship) If you don't mind the constant slamming of the sea against the bow, which at first confused me into thinking someone was slamming empty pallets around. Once I got used to it, it was like a grandfather clock. LOL. Morning sunlight into your cabin more than compensates that for me.
There was always plenty of room, even enough room for a queen bed, but never got one there. I've noticed they are almost always SOLD OUT unless you book very early, a year or so in advance of the cruise. You can't go wrong if your always out and about and only use the cabin to shower, change clothes and sleep (if you must), IMHO. 🙂
Thanks for the detailed response. Much appreciated. I am looking at 2022 so should still be available.

Hi! Looking for suggestions for porthole cabins on Carnival Valor. Have you stayed in one and were there any issues? Cabin # would be great. Thanks!

I will also be on her in February and I can't wait! First time on Carnival.

I like to book at least 18 months ahead because the prices are usually better and cabin selection.

We are doing Magic southern out of ft Lauderdale in February. 8 days.

I believe that with their massive profits, the companies should ethically pay the employees more. However, I would never remove gratuities for those hard working people. They shouldn't suffer for the cruise lines' greed.

I have been to st maarten and San Juan and loved them both. Going to the southern Caribbean in February on magic and very excited. I really like leaving out of ft. Lauderdale. I think both options sound fantastic.

It's your vacation. Do what you enjoy. I have a couple of games I like to play. I may play them on my next cruise. I like reading too. It's all good and I was also wondering which plan to get. So thanks for asking.

In February I found the bed on the harmony to be fine and I don't have the greatest back. Guess I got lucky.

Aw thanks for trying.

Thank you for posting this. February will be my first time on the Magic and first time on Carnival. I like to read all I can about them both.

Sailed on Harmony February 3. Loved it. Wanted deck 8 balcony but they were all booked so did 10570 ocean view balcony on deck 10. Very pleased with this cabin. Near the elevators and great views. Great food venues. Would suggest Wonderland if you are at all adventurous. 150 Central Park was amazing too. Sushi making class lots of fun. Beautiful ship with lots to do.

Carrot cake in the MDR. Everything in Wonderland. Desserts in Jamie's. The bread in 150 Central Park.

The only other cruise we have taken (10 years ago) was on Rotterdam (Holland America) from Seattle to Alaska...very rough for a day and a half....bonine, wrist bands, ginger didn't touch my sickness. I finally put on a patch from the doctor and I was good to go. Motion sickness is truly miserable!
Yes it is. I hope you find something that works for you.

Thanks everyone! I'm really thinking about biting the bullet and doing a 7 night cruise on Symphony of the Seas. It looks like tons of activities for my 14 year old and a big ship for my seasickness!
I think that is an excellent idea. I took my son on his first cruise on a 5 night just to see how he liked it and we were sorry it wasn't longer. Bonine works great, i am prone to motion sickness.

The cost is $24.99 on our cruise on the Jewel. I can see where people might get more of the benefits on a bigger ship like you are going on..
I guess. I just don't see it as a good value. I'd rather spend money on other things. But everyone has different priorities so it's all good.

Cost for my February Harmony cruise is $29.99 pp pd.

Keep checking. A couple of weeks ago all the dining packages for my February cruise were gone except ultimate, 3 day and BOGO. Checked today and 4 and 5 night packages are now available again.
-
Also interested in opinions. Got the 3 night plan on sale. Plan to do Wonderland, 150 Central Park and Jamie's. Wouldn't usually pay extra for dining but Wonderland intrigues me and it was only slightly more to get the three night package than just Wonderland.

Loving this review. On the same route harmony in February. Picking following doesn't work for me so commenting, hoping to get email notifications.

Good looking couple! Following as we will be on Harmony in February. Great review .
