Your reminder that the reigning Toot Champ is in Port Everglades and is scheduled to sail at 4:00 PM.
Join us to watch the Westerdam later today.
I hope to watch it. Today is the most gorgeous day here in South Florida. A beautiful day for a sail away!

Mark Santos.
I vote for Mark Santos too:)

I park here:

It is less money and easy. You pull up to the Tiki hut and before you can park they are there to unload your bags to their bus. When you come back from the cruise they handle your bags too, placing them in your car. They also have a cold bottle of water waiting for you. A few years ago I think it came to $56 total for 7 day cruise.

Of all the names they could come up with is this one? I don't like it either.

From your description, I thought you were looking for this video:

Essie in the cab-ana is a beautiful bluish turquoise color. I live an Florida and wear it all the time. It is perfect for a cruise. It reminds me of the Caribbean Sea.
I should say for the toes. I don't wear it on the hands.

Makes me happy.

I hate it and think it is cumbersome also. I think they designed it so that you are forced to call someone.

My first cruise was in 1981 on the Dolphin. It was a 3 day cruise to Nassau.

Wasn't it a sail away on Easter. People remarked that they thought the horn blowing was "Here Comes Peter Cotton Tail." I remember that day. It was fun.
Not last Easter. A few Easters ago.

It was well over 88 times, more like 145 and those of us that have join in the threads from PE have really enjoyed hearing the horns of the Westerdam and others. I believe that it was Captain Henk that had the record for toots. All us sailaway addicts will certainly miss the toots this fall from the Westerdam if that is the case, but there could always be some other ship and Captain that will take over from her, I hope.

I have a lot of OMG moments.
I was on the Jewel in 2005 in the 2 bedroom suite. I was at dinner in Le Bistro and liked the flickering candles and thought that would be a good night light for the back bedroom, so I stuck the flickering candle in my purse to take to the room. Two days later ship security called me and said you have something that belongs to us and needed to be returned. I told him how it made a good night light in the dark back bedroom, but he wanted it back. He said to give it back to the steward. The next day I handed it to the steward in the hallway and asked him to make sure he returned it for me. He pointed to the ceiling and said he would because they see everything. Well, I looked up and noticed the video surveillance cameras on the ceiling. That was an OMG moment and the next was getting on the elevator and seeing the bubble in the corner. After that I was aware of how many hidden cameras they have on that ship.
Another OMG is a good one. We boarded the Jewel and asked Alex, the best concierge ever, if there were any upsells. He said for $6000 we could bump up to the Garden Villa. There were 5 in the group and a few declined. At lunch, I told the others in the group the Garden Villa is the 3 bedroom suite with the private hot tub. We all decided we would splurge and when we tracked Alex down, the price came down to $5500. He told us to hurry to the room because our butler, Mark Santos-the best, was waiting to serve us champagne. I never saw my mother run so fast from the back of the ship to get there. The OMG moment was that whole first day.

I was on the Zuiderdam in 2005 and our waiter would remember everyone's names. He told us to be on dock at the next port to watch him recite people's names as they came off the ship. We could not believe remembered everyone's names.
I just remembered. It was in 2004. I was on NCL Jewel in 2005.

Is Hunky Dory the one who remembers everyone's names?
-
Do you mean from Disney ships? In Curacao the fireworks were launched on land. NCL Breakaway has a firework show, I believe.
Getaway has fireworks too.

There was just a *3rd/4th FREE* promo a few months ago ... don't know if there will be another one before October ... but you never know :p
My PCC said they usually only do it in the spring.

The drone that was spotted on the RCCL ship wasn't a passengers, it was launched from FLL beach. Here is a YouTube Vid.
Wow, fascinating and scary at the same time. I suppose we will start seeing more of this.
-
Thanks for the quick review. The Jewel is my favorite NCL ship. Maybe because I sailed twice in the GV has something to do with it.;)
-
are drones allowed to be flown on cruises?
Someone on the HAL board said they were recently on an Alaska cruise when they saw a drone hovering over the ship. Someone mentioned they are allowed in Alaska.

How awful. What happened to you reminds me of the movie The Out of Towners from 1970 with Jack Lemmon. I thought it was a little far fetched that so many things could go wrong while away from home, but now we know they can.
