  1. Definitely not mandatory.  If you visit on your own, you are supposed to pay a park fee, but it's not enforced.  Bus tours have the fee built in.  As far as a must-see, I'm on the fence because we were short on time and couldn't watch the film. If the film is worthwhile then maybe.  Hopefully others can comment about that.

For my Halloween cruise it was over a month. When it got to the week before the cruise, I called.  I used 800-398-9819 and got through pretty quick. Refund was posted the next day.

Just saw the similar thread by @Gigi1068. Could be a different ball game than I experienced with getting help by calling because of the Black Friday fiasco. Good luck.

  3. On Allure last month, they had one on the first sea day at 11:30 and the last port day at 4:30. I hadn't planned to watch it, but got caught in the crowd. Glad I did. It was awesome. I believe it's a different parade on Oasis. Hope it's as good for you.

  4. First one was the Harmony, in early February. It was any easy win due to low capacity. I bid $10 over the minimum from Balcony to oversize balcony and junior suite. Got the oversize balcony. But it was under the lido with the overhang and a support beam in front of it. Next was the Odyssey in April. Went from inside to balcony for double the minimum bid. Won that one a week after I bid-about 30 days before sailing.  Both of those were 7 nights.  I just returned from an 8  night Mariner, and had an inside.  I really wanted one of the new cabins above the spa area-Panoramic Oceanview. I kept upping my bid along the way.  About 5 days out, I saw one come available to book, so I went ahead and maxed out my bid at $275. I may have gotten it cheaper, but I really really wanted that cabin. I was still all in for less than $1000 if I had booked it outright.

  5. I've had three Royal Caribbean cruises so far this year and won an upgrade on all of them. I bid on multiple option on the first two. On one, the "upgraded" cabin was in a terrible location.  The other one was just okay. On the most recent one, I only bid on the exact category I really wanted and won that one. A big however though...I received the upgrade the day before the sailing.

On the cruise planner there is a spot that says Call to Upgrade and the phone # is there,  I saw it when I was looking at internet packages.  I called that # and they took care of upgrading both the internet and beverage package.

I have two cruises coming up. Both show the Call to Upgrade box. One of the bookings is definitely all inclusive, but the other one, I didn't think so. Is it wishful thinking or does having that box mean I have AI on that one as well? Thanks

  7. On the Odyssey last month out of Port Everglades it did not matter. We had an 1100 and when we went upstairs the place was packed. Once they started boarding it went by the seating sections that filled first. Did not matter what boarding time you had. First come first served. (Other than suites and the Key)

  8. I snagged UDP for our upcoming Wonder of the Seas at $196. Seems like a good price, but they didn't add taxes and gratuities when I checked out. Do you think those were included in the price or will they be added for each meal?

Also, are there limited times to use the a la cart restaurants like lunch on sea days only as well or can we go to those on port days?  Thanks

So with 9 days to go and two of my three bids have switched from pending to expired.  My 2 bd GS bid still shows pending but I can not modify it anymore. I think this is good sign. I'm sitting on pins and needles waiting for a possible upgrade.  From a reg balcony to 2 bd grand suite would be absolutely amazing.  🙂

That is a great sign.  After that happened to us recently on Harmony, within a day we were notified of the successful upgrade.

If you keep the same booking number, and the cruise is before Dec. 31, 2022. You should keep the double points. The booking onboard OBC is also transferable. You will not be price protected for other sailings.

This topic has taken a different turn, but if I can take a step back and ask a question about keeping the double points...

I'm booked on the Oasis in December and want to change to the Wonder. TA says I can move with the same booking number and keep the promo, but I'll have to pay $100pp change fee. Worth it to me to keep double points. Would this really work?
