  1. We were on a tour and when we returned to the bus, someone had taken "our" seats. I told them we were sitting there and they said someone had taken their seats. I even told them we were with the couple across the aisle, but they stayed right there. Pretty rude I thought. If we hadn't been traveling with the other couple, I wouldn't have said anything and just found other seats.

  2. Just off the Breeze and had 2 things "surprise" me.  First was up in the smoking area on Lido.  Young guy stops and asks if he can have a hit off my cig (say what??).  I was almost finished and told him he could have the rest of it.  He took it & threw it over the side.  I can't repeat the things I yelled at him.  What a jerk!  Lesson learned - never give anyone a cigarette.

The other was one night leaving the casino.  There was this fairly young kid (13?  15?) sitting by the atrium rail.  He said hello and then asked if he could give me some money to gamble (I win and get to keep winnings) - and if I could get him a beer!  I wanted to ask him if his parents knew where he was at 2:30 am.  I just told him I was going to bed & walked off.  Not sure if he got any takers or not.

Both of these were firsts for me after many cruises.

I know you don't want to share the TA or the group online, but would you share the ship and sailing date? There should be no cabins cancelled close to a sailing date as a cancellation would have occurred at final payment date.

Nope - cancellations can and do happen very close to sailing (and way after final payment) - we had to cancel one 2 days prior to sailing due to a medical reason.

  4. I don't remember the wine & water (since we'd ordered the water package), but you definitely get the Club Class Dining plus the specialty breakfast (either in Sabatini's or Crown Grill) -- this is one of the best perks!!  Also, you can order room service off the regular dining room menu (we did this on Formal night so we could avoid taking dressy stuff).

    Enjoy your suite!

    What a fantastic deal!

I booked the April cruise to Eastern Caribbean on the Carnival Breeze, and my sister is coming with me. Happy dance!!!

We did an Elite cruise last year and really enjoyed it. I recently got an email that was a heads-up for upcoming Elite cruises and I'm looking forward to booking another one.   In addition to the perks you listed, we also got steak house dinner with others in the Elite group along with some of the casino hosts.

Congrats on your offer and enjoy your cruise!!

  6. We've sailed mostly on Princess, but have also done quite a few on Carnival as well.  I agree with the earlier poster who said that there are some things we like better on Princess & some things we like better on Carnival.  We've been on the Horizon - large, new ship.  Seems like they had lots of stuff going on for teens, but since we don't have kids, I didn't really take that much notice.  Currently booked on about half Carnival & half Princess.  It's all about which one offers me the best deal!!  :classic_biggrin:

  7. I'll be coming in to FLL from a Transatlantic cruise.  Booked a 10:55 EZ air flight.  Hopefully we won't be too delayed getting off.  We have Global Entry, so hopefully we will not spend a lot of time in Customs.

I always check to see what time EZ air lets you book & use that as a guideline if booking independently.

  9. On my CB cruise last month, I got a tiny bag that had an emery board, q-tips/cotton, shower cap & lip balm.  I used to bring the nicely filled gold bags home to give to friends or relatives.  I'd be embarrassed to give this last one to anyone!

  10. Absolutely no problem with the anytime dining - that's what we had as well -- just remember the name of the head waiter who took your order so you can tell your waiter that you've ordered with "so & so" already.  One of our cruises was pretty funny as we had "Edward 2" since there were two with the same name.  He even fixed us a little special dish nightly (usually sliced tomatoes with mozzarella cheese & balsamic - which have a specific name that I can't recall).  We were on a 5 night with them & we stayed for the next 4 night.  Edward 2 kept doing the special things just for us (we were able to get the bruschetta since we didn't need GF).  :classic_biggrin:

  11. When we cruised with my DS & BIL, he did gluten-free dining.  He got to pick his dinner for the following evening each night.  The head waiter would bring the menu & tell him all the things they could do as GF.  They had a lot of variety of the dishes that could be prepared as GF.  Also - the International Café generally has some GF items.  Sorry I can't be more specific - I don't do GF, so it's more just what I've noticed.  I'm sure you won't go hungry!  Have a great cruise!!

  12. We just did the 2-Day St. Petersburg Grand Tour with Alla.  Yes, we had to wait to leave the ship until the Princess tours departed, but it was very easy once we were off.  We even left about 20 minutes early as all of our group (14 of us!) were there so we were ahead of some of the other small groups. Our guide was great & very knowledgeable.  We highly recommend doing this excursion with Alla - and it was about half the price of the same tour from Princess.

  13. The item we've found that they don't know how to make -- biscuits!!  They make all those other wonderful breads, but can't seem to master the art of biscuits!  My DH did try the biscuits on our latest Regal sailing & he said they were "better" than he's had, but still not really biscuits that we've used to (in the South).

But, the pecan pie they had in the International Café was loaded with pecans & pretty tasty!!
