If you go down the page to charts on the attached, it definitely appears
that the NCL ships are more crowded than Carnival....FYI :
Last column, "Guest to space Ratio" :
Not only did you get the best cabin category on the ship, you got one of the two best cabins of all (4228 & 4237)!:D I did a lot of research when booking my VS, and came to the conclusion that the Deck 4 VS are the BEST! Congrats on snagging it and enjoy!:)
.
Agree 10000000 percent. Have done these on Pride and Legend.......they are at the top of the line.
Once you step into the cabin, look around, then open one of the doors to the
deck.....each time, we were so mesmerized, the only words that came to us
were OH... MY... GOD.
Get ready to be spoiled !!!!!!!!! -
The Pride rocks. You'll never feel squooshed.
You'll always feel welcome.
Getting there is fast. Parking is easy (and cheap vs. NYC). Terminal
is the best, most efficient in the fleet.
We've cruised on her 3 (or maybe 4) times, and shall return. Our last
Pride cruise departed 12/26/15. Was a great New Year.

Not surprisingly, the Spirit class is a Holland America design. But I'm a bit confused about your statement. I did look at the various tables and the only cruise that line that didn't have any ships with a PSR higher than the Spirit class was NCL (well, and Costa. But Costa ships are basically Carnival ships with a yellow funnel). Otherwise, all other cruise lines mentioned have several ships (sometimes the entire fleet) with a better PSR, ranging from 35 to 41.
Huh ?
All Spirit are 41. ( Higher than 95% of all others. And higher than all of Carnival/RC/NCL/Holland/Disney/Celebrity/Princess and others).

Scroll down on this link and you will find most cruise ships passenger to space ratio listed. This will give a good indicator on how crowded the ship will be.

Thank you so much for this........WOW, this really tells the story. The Spirit
Class numbers here (as well as the overall vessel design) really impacts
the weeklong cruise experience. We need and enjoy personal SPACE.
Incredible how Spirit gives you more space than virtually all other cruiselines, including Celebrity, Princess, Holland, Royal Caribbean, NCL, Disney, Costa, etc.

The 4 Spirit ships, but we only have 2 at the moment.
Personally, we ALWAYS felt squooshed while on Dream. Why ? Because we WERE !!!
That class of ship is simply overcrowded, for profits I'm sure. In addition, we
were shocked with how thin the walls were. Could hear guests on each side without trying.
Try Pride or Miracle while they're still in the U.S.A.....you'll see a night and day
difference in your comfort level.

Mosquitoes?
in Aruba
There are recent reports concerning the Zika virus spreading in
Venezuela....so we won't be taking cruises that stop in Aruba, which is
only 15-20 miles away.
Darn ! It's one of our favorite ports.
-
It is horrible, Carnival ! And by making it so hard to navigate, will
cost you business.
-
Suggest you follow their times. The later you board, the less time waiting
on line ! Really !
-
We recently did the $30 ATT....unlimited texting, and calls are $ 1.00 per
minute.
(In port of course).
If you need to make a call at sea, Carnival charged $ 2.00 a minute.
-
Our experience with Pride is.......get there later, get onboard faster !
As in parking lot arrival about 1:30 - 2:00 PM works out real well.
-
It looks like you haven't yet been on a Spirit class ship (Pride, Legend, Miracle, Spirit).
Strongly urge you do Pride first, since in our opinion that class of ship
is the BEST ever offered by Carnival.......and they'll never make ships
like that again, since they are less profitable.
Ships like Vista and Dream Class entries make MUCH more money, since
they SQUOOSH customers together ! Pride isn't a tiny ship....but simply never
feels crowded, no matter where your adventures take you.
Do Vista afterward to compare.
-
Oh wow....sounds great !
-
Should be interesting to see how Carnival handles this. If 2 feet of snow
covers cars on Saturday evening, might cause significant delay Sunday in emptying lot, then reloading with cars for next departure.
-
We are Spirit Class ship addicts, have done I think 6 cruises between
Legend and Pride (same as Miracle).
Have tried Dream, Liberty, and Freedom and they are just not quite as good.
As others point out, you never feel crowded. and the crews are the very best !
You did well picking Miracle. Enjoy her while you can.

OK !!!! The mystery continues .
Let's see. a)Tropicana/Atlantic City = Casino .......b) Gambling = Cash.......
.....c) Cash = Credit Cards d) Cash = Debit Cards e) Cash = Cash Advance
f) Limited Cash = Credit/Debit Cash Advance
Aha ! (screw Carnival for winning all the cash? ).....maybe !

If you still have Chris "Monkey" Salazar as CD, you're in for a treat !
If not, you're STILL in for a treat.......Pride and other Spirit vessels are
the best in the fleet IMHO.
We just got back Jan 3, and am jealous already !!!! Enjoy !!!!!
-
We like to overpack, to avoid inconvenience .
It's one of several reasons why we like sailing the Pride, large suitcases with no airplane needed .......pack as much as you want !
Personally, I use only 1/3 of the clothes, but always have a lot of choice !!!
And we also bring large plastic bags for the dirty stuff....once home, out of
luggage and directly into washing machine.
When planes are needed, well then those 50 pound limits do figure in.

And the point of this thread is what? Trying to paint Belize as a dangerous place? These could have happened anywhere in the world including the U.S., Canada, the UK, anywhere, and have. I'm sorry, I just don't get the point.
Uhhh.......with a population of only 335,000, at least 121 were murdered
here in 2015.
Making it one of the most dangerous places in the entire WORLD. (it makes places like Detroit, Baltimore, and Chicago look heavenly by comparison).
For further info, check Google for complete crime data provided by the U.S.
Department of State. This is a very scary place to go.....and in recent years
the problems have expanded well beyond Belize City. Cruisers unfamiliar
with this area should be alert to the criminal reality before thinking
about excursion plans.

Reason we don't even consider cove balconies......is that there are things
stickin' out above your head......lifeboats.
For most rooms, it means you're in the dark, little sun. Not our cup of tea !
-
Ken's singing IMHO inspires the whole staff, to the point that they are
really enjoying the show that THEY put on.
Just the best Maitre d and dining crew we've ever had. Pure entertainment each and every night at the Normandie !

....having been raised in the Big Apple, I KNOW what good pizza tastes like.
Have probably eaten it at a few hundred places in my lifetime, from NY, NJ, Pa,
Del, NC, SC, Fla, Tex, NM, Cal, Nev, Ariz, Ill, Mo, and maybe even more states.
Just returned from a fantastic New Years cruise on the Pride (our 3rd or 4th
time on her), and can only say........the new, thin, crispy menu pizzas are EXCELLENT.
Small in size, our way to order was a whole pie for each of us. And as far as the pizza "crew" on Pride late at night....the best, hard working pizza makers
I've ever met, who deserve a tip now and then !
Perhaps in a couple more weeks, will maybe get on the scale again....but trust me, all of the whole pies "sampled" were worth the added pounds !!!!

The Costa Line (owned by Carnival) in Italy has 2.....and there may be a few more, like in Holland line.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Costa_Crociere
The design is our favorite.
-
The Pride CD is Chris "Donkey" Salazar. We just enjoyed his presence on
our New Year's 8 day cruise.
He's the very best we ever had.....a real entertainer that smiles. dances,
sings and inspires fun, fun, fun.

Yay ! That'll give us more time to still enjoy a Spirit Class ship (in addition to Pride), our favorites by far.
