  1. trixiegal, did you use them for post cruise transporation back to the airport?

I used MJS this past November to take us from a hotel in Dania Beach (near Ft. Lauderdale) to the pier in Miami. They arrived on time and we had no problems. There was a problem on the return though. When I got off the ship, I sat down outside and called for a pickup. They told me they would be there shortly. At the same time, a woman sat down next to me also waiting for a shuttle. I asked her who she was waiting for and she told me "Jiffy Jeff". Soon, she left and walked over to a van, talked to the driver and got in. I continued to wait. After about 10 minutes, the SAME driver that she talked to called out my name. For some reason, the MJS passengers were on the list with the Jiffy Jeff people. (Is this all one company?). So, we got in. We then drove down to the next ship. The driver then told us that they had too many people now and we would have to get out and get into the shuttle behind us. So, we all got out, got our luggage and moved to the other van. We finally were on our way. Our first stop was the Ft. Lauderdale airport. We let out one couple (actually it was the woman that I first encountered who booked with Jiffy Jeff). Then, the driver asked those remaining (there were 2 parties left) which airlines? We both told him that our arrangements with MJS was to take us to a hotel. He told us that they don't go to hotels on "turn-over" day. We protested and asked him to call his supervisor. After some discussion, he took us to our hotels. Afterwards I wrote to MJS asking about this confusion but never got a reply.

  2. I haven't seen it before that the cruise ship will wait . What they normally do if the flight is late they put them to another flight and go to the first destination.

I was on that cruise. They probably had time to wait for the late arrivals as we had 2 sea days at the beginning. We were glad we left late. If we would have left on time, we would have been at dinner. With the late departure, we were out on our balcony watching the lights of Miami as we sailed away. It was a wonderful way to start a fabulous cruise!

  3. Can someone tell me about the pillows on the Divina (in the "regular" cabins). I had heard they were not very good, but I tried searching the threads and can't find comments. Also, how many are on each bed? (I'm thinking if they are thin, I could use two.)

I thought about bringing my own - but that takes up WAY too much luggage space.

    Thanks -

  4. I have also heard that sending a message on their at the MSC Cruises Facebook page is the best way to get results.

I received my cruise documents yesterday along with my two bar-coded luggage tags which say "Additional labels are available at the pier. Please do not use photocopies or reprints of this page". Does this mean that they only expect us to have one piece of checked luggage each? Has anyone ever violated this policy or did you just wait until you got to the pier where they say they will have extra tags for you? Bob

    Bob -

I had the same question. I contacted my TA and she told me to just print the additional copies . . . . but I hesitated since it clearly states DO NOT PHOTOCOPY! I'm thinking perhaps that is because of the bar code? I too would like to be able to have all my bags tagged BEFORE I get to the pier - one less thing to worry about.

  5. I don't remember when or where I've seen these cabin numbers, but when I see something I might need to know at some point, I write it down.

Window washing equipment: Next/near to 8094/8096/8011/8015.

Avoid 8102/8108: The suites next door can see into your balcony.

    Less privacy in 8047/8048.

Another note for Window Washing equipment: next to 8039/8041/8043.

    Smaller balcony: 8108

I can't swear to the accuracy of the above; I'm only repeating what I've read. A general search on Cruise critic should provide more info for you. Oh, and I'll see you kids in a few weeks! Penguins, anyone?

Thanks - actually, I had 8100 but was able to change to an aft. Our friends have 8094 and before I suggest they see about a change, I wanted to verify.

  6. Can anyone tell me where they park the window washing equipment on the Infinity? I have seen references for the Constellation and I know it is the same class ship, but not sure if the window washing equipment is in the same place. If anyone knows for sure, I'd sure appreciate knowing which cabins to avoid. I love the view from my balcony and don't want to look at this equipment.

    Thanks!

  7. ;) Me too! LOL!

Not a word from Princess! They don't even bother to return our calls! I'm not letting this go. I never want this to happen to anyone else. It could have been much worse. Happy cruising! :D

I was sorry to hear of your problems/injuries from the elevator on Golden and the lack of proper response from Princess.

We will be on the Golden next week. Could you share which elevator this was that was malfunctioning? I am sure that they have now made repairs, but I would be interested in knowing which one it was.

Thanks - and I hope that Princess will eventually come through for you.

  8. What do people do to get over the post-cruise let down?

The only way is to start planning the next one!

I loved your review. And I am sure if I would go back through all your entries, I would find the answer to my question ------ but - we leave next week and I am trying to pack, etc.

How many formal nights were there? 2 or 3?

    Thanks -

I have tried following the instructions to post photos but the results have always been the small size. How do you post the photos in the large size?

Love your review - we sail on 4/13 - can't wait!!!

  10. Thank you for the review. I am considering booking the cabin that you stayed in (VA 6170) and would appreciate your comments or photos of the cabin/balcony, if any. Thank you in advance.

If you would provide me with your e-mail address, I would be glad to send you a couple of photos of the cabin and the balcony.

  11. Below is the link to my trip report. (I hesitate to call it a review, as it is just my personal thoughts and record of our trip.) We had a wonderful cruise and have no complaints regarding HAL or the Eurodam. This was our 28th cruise - the third with HAL - so we have something to compare it to.

After the report was published, I realized that I did not say where we were on Wednesday, 9/17/08. The port was Halifax.
