  1. Ok-so there are a LOT of things on a cruise that people do that annoy me.  I feel this is true for most everyone.  Does it ruin my vacation?  absolutely not!  My biggest pet peeve while cruising is.....people that constantly complain about EVERYTHING!  The thing I cannot understand is do they really cruise so they can complain?  I look at it this way- there are so many people that will never be able to enjoy a cruise vacation, so I can't comprehend those that are able to, to constantly complain...makes no sense to me.

  2. I have at this point only sailed Carnival and RCCL.  My last Carnival cruise in January was some of the worst behavior I have ever encountered.  A family of 90 were completely out of control in practically every area.  The crew either didn't or couldn't control them.  I am talking NASTY behavior.  This did not ruin my cruise, but I will say honestly that if me and my friends were in a particular venue and saw some of this family coming, we left.  I realize it was our choice to leave, but that choice was better than the alternative.

  3. I am sailing on the Dream May 23rd.  Received an email from Carnival yesterday, stating we would now be sailing at 3:30pm instead of 4pm.  No problem here!  However, our time in Cozumel is now 8am-4pm, meaning we have to be back on the ship by 3pm.  I am not thrilled about this, but anytime in Cozumel to me is better than no time at all.  Just wondering if anyone would know why time in Cozumel is now shorter?  Thanks in advance!

  4. Ok here are my thoughts-

My friends and husband have heard me say this a lot.  There are so many folks who will never experience a cruise vacation or any kind of vacation for that matter.  Any cruise I get to go on, I feel so blessed.  I am not discounting the OP's feelings or experiences.  I just don't let these little things bother me.  I am on vacation, on a ship, NOT at work, and having a blast!  And, I hear people say all the time they are spending their hard earned money and taking precious time off from work.  Aren't we all doing this?  Life isn't perfect, so for me when things don't go necessarily the way I want or think they should, I just roll with it!  Because, after all,  I am on a CRUISE!  and life is too short!

I have cruised Carnival and RCCL about equal amounts and frankly, I don't prefer one over the other.  They BOTH have different things to offer and I enjoy the different aspects of both lines.  JMHO

    Happy Cruising everyone!

  5. I am cruising again in May.  This will be the first time I am purchasing the drink package for me and my husband.  We are cruising with 7 other couples for a 50th birthday.  The way I am choosing to look at it, is I simply do not want to have to think about my bar bill.  This will be a super fun cruise and there will be a bit more partying since we are celebrating a 50th!  I am going to enjoy having already paid my bar tab before ever stepping foot on the ship.  I understand what everyone is saying about not sure if you actually get your money's worth, but to me, I will have peace of mind and can try drinks I wouldn't normally ever try and literally not have to think about it.  I also love a good specialty coffee in the morning and the sparking water is a bonus as well.  So I think for me and my husband and for this cruise, the drink package is going to be a good thing.

    Happy Cruising everyone!

  6. I have been to Playa Mia, Paradise Beach and Mr. Sancho's several times each.  They were all fantastic!  My personal favorite now is Mr. Sancho's.  This is why- I like reserving in advance and paying my $50 balance once I arrive.  I love ordering what I want to eat/drink what I want and once I am ready to leave, I tip and go.  Not having to worry about keeping up with what I have ordered is worth the $50 to me.  Also, I get off the ship as soon as allowed and go straight there.  For several hours it isn't crowded.  It seems in my experiences, the crowds start coming in right around lunch time.  Again, this is just my opinion.  Honestly, I feel you almost can't go wrong in Cozumel.  It remains a favorite port of mine.

    Happy Cruising everyone!

  7. I agree that personally for me, I would be afraid of getting caught etc...I would think a special drink a couple times a day your daughters will be thrilled and it won't be that much.  I hope you enjoy your cruise vacation!

On another note - years ago I was a regular sneaker of alcohol in my suitcase.  I always wondered if I got caught what would happen.  A few years back I just stopped.  It isn't right, and it seriously wasn't worth it.  I can afford to cruise and all that goes with it.  I work hard like I am sure you all do and save my money for what I want to do.  Cruising is my favorite thing and I do it as much as I possibly can!

    Cheers everyone!

  8. I was on a cruise a couple of years ago. 4 day out of Galveston, Navigator of the Seas in early February. It was cold and rainy most of cruise. We did get sunny skies for Cozumel :) even though it was rainy and cool most of cruise, we had the BEST time. Lots to do inside, lots of relaxing, lots of people watching, shopping, drinking hot tea and other things :) just a fantastic trip! I am one of those people though, that no matter what.....I am on a cruise and enjoy every second of it. Have a fantastic trip!

    Bon Voyage,

  9. This is just my opinion. I CHOOSE to make travel a priority. I am a frugal shopper, and don't have to have name brand everything. My first cruise was in 2000 and I am going on my 19th cruise in January. I plan ahead and give myself plenty of time to pay. Sometimes a year or year and a half in advance. I have two cruises already booked and paid for in 2019

Again, this is a choice I make for myself. I also live near the port of Galveston, so it is even more affordable because I do not have to buy airfare for the majority of my cruises. I also cruise during off peak season and do a lot of 4 day cruises. To me, 4 days on a cruise ship is better than just about anything!

    Happy Cruising everyone!

  10. I have been to Mr. Sancho's twice now and am going back in January AND May :) super fun place, real close to cruise terminal and they are great there!! Enjoy your cruise and Mr. Sancho's!

  11. I was on the Valor last week. My five day became a four day. We were told we would go to Progresso and miss Cozumel. disappointed, but hey....I am still on a cruise! We were able to get everyone onboard by 2pm Sunday and were told by the Captain we were going to be able to make Cozumel! I hope for all yall leaving tomorrow now instead of today, you get to go to Cozumel too! Have a great cruise!

  12. I am always amazed at the level of complaining some people do! I consider myself so fortunate to be able to cruise that I am certainly not going to spend my time complaining! Life is too short!

so anyway - my funny story :)

a few years ago on Royal Caribbean's Navigator I heard a woman in the main dining room at dinner complain that there were not enough croutons on her Caesar salad haha! What made it even better was she was seriously acting like an actual crime had been committed :) they brought her more croutons but she insisted on speaking with the Captain, Head Chef, Maitre d' about the lack of croutons...Seriously hilarious!
